Talented Martial Hero
Chapter 862 Ring Down the Curtain

Darren kept his calm, using his Dark Force and Primitive Fighting Force to ready a counterattack. The strange stone in his head had merged with the black hexahedral crystal, and the power ofDarren's Dark Force was greatly increased. After the upgrading of the Dark Force, the balancebetween it and the Primitive Fighting Force was broken, so after some time of cultivation, thePrimitive Fighting Force was promoted as well to create a new state of balance.

The arena was hidden by a burst of light as Chilton's massive attack landed.

However, high-level martial artists such as Chandler and Townsend could still detect the two fighterswith their spiritual senses.

Townsend frowned when he realized that Darren was still alive. Chilton's final blow hadn't killed him!Yet Darren was just a junior holy warrior. Although he had brought out two terrifying powers atonce, he should not be any match for Chilton at all. A single blow from Chilton should have beenenough to send him packing.

A familiar rotating, swishing sound reached everyone's ears.

Then, suddenly, a pulse of bloody light rushed into the sky, and all those present shivered as theyfelt its terrifying aura.

"What?!

What kind of power is this?!" shouted someone uselessly.

Meanwhile, the whooshing sound continued.

It was the sound of a sword and a blade sweeping across the air.

As it ceased, Darren reappeared under the battle platform, facing the spectators, and the lightdissipated in an instant.

Chilton was still standing up on the platform, staring at the front with a look of ferociousconcentration.

For the next few seconds, nobody so much as took a breath.

Then, with a splash, Chilton collapsed into a shapeless puddle on the ground, as if his body hadinstantly turned to mud.

Everyone except for Chilton’s killer stared, their minds blank. Darren had killed him with just onemove.

The faces of the three clans’ members turned deathly pale.

"You crafty son of a bitch!" Townsend shouted, infuriated. There was no mistaking the murder on hisface.

There was a burst of power as he extended one hand.

Those nearby flinched away.

Darren fell back as a blast of hellish red light struck him square in the chest.

It was hardly the toughest blow he'd ever received, though.

In just a second or two he had righted himself and was ready for more violence. At his mentalcommand, the scarlet sword and blade thrust at Townsend.

Townsend was shocked as he fell back under the enormous force.

"Evil Seal!" he called out frantically.

Instantly, something like the palm of a huge hand fell from the sky like a meteor.

Darren didn't see it coming and was struck full-on.

With a boom, he was smashed flat against the ground.

"Townsend, you shameless old asshole!" Chandler cursed.

At the very same instant, Chandler made a move, and a cyan lotus surged from his head.

Having just attacked Darren, Townsend only had time to turn toward the other man beforeChandler's attack blew a hole straight through his chest.

At this time, the oath between them came into full effect. As everyone stared, Townsend stood upslowly, blood still spilling out of him.

He turned a furious gaze on Chandler. "No way! The three clans will never surrender to the SacredPalace!" Saying this, he gestured, calling on the powers of the void, and a huge black portalappeared off to the side.

"Get out of here!" Townsend barked at the senior holy warriors from the three clans.

With great hatred as well as sorrow on their faces, the senior holy warriors rushed into the darkportal without wasting any time.

Chandler's eyes went wide. "Townsend! You just broke the oath. You will be sentenced to death bythe Oath Rule!"

"So what? Even if I die, the three clans will never submit to you. That will be enough for myrevenge!"

Realizing that his nemesis was beyond reason, Chandler frowned and said nothing.

Meanwhile, Scott and others tried to rush to the edge of the hole on the ground.

They were worried about Darren very much.

But just then, wish a whoosh, he leaped out of the dark hole.

"You're alive!" exclaimed Townsend, whirling.

He stared from afar at Darren and trembled with renewed anger!

For his part, Darren looked something like a drowned mouse. Several parts of his body were sunkenor crooked, but none of the injuries were deadly.

"Yes, and I won't die—not even if you die ten thousand times,” Darren retorted.

As if on cue, a black force fell from the void.

Townsend roared as it rushed into his brain.

There were two sharp claps, as if of thunder.

The first was as Townsend's head was blown to pieces, then the rest of him. This was the result ofbreaking the oath.

In the distance, there was a strange ripple in space. For a brief moment, a pair of silver-white eyeswas staring, as if in terrible shock, at the black force which still hovered over what was left ofTownsend's body.

"Oath Rule..." murmured a cold, ethereal voice. Then the presence, whatever it was, disappeared."Darren, are you okay?"

Scott asked, patting Darren on the shoulder.

"Ouch!" Darren replied. He gritted his teeth. "The old bastard is so strong. He might well have killedme, if I wasn't so damn lucky.”

Most of Darren's bones had been broken, or very nearly so, when Townsend attacked him all of asudden.

Just then, Chandler and the others flew over.

"Townsend is dead, since he refused to honor the oath. However, the three clans have just lost theirbackbone, so they probably won't be able to make any moves for a long time,” Chandler explained. However, there was a flash of sadness in his eyes.

Leighton spoke up then. "Elder Chandler, I'd like to mobilize our people to sweep the CrossExpeditionary Force, and conquer the three clans at one stroke.”

Rather than answering, Chandler shook his head wearily.

"Is there another better option, sir?" asked Gabriel, who was standing nearby.

"With Townsend dead, the three clans might not submit to us. Suppressing them by force will onlylead to more strife within the human race. There's no need for that,” Chandler said at last.

Silence ensued. After thinking for a while, Lord Donald drew himself up and said, "You are right. There have been disputes among us over the years, but there has never been anything involvinglarge-scale bloodshed. If we don't suppress them by force, well, it will preserve the strength of thehuman race as a whole. We should let it go.”

Several senior holy warriors nodded or murmured in agreement.

"Darren, go get some rest," Lord Donald said to Darren.

"I'll be fine," answered Darren. "Elders, you will need to pay special attention to the forbidden areain case that fiend tries to get out.”

"You are right. Back when there was a commotion in the forbidden areas of the Holy Lands, wefailed to come back to help. We were very worried at that time. But thanks to your talent, at last,Eddy was able to use Hiram the Great's battle halberd to suppress the fiend. Now we've finished ourcultivation, we must not let that first fiend ancestor get out again,” Chandler said.

"Once the fiend collects the eight body parts into one, no one will be able to stop him," Gabrielwarned.

"In that case, Leighton and Gabriel, please summon the other two senior holy warriors and go to theforbidden area,” Chandler said. "I'll be there soon.”

"Yes, sir.” Saying this, the two flew out.

Looking perturbed, Scott urged his friend, "Darren, just take care of yourself right now. I will go toguard the forbidden area with Hanson and Mathew, too."

Darren shook his head. "No, you can't go to the forbidden area. Only the senior holy warriors canprotect themselves there. You mustn't go."

"How dare you look down upon me, Darren?" Scott said with a smile.

"He's right, Darren. Your brother is no worse off than you now," Hanson chimed in.

"Really?" Darren's eyes lit up. "It seems that you've been having your own adventures. Well, I won'tsay anything more. Take care with the two seniors.”

"All right.” They nodded.

A few moments later the crowd had mostly dispersed, but Chandler had not left.

"Darren, what kind of force did you use just now?" Chandler asked.

"Bloody Shura Force,” Darren answered frankly.

"Sure enough!” Chandler looked excited. "Well, well! Come with me."

"What?" Darren was rather confused. Seeing Chandler start to fly towards the palace, he started inthe same direction

"Darren, it seems that the elder is going to lead you to the Emperor Realm," Lord Donald said withsurprise.
