Talented Martial Hero -
Chapter 894 Get The Corpse Successfully
It seemed like the red lightning had entered Darren's bones and flesh. Now, he could feel nothingbut pain enveloping his whole body.
The Misty Emperor looked at his current predicament in satisfaction.
"You almost killed me last time. Now I will end you once and for all!"
The Misty Emperor then released another soul attack. It descended around the tall platform as redlightning frantically attacked any creature closest to it.
This was the reason why he had lured Darren there.
Bolts of red lightning cackled menacingly in the stone chamber.
Together, they formed a nebula-like vortex that circled around Darren.
As soon as the lightning struck, his body would perish like smoke. No matter what he did now, therewould be no escape.
"Phew!" It terrified him to think that the force of the red lightning was no less powerful than thethunder punishment.
A horrible rumble ran through the air.
The swirling nebula around Darren darted towards him all of a sudden
To counter the attack, he hastily gathered the power of the Shura Force. A bloody red light burst outof him and painted the whole stone chamber scarlet with its light.
Even if the Misty Emperor was in his soul-state, he was still affected by the bloody light.
"Ahhh!"
The Misty Emperor suddenly cried out in pain. His soul was being torn apart until great cracksformed on it. The severe pain he was suffering from was enough to distract him from Darren'sconditions.
Amid the red light, a lightning struck at Darren, but to his surprise, he didn't feel it sting at all.
In fact, it seemed to have flown through his meridians and went straight to his elixir field.
And when it reached his elixir field, his violent breath immediately attempted to quell it.
The blade and sword cores began to spin simultaneously until they burst out to charge towards thered lightning.
"Pfft!"
Sharp pain stabbed Darren's belly and he spurted out blood instantly.
The blade and sword intents dispersed in the air without doing any damage to the lightning. Thisresulted in the pyramid in his elixir field spinning and spewing out a large amount of olive-blackforce. It swirled around the red lightning. But the force cowered back each time it dared touch thered lightning.
With nothing in its way, the red lightning broke itself into two. One separated force fell inside thedark crystal while the other went inside the primitive spear in his elixir field.
Darren let out a loud roar.
It was difficult to tell whether it was because of the pain he was suffering or because of his newlyrefreshed state.
One thing was sure, though. His Dark Force and Primitive Fighting Force had grown tremendously. The process didn't take long, but it felt like a lifetime for him to experience such improvement. After everything had settled down, the blood red light around him slowly receded.
Not far from him, the Misty Emperor was curled up in a corner, groaning in extreme pain and agony. Now that he was no longer pinned down by the red lightning, Darren leaped towards the MistyEmperor.
"If I'm not mistaken, it seems like my Bloody Shura Force has improved greatly. Thank you verymuch.” Darren smiled down at him, but his eyes still held a murderous glint.
The Misty Emperor turned at him upon hearing those words. Fear was evident on his face as hestared at Darren. It made him speechless for a while.
"No, no, no," he whimpered. Like a dog, he began to wail and beg for Darren's mercy.
"You don't have to struggle anymore. I've decided to kill you now anyway.”
The Misty Emperor continued to whine. He rolled back and forth as he did.
When suddenly, Darren's sword and blade swept out at him and split his soul into hundreds andthousands of pieces.
All these happened in a blink of an eye.
The Misty Emperor's soul dissipated, giving him no chance to come back to life ever again.
"Damn it, you filthy lord!" Darren cursed. All the while, he began assimilating the lord's talents."Well... I admit that the guy is still very talented,” Darren mused.
He shivered as soon as he finished assimilating. It felt as if his head was about to break.
The feeling, however, quickly receded when Darren ignored it. Soon, he was beginning to feelbetter.
He walked up to the corpse that was just lying there and took a closer look at it.
The cadaver was still full of firm muscles as if it hadn't died tens of thousands of years ago. In fact, itlooked like the body of a living person.
"His dark red skin is rare,” Darren murmured thoughtfully.
"Wait a minute! The dark red skin!" Darren's eyes roamed up and down the corpse, suddenlyrealizing that the hair on this body also had that same dark red color. It reminded him of the firstlord from the Mythological Palace.
"Is it possible the guy isn't a holy emperor who has survived the tribulations? Could he be a BloodyShura instead?"
The red hair all over this body was very similar to the first lord of the Mythological Palace.
"There are many ways to create the red lightning. It doesn't have to be by the tribulation holywarriors," Darren concluded to himself. The first time he saw a tribulation holy warrior summon thered lightning, Darren suspected that the first lord from the Mythological Palace was a holy emperorwho had survived tribulations. But now, he might be proven wrong.
And now that he had the chance to take a closer look at the corpse, he was certain that it was, infact, from the Bloody Shura race.
"The Bloody Shura race sure is intimidating.”
He went on with his inspection, searching for the hidden cultivation methods on the corpse's bodythat the Misty Emperor previously mentioned.
At first, it seemed there was nothing there at all. But when he turned the body over, he found manyobscure characters and patterns written down on its back.
There were millions of them spanning down the back. All of them were written so small in the sizeof a fingertip that Darren wouldn't have noticed them if it wasn't for the Misty Emperor's words.None of the characters seemed familiar to him, so he etched them deep within his mind. He wouldstudy them carefully the next time he would get the chance.
He repeatedly copied the patterns several times to make sure that he left nothing behind.
"This corpse would come in handy someday. I'll have to put it away for now for future use.”
As he was about to place the corpse inside his Space Ring, he suddenly changed his mind.
"Wait. I can't put the corpse here with the dark-spirit crystals. It'll be difficult if he resurrects ortransforms because of the crystals.
I should probably put it into the Ancient Void Battlefield.”
Darren then activated the force of control to connect with the Ancient Void Battlefield and placedthe dead body there.
Suddenly, a deep rumble began to shake the entire area.
Mountains and rivers in the Ancient Void Battlefield started to collapse. They cowered and trembledunder the immense pressure of the corpse.
Darren hastily mustered up his strength to send it to the cave where the immortal had previouslystayed. As soon as it was safely tucked inside the cave, the entire Ancient Void Battlefield calmeddown.
"Scott and the others are still in the Space Ring. Maybe I should transfer them to the Ancient VoidBattlefield as well?" Darren pondered on this for a while.
Back when Darren and his companions were imprisoned, he did not dare hide Scott and the othersin the Ancient Void Battlefield for fear that it might collapse under their sheer force. After all, Scottand the others were all senior holy warriors. Their powers, when combined, would be too much tobear.
Since Darren's cultivation base was only at the junior holy warrior's level, the Ancient Void Battlefieldwasn't quite stable. It didn't matter how strong he was because the Ancient Void Battlefield was onlydependent on his cultivation base level.
And anyway, Scott and the others were tortured by the soul attacks, and they would suffer greatpains for the rest of their life if he didn't beat them to a near-death state.
"Never mind. It's not safe for them to enter the cave. There's too much spiritual energy in theAncient Void Battlefield. If the energe heals their wounds and they wake up by themselves, theirsouls might end up getting tortured again.”
With that, he decided not to transfer his companions into the cave. He just had to replace a way toescape from here and replace a powerful rule cultivator to save them from the soul attack.
Packing up, he flew out of the cave.
He cruised over the vast land, urging himself to go as fast as he could along the way he had come.It didn't take long for him to get out of the Space-time Palace and reach where Chaz was waiting. But as he came nearer to Chaz, a dreadful sensation filled Darren. There were two old, blue-skinnedmen beside Chaz. They seemed to be interrogating him.
Darren stood back to analyze their breath only to replace out that they were close to being half-stepemperors.
"Good."
Darren smiled mysteriously.
