Talented Martial Hero
Chapter 877 Torture (Part Two)

"Fine by me! If I cannot dodge the call of death one way or another, I would rather die with thatsecret. I take comfort in the fact that you have absolutely no idea where to seek for those crystalsthat you so desperately want.” There was a tone of mockery in Darren's voice that irked the MistyEmperor even more.

"You dratted little vermin! Do you really think I will give you a quick and painful death? It seems tome that you do not know what true horror is,” the Misty Emperor said eerily. He secretly hoped thathe could dig information out of Darren with his threat of imminent torture.

However, Darren countered, "I dare say that the worst thing you could do to me is to torture mysoul, which I happen to have suffered for many times before. I'm quite accustomed to any form ofpain you may possibly inflict on me, but I still encourage you to do your best. I have to tell you that Icannot remember a time that I considered surrendering no matter how much pain I bored.” Darrengrinned while a light of resolve and firmness came over his eyes.

"Really? 1 would be glad to witness your first time conceding.”

With those words, the Misty Emperor began his attack. A gust of soul attack dashed out from hisbody and aimed directly into Darren's head.

In a second, Darren felt the intensity of the assault. Surprisingly, the Misty Emperor's attackstretched its force all over his soul in the most compelling and shortest amount of time that henever remembered enduring a severer one.

The rage of the soul attack began to spread in his head. Its green power gradually stirred that hishead had started to feel like a vessel of boiling water. Darren's body began to steam as well.

He knew he had to withstand the pain no matter how terrible it would get. Darren was aware thathe had to hold on; if he failed, death would surely come upon him.

After a moment of tussle with the soul attack, a sudden change began to take place.

As the green power of the soul attack grew rapid and dense in his head, it seemed to Darren thatthe deed somewhat activated the strange stone inside him. Like a wild beast that had laid eyes on aprey after a long time of hunger, the stone began to swirl frantically. Then, it emanated a blaze ofdark golden light.

The twelve faces of the strange stone started to release a bizarre and frightening aura. Soon, thegreen power of the Misty Emperor's attack was swallowed whole! The green power faded, gaspingin the dark like a smoke that had been blown away by a tempestuous wind.

“Amazing! Why didn't I ever notice its potency?" Darren thought.

While relief from the pain eased his mind, Darren could not help but wonder about the potential ofthe ungraded strange stone.

After all, he had just encountered a soul attack from a half-step emperor of high power. It was veryunlikely that he could shun such perils without a trump card.

Although he was pleased, Darren did not reveal that he had turned immune to the pain brought bythe soul attack. He knew that once he did, the Misty Emperor would use more horrible andagonizing means to torture him.

Thus, Darren decided to keep the show going. He threw himself to the ground as if a sudden burstof great pain had struck him. Then, he started to writhe and twist his face as if he was reallyenduring the sharp pangs of the soul attack.

"Ah! Ah! Ah!"

Darren howled.

However, the disguised pain was different from the real torture. Darren was afraid that the cover-uppain would be detected by the Misty Emperor, so in order for his act to look real and convincing, heintentionally tore his own soul a little.

At that point, the pain indeed came from the bottom of his heart. He let out a tremendous cry andcowered while he held his head in his hands.

The Misty Emperor laughed with satisfaction.

"I thought you said you could endure any kind of pain thrown at you? Ha-ha-ha! Oh well, I'm notreally in a hurry to know the whereabouts of your crystals. I will get back to you after three months.Let's see if you have changed your mind by then."

The Misty Emperor jeered at Darren as he started to walk away. He knew that Darren would sooncompromise and give away all the information regarding the location of the crystals

Before he left, he released three more soul attacks towards Darren.

However, little did he know that the soul attacks were all completely devoured by the strange stonein Darren's brain.

At last, the Misty Emperor disappeared and left Darren under the black-armored man's watch.

In order not to expose himself, Darren continued to wail and roll on the ground.

The black-armored man came over and looked at Darren with pitiful eyes under his broken helmet. In the past, he was revived with the help of the Misty Emperor. However, the reward did not comewithout payment. The black-armored man may have regained his own consciousness, but in return, the Misty Emperor had conquered his soul and had taken him in his service.

Because of that debt, he could never betray the Misty Emperor. If he did, he would suffer the samekind of torture as Darren.

"Lad, you are no match for him in strength," the black-armored man said. "If my soul were only notunder his control, I would try my best to escape from here. If I had the chance, I would kill himthousands of times!"

"Really?"

A voice suddenly echoed. The black-armored man's heart skipped a beat. Without hesitation, hethought it was the Misty Emperor. Therefore, he immediately knelt down and hid his face behind hisbroken helmet. He trembled with the utmost fear, while his face turned deathly pale.
