Talented Martial Hero -
Chapter 870 Is That True
It was becoming evident just how strong a two-tribulation inferior holy warrior was.
The raw power emanating from his cold blade was enough for Darren to know that he should nottake his opponent lightly. The inferior holy warrior wielded his blade so skillfully in a way thatDarren could not predict the direction it was headed. What he was witnessing was the differencebetween surviving the tribulations and comprehending the Holy Will to enter the Holy Realm.
'How can he pull off that kind of pure skill? I have never seen such thing in my entire life, ' Darrenthought just as he narrowly avoided getting sliced by a blade that was just inches away from hishead.
The air whistled where the blade passed through, effectively knocking him back to reality.
His own sword and blade intents swept out to block his opponent's blow.
This move didn't even make the two-tribulation inferior holy warrior flinch. The corpse man's faceremained impassive as he hewed his swords against Darren's resistance.
Then, a shrill sound broke out.
The corpse man's blade sliced through Darren's blade and sword intents easily as if it was onlyslicing through a cake. Darren's blade and sword intents split apart. A light shot out from thecollision, looking like a meteor flying across the void.
Darren cried out in astonishment and fear.
He knew that the two-tribulation inferior holy warrior was strong, but experiencing it first hand wasentirely different. It left him awestruck by the sheer force of the warrior's abilities.
As their blades kissed, it jarred the space around them, tearing through the air upon the lethalimpact. Darren could feel the numbing cold of the blade as it pressed down on him.
Hastily, he brandished his sword and blade, forming a perfect arch of light in the air.
They were immediately surrounded by the sounds of weapons clashing and clanging against oneanother. Darren exerted his physical strength with each blow.
The blue-skinned man who was watching the battle from the side was beginning to sense that therewas something different about Darren for he was not as weak as he appeared to be. "This oneseems powerful,”
he sneered.
"I'll be sure to enjoy this interesting show." After a few rounds, Darren was beginning to see apattern in his foe's strikes. This eased his mind a little, allowing him to put in more force andintensity in his own attacks.
"Number 89, go and kill him!"
the blue-skinned man shouted immediately upon realizing just how powerful Darren could get."Yes, sir!" The inferior holy warrior obeyed. The expression on his face remained unchanged."Profound Nine Cracks!" he roared.
Suddenly, his power swelled a million times over. Just one heavy blow could shake the entireground beneath their feet.
"His strength is not of this world. I might not be able to resist it much longer.”
Darren staggered back by the force of it. The combination of raw power and a masterful martial artsskill was too much.
"But I'm not going to give up just yet!"
Darren gritted his teeth in defiance. His fighting spirit was threatening to burst out of him like aflood. Until finally, it poured out of him, transforming him into a Bloody Shura. He towered over hisopponents like a giant.
"What the hell?" The blue-skinned man shrieked as soon as he saw Darren transform.
Darren made a horrifying picture surrounded by bloody light. It left the blue-skinned man shiveringin terror and wonder.
Darren threw his scarlet sword and blade at the inferior holy warrior. It flashed like a blazing light. And in an instant, Darren disappeared completely.
"Go to hell!"
When he reappeared, he was already standing behind the blue-skinned man.
Panic flashed in the blue-skinned man's eyes, and he stumbled back as he dodged Darren's attack.Crimson light filled the entire area.
It was like a bloody veil over them.
It gave Darren the opportunity to stab right into the blue-skinned man's chest and put an end to hislife right there.
"Assimilate!”
Darren smashed the blue-skinned man’s heart and assimilated his martial art talent.
The scene left the two-tribulation inferior holy warrior stunned.
A look of confusion and doubt dawned on his face now that his master was dead.
"What is happening to him?" Darren stared at him curiously for the inferior holy warrior had becomecompletely motionless. It was as if he was a robot that had just been shut down.
To be sure, Darren turned into a shadow and flew closer to the inferior holy warrior.
He cocked his head to one side as he scrutinized the corpse man.
But suddenly, the inferior holy warrior seemed to have come back to life.
He brought out his blade and brandished it at Darren.
Fortunately, Darren was able to step back before he could be hit.
"It seems like he'll attack me as long as I get close to him," he realized.
Now Darren was stuck alone with the corpse man. He knew that the blue-skinned man must havesome special means to resurrect a corpse and keep it under his command. There was no denyingthat he had seen the way the blue-skinned man exerted absolute control over the inferior holywarrior.
With the blue-skinned man gone, Darren could be the corpse man's new master.
But he soon realized that it wouldn't be an easy task. He was running low on Spirit Power since mostof his rule cultivation base had been passed down to his avatar. Whatever he had left might not beenough to control the warrior.
“Well, since I don't have any means of controlling him, let's see what will happen if I try defeatinghim, * he mused
With his mind made up, Darren ran towards the inferior holy warrior with the speed of light.
In an instant, the battle between them began again.
Each blow they dealt caused a violent ripple in the air. Cracks began spreading rapidly around them. The forces of their collision threatened to destroy the very ground they stood on. They fought for along time until the inferior holy warrior started to show signs of fatigue. His breathing came in rapidbursts and his sweat formed bullets on his forehead.
It didn't take long before Darren had the inferior holy warrior pinned beneath his feet.
"If you aren't a resurrected body but is a real human being, your combat power should becomparable to mine now."
Defiance flashed strongly in the inferior holy warrior's eyes as he continued to struggle beneathDarren. He showed no signs of surrendering anytime soon.
Darren sighed and slapped him in the head.
The inferior holy warrior fell unconscious. His body had grown limp like a dead man.
Darren placed him in his Space Ring and began routing his escape.
But his search was growing more and more futile by the second. The space rule arrays of the Space-time Palace were surrounded by so much mystery that he couldn't sense any trail leading to theoutside world.
"Avatar! I am trapped in this space array.” Darren tried sending a message to his avatar in the hopesof getting some help.
But he never got a response.
This confirmed his previous worries. Luther had informed him that the injury he had obtained on hissoul was so extensive that his avatar had also suffered heavily from it. The severity of it pushed hisavatar to the brink of death.
Up until now, doubts had been creeping up on him, niggling at the back of his mind, as hewondered if his avatar had recovered.
His reverie was interrupted, however, when he heard a loud crack coming from somewhere.
He looked up and was amazed to see the ceiling tremble again until it began to collapse. Cloudsrolled out like giant tornadoes. And when they began to scatter, it formed swirls of nebulas in theair.
A man shot out from the clouds and landed before Darren
From his helmet down to his feet, the man wore black. There was no way for Darren to discern theface behind the headgear.
Thunder cracked and lightening hissed behind him like snakes. The man was a terrifying sight tobehold.
Suddenly, Darren found himself trembling and cowering under an aggressive aura. It was like an iceto his heart, and it numbed his whole body.
"Holy crap!
I hope this isn't the four-tribulation junior holy warrior that they were talking about,” Darrenmuttered.
"Kneel down!"
The black-armored man's voice roared down at Darren like a torrent of icy cold water.
"Who are you? Why should I kneel to you?" Darren snapped.
It was becoming apparent to him that this must be another resurrected corpse. But it was bafflinghow it seemed to have a mind of its own and arrogant at that.
Darren knew that a tribulation holy warrior who had a mind of his own was very hard to deal with.Even those in the low level would prove to be difficult for him to defeat.
Judging by this one's domineering aura and manners, it was likely that he would be far strongerthan the two-tribulation inferior holy warrior that he had just defeated.
"I won't kneel down. Go to hell!"
Darren forced himself to remain calm. He pushed away the fear threatening to well up inside him."You are nothing but a puppet. I don't think you will truly kill me," he added scornfully.
He knew that this man was simply a weapon wielded by the Space-time Palace. He had no controlof his actions. But Darren could also sense that this man didn't wish to kill him either for if he hadintentions of killing him, he would have done it a while ago without hesitation.
Then, a shadow jumped out of the darkness and stood beside the black-armored man.
"You sure do have some guts.”
"I'm flattered to hear that, but please, who are you?" Darren asked, sarcastically. Up to this point, heknew that a fight would be inevitable especially since he still couldn't replace an escape.
"Call me Misty Emperor!" the shadow replied.
Darren rolled his eyes at that. "Everyone in the world wants to become a holy emperor nowadays. And then they call themselves that when in fact they're only pretending to be one.”
The shadow stepped towards Darren, threateningly.
"According to the information I got about you, you mentioned many times that you've seen a holyemperor somewhere.”
The shadow had disregarded personal boundaries as he got close enough to Darren for their breathto mingle in the scant space between them. "Is that true?"
Then, a loud rumble cut through the air.
The ground shook violently and everything around them began to collapse. Layer by layer, thespace began peeling off until Darren could only feel an indomitable aura enveloping him wholly.
