The shadow furiously glared at Barnes and a strong killing intent emanated from his body.

"Oh?" Barnes smirked. Wasn't this shadow Hiram?

"I didn't expect that your soul would still be around. It's useless, however," Barnes murmured."Why are you helping the fiend?"

the shadow asked coldly. Although he was but a fragment of Hiram, he could still recognize Barnes.He did not understand what he was doing.

"Telling you would be useless.” Barnes didn't want to explain anything to him.

Hiram raised his hand and a tremendous holy emperor's power came down like a torrent.

Barnes narrowed his eyes. This attack contained at least eighty percent of Hiram's strength when hewas alive. Barnes felt the tension rise in the air.

A stick shadow met Hiram's palm.

The ground cracked. Thick smoke filled the area. The two forces clashed, tearing the rule silkthreads.

Back in the Sacred Palace, Darren awoke with a start.

He heard the loud crash and immediately flew out to investigate.

He raised his head and looked up. A large, thick cloud loomed in the sky and bursts of light wereshining just behind it.

He looked around. He could sense the aura of a genuine emperor, which sent a chill down his spine.“Barnes, ' Darren thought, frowning.

He should have expected that Barnes would not give up so easily.

Darren was just about to fly out when he felt a hand hold him back.

“Don't, Darren."

It was Chandler.

"Why? I have to stop Barnes. After all, we are friends,” Darren said.

Chandler gave him a bitter smile. "In the eyes of those people, there is no friendship. You goingthere would be in vain. If he turns on you, you will be in big trouble.”

"But."

Chandler nodded and said, "Good. Keep your calm. The passageway to the eighteen cities is aboutto open. Just wait for it. I must go now. I wish you well on your travels.”

Darren knew that Chandler must go to the forbidden area to investigate. Thousands of innocentlives were at stake.

Just as Chandler was about to leave, several figures flew into the air towards the forbidden area."They are reclusive cultivators of our human race. They got here just in time." Chandler smiled,pleased.

As the power of the halberd increased, the fiend's arm let out a ferocious roar.

Suddenly, the earth shook. Black smoke rose up. As soon as they saw the smoke, several of thesenior holy warriors rushed into it.

"What?" Barnes raised his head and looked up.

He had consumed much of his power in the battle with the Hiram the Great's shadow. He lookedaround him and saw powerful cultivators surrounding him.
