Talented Martial Hero -
Chapter 904 The Thief
Everyone was amazed by the extraordinary skill used to freeze the thunder punishment. Wondershone in their eyes.
After the thunder punishment solidified, the immortal slowly came forward. Her steps were cautiousand measured.
Suddenly, a slap could be heard.
The immortal had struck the thunder tribulation with her palm
Cracks grew on the surface of the frozen thunderbolt. They multiplied and grew until the entirething shattered into pieces like glass.
The shards then turned into rays of scarlet aura. They flew into the immortal's hand, sinking into herbody.
"Is she absorbing the thunder punishment?"
The Inner Fiend watched the scene unfold in complete awe. An indescribable feeling churned insidehim. He was torn between admiration and jealousy.
The immortal carefully moved on to the next frozen thunderbolt and shattered it. And just like thefirst time, she absorbed the blood red aura into her body. She did this several more times.
From behind the tribulation cloud, a pair of silvery eyes peered back at the immortal.
It followed the immortal's every move. Its silvery light seemingly became more intense as the pair ofeyes greedily watched.
Sensing that the pair of eyes were watching her, the immortal's face contorted in anger.
She unleashed a strand of rule force straight at the pair of eyes.
It ripped a hole in the sky and the earth shook. The entire air grew heavy with the turbulence of therule force, gathering up its power. But instead of heading straight at its target, it veered off courseand made its way towards the immortal. The eyes must have done something to divert its course."You dirty rat!" the immortal shouted.
From afar, Finley stared at the eyes with great bewilderment.
He would have known those pair of silver eyes anywhere because those were Darren's eyes.
As far as he knew, Darren had given those silvery eyes to his avatar before he split his soul into two. That could only mean one thing: Darren's avatar was here.
"It's our master's avatar! What is he doing here?" The Water Kylin had also recognized Darren'savatar. He turned to Finley, mirroring the same confused look on his face.
"I don't know, but I think he's trying to steal things from the immortal,” Finley answered with afrown.
"What? How can he be so bold?" the Water Kylin exclaimed.
"Keep your voice down! We'll soon replace out what he's up to anyway." Finley glared at the WaterKylin, successfully silencing him. The subject was immediately dropped.
The immortal hovered in the air. She was all poised and dangerous as a cold, piercing killing intentswirled around her. It was evident her aura was more intense than Mathew's killing sword intent.Though the immortal's attack was terrifying to look at, it still wasn't powerful enough to finish offthe silvery eyes. In fact, it resulted to an even stronger counterattack. The silvery eyes cast a ruleforce towards her, preventing her from absorbing more of the thunder punishment.
The damage would have been lethal to anyone, but it wouldn't be a big deal to an immortal.
She then let out her immortal energy, letting it tear through the rule force as if it was just a sheet ofpaper.
She made it look easy, but the back of her mind was telling her that something was wrong.
"You punk!” she roared angrily at Darren's avatar, cursing him vehemently. Her voice was so full offury that she could barely contain it.
At her distracted state, a palm slipped out of the chasm in between the remaining frozen thunderpunishment. Before she could even react, it began punching at the frozen thunder punishment.
A series of loud clatters echoed in the air.
Shards of a dozen broken thunderbolts flew everywhere. It was as if it was raining with glass. The airwas choked up with its furious aura, catching the immortal off guard. She was forced to staggerbackwards.
Amid the chaotic scene, a deep rumble shook the sky.
The pieces of thunder punishment transformed into a giant gust of dark red aura. It surged throughthe chasm, flowing out like a great torrent of water.
"Go to hell!"
With the thunder punishment slipping away, the immortal grew even more livid. She hadn'texpected someone would attempt to steal the power of the thunder punishment from her.
She was so bent on the case that her spiritual aura surged uncontrollably from her body. It reachedout to the chasm, trying to block the power’s escape.
But she was too late. The rest of the power of the thunder punishment had already slipped throughthe cracks, leaving no traces behind. Moreover, the pair of silvery eyes had vanished along with it."You treacherous thief! You think you can get away from me that easily?" she howled. Her eyesalmost glowed red in fury.
With her bare hand, she smashed everything around her from within a radius of hundreds ofthousands of kilometers in just one blow. Nobody could dare insult her like this and get away withit. With that, she stretched out her senses, searching frantically for Darren's avatar.
Gradually, her body began to fade away as she slowly slipped into the chaotic space chasm.
Her departure had also faded away the tribulation clouds in the sky until they completely vanished. It revealed the dilapidated state of the ground below. Magma covered every inch of the land whileblack smoke rose up in the air, filling the world up with black soot.
"Everyone, let's work together to push the magma back to the earth,”
Chandler called out before flying out first.
The others followed after him. Then, with all their strength, Finley, the Water Kylin and all the othersenior holy warriors began suppressing the magma down.
"We're lucky that things didn't get any worse. At least it didn't spread farther and affect the otherareas. Otherwise, millions would have died," Chandler said.
He released a gleaming lotus. It cast its cyan light at the magma, forcing it back into the ground. With all the magma gone down from the chasms, the senior holy warriors, who had mastered theRule of the Earth, immediately patched up the tear in the void and restored the broken landMeanwhile, back in the forbidden area.
The Inner Fiend had suffered great pains and damages after his face off with the thunderpunishment. His whole body ached, and not a single bone remained intact. As for Barnes, hisinjuries would require several months of treatment.
"I'm going to assimilate you now. Do you think you can still blow yourself up?"
Slowly, the Inner Fiend walked over to Barnes.
He knew that Barnes would be too weak now to even stand up—much less, have the energy toexplode.
Barnes resentfully glared at the Inner Fiend. Cold fury slithered in his heart, hissing ferociously at theInner Fiend.
"Hey, what are you doing?”
The Water Kylin suddenly interrupted. He immediately stood in between the Inner Fiend and Barnes.Annoyed at the disruption, the Inner Fiend swiped at the Water Kylin with his stick.
"What? You want to help him?" he growled.
"You're still no match for me even after I got injured by the thunder punishment.”
He spat in disdain, and his hold on his stick remained steady and firm.
"Are you forgetting about me?" A white figure landed next to the Water Kylin. It was none otherthan Finley himself.
Upon his arrival, he muttered a spell under his breath where rays of light sparked out of him. Seeingthis, the Inner Fiend became hesitant and unsure.
The Inner Fiend could only roar as he covered his eyes from the bright flashing lights. Fear clawedfrantically at his heart. He could feel himself tremble as Finley's aura bore down on him. It had thesame potency as the suppression force on Barnes.
Since the Inner Fiend and Barnes came from the same lineage, any force that could suppress Barnescould also suppress him.
Therefore, the Inner Fiend had every reason to be intimidated by Finley's presence. He wasdangerous.
"Don't you forget us!"
Caroline, Luther and the mutated monkey came over to join Finley as well.
At this point, the Inner Fiend was losing his confidence. With his current injuries, he wouldn't stand achance against these powerful figures. Moreover, the man in white garment could surely suppresshim even if he did win against the others. If that happened, he would end up in the same situationas Barnes.
But the temptation to assimilate Barnes had not faltered. He had been waiting for this chance forages. He couldn't just let it go that easily.
After debating on this for a moment, he decided to plunge headfirst into danger. He would fightthese people. After all, if he were to defeat one in a single blow, the others would soon follow thesame fate. But if he ever failed, he could always replace a chance to flee.
By quickly analyzing his opponents, he identified the mutated monkey as the weakest link.
"Good." He chuckled. It made him sound slightly unhinged, but he was satisfied with his target. With a swish, he turned into a shadow, and rushed towards the mutated monkey.
"I just knew you would play dirty!" The Water Kylin snorted with contempt as he stepped forward towaylay the Inner Fiend's attack. He slashed at him with his claws.
Bang!
Both the Water Kylin and the mutated monkey were thrown through the air by the Inner Fiend.Fortunately, neither of the two was badly hurt.
"Damn it!"
The Inner Fiend had lost his opportunity. His plan to kill the mutated monkey was derailed. Out ofdesperation, he turned to Finley.
He tried distracting his other enemies with his attacks, preventing them from unleashing their mostprominent skills. He hoped this would buy him more time in taking them out one by one.
However, Finley had already seen right through his plans.
"The Space Cracks!" he shouted.
The whole space shifted.
It broke asunder, breaking off into formless regions that only Finley could navigate through with hishigh level Spatial Rule.
The Inner Fiend rained down a thousand continuous attacks at Finley, but it seemed like he couldnever get a hit on him. Every time, his punches only fell on a shadow that served as Finley's decoy."You are so greedy."
Finley's voice rang out as he began to chant another spell. A wave of light crested and swirledaround the Inner Fiend.
A shout pierced through the air.
Horror dawned on the Inner Fiend as his last shred of hope slipped from his fingers.
