Talented Martial Hero -
Chapter 974 The Murder
One thousandth of the remaining Primitive Fighting Force was fatal to Darren
With Darren's current cultivation base, he couldn't withstand it.
In the blink of an eye, Darren's palms began to crack. Soon, his bones shattered, and his fleshmelted as the Primitive Fighting Force flowed along his arms.
"Ha-ha, that guy is going to die!"
"I thought he was a skilled warrior. Now, it appears as though he is going to be smashed to pieces.”At that moment, Darren stared at his arms with disbelief. Horror coursed through him at thethought that he was doomed.
"Resurrection!"
A cold and ruthless voice suddenly echoed in Darren's mind.
Then, a strange force cascaded through Darren's body. It dispelled the threat of death and infusedlife into every inch of him.
Darren's arms recovered at visible speed and the Primitive Fighting Force that was threatening hisexistence vanished.
"It's my avatar!" Darren was overjoyed. He knew who had saved him as only his avatar could use theResurrection Force.
"My avatar, have you come into the holy emperor's tomb as well?" Darren used his spiritual sense tocommunicate with his avatar.
"No. I need more time. Just now, my spiritual sense infused with the Resurrection Force reachedyou. Are you all right?" the Rule Soul Avatar replied
"Yes. Thank you for your assistance,” Darren voiced his gratitude.
"You are welcome. But there is no need to be so formal. After all, we share the same soul. You mustbe careful in the future. As we are not in the same space, it is extremely difficult for me to help you.I'm afraid that I won't be able to save you a second time,” the Rule Soul Avatar explained.
"l understand.”
Then, the Rule Soul Avatar's spiritual sense dissipated.
Darren remained unharmed despite Aven's attack.
This surprised everyone. Only a brief moment ago, Darren had been on the verge of death, but astrange and strong aura had suddenly appeared and helped him regenerate. This was amazing."He must have concealed his strength!”
"Yes. It's the only explanation. Otherwise, how did he recover so soon?"
"It seems that he is not as simple as he appears to be."
The crowd whispered amongst themselves as they felt that they had underestimated Darren.
"This guy is stronger than I anticipated, and the aura he released is quite strange as well. Judgingfrom its power, it would take me a lot of effort to resist it," Yusuf, the patriarch of the tribe, muttered softly.
He couldn't help but be enamored by the Resurrection Force that came with an aura of life anddeath. It was indeed powerful and unpredictable.
"Ha-ha, your strength is superb. I admire you.” Yusuf laughed lightly as he walked closer to Darren. When he turned to face Aven, however, his expression turned grim.
"Aven, you have offended Mr. Chu. I must punish you today!" he roared. Everyone present wasshocked by this sudden change in the patriarch’s demeanor.
Their gaze flew to Aven as they wondered if the patriarch had decided to kill him.
Aven found it difficult to accept the fact that he couldn't hurt Darren despite having used all of hisstrength. How was he supposed to kill someone he couldn't hurt?
When he heard the patriarch’s roar, his heart sank. What should he do now that he had offendedthe ancestor's friend? Could there be a way to remedy the situation?
At a loss, Aven felt as if he was falling into an abyss as he hopelessly waited for the punishment."Aven, since you attacked Mr. Chu, you have been disrespectful to the ancestor. I should kill you!"Yusuf roared again.
Aven's mind went blank. He couldn't think of a single thing to say in his defense.
Intense apprehension and anxiety overwhelmed him to the point where Aven almost fainted.
He wanted to beg for mercy, but he felt like a fishbone was stuck in his throat. Speechless, he fell tohis knees.
"Patriarch, Aven is too young to understand the world. And he has always been silly. Please forgivehim. Don't kill him."
"Yes. You have watched him grow. Please spare his life.”
Many clansmen knelt as well to plead for mercy.
"Mr. Chu, what do you think?" Yusuf glanced at Darren.
Darren knew that he must make the decision.
Yusuf was sophisticated and cunning. He knew that Darren, as a friend of the ancestor, was a guestin the tribe, and so, he was certain that Darren would not kill Aven. In giving the responsibility of thedecision to Darren, the patriarch would save face should he decide to spare Aven.
"Young men are willful. I won't consider his actions as offensive enough to merit a death sentence. You can just give him a small punishment,” Darren said calmly.
"Ha-ha, you are so magnanimous.” The patriarch smiled as he turned to the young man. "Aven, bearfifty thousand kilograms of weight, face the wall, and ponder over your misdeed for three monthsYou should thank Mr. Chu for sparing your life," the patriarch ordered.
"Yes, yes. Thank you."
Aven kowtowed as relief coursed through him. He had, after all, just avoided a disaster.
Still kneeling, he cupped his hands and said, "Thank you for your mercy, Mr. Chu. Thank you verymuch."
Darren nodded with feigned indifference. Aven's action had helped him trigger the primitive crystal.Sparing his life was a compensation Darren could afford in return.
Now that the matter had ended, the remaining tribe members left. The patriarch ordered thatDarren be provided with the best residence.
Darren sat cross-legged on a precious beast hide in a stone house.
"The primitive crystal has been triggered. Next, I'll activate the dark crystal,” Darren muttered. Hewas thrilled as he had accidentally met someone who cultivated the Primitive Fighting Force. Thischance encounter had allowed him to trigger the primitive crystal earlier than expected.
In the future, if he could replace the Dark Force, he could trigger the dark crystal similarly. Once bothcrystals were triggered, he could cultivate the Shura Force in the ancient times as the formulas forfusing the two skills were still imprinted in his mind
With that thought, Darren immersed himself in cultivation. After all, improving his cultivation baseand enhancing the strength of the Primitive Fighting Force were his goals.
Three months passed.
Darren had been focused on his cultivation during this time, and nobody had dared to disturb him.One day, Darren was awakened by a loud noise. Something seemed to have happened in the tribe.Darren was among the grand warriors at the top-level. However high his talent was, it was stilldifficult for him to make it to the Holy Realm. Even if he continued to cultivate, there would be nobenefit for him. The disturbance thus presented Darren with the opportunity to take a break. Hedecided to fly out and investigate what had happened.
As soon as he exited his stone house, Darren saw people discussing something intensely."Patriarch, please seek justice for Jamie. He was cut into dozens of pieces by that bastard!"
A woman cried as she fell to the ground.
The patriarch standing in the middle of the crowd looked ghastly pale.
"Ray, what information did you get? Did a member of the Dark Tribe kill Jamie?" Yusuf asked a thinyoung man, who stood beside him
"Yes. My poor Jamie died so miserably,” Ray, the thin young man, replied as he closed his blood-shot eyes and suppressed a sob.
"Humph!" Yusuf snorted in anger.
"The Dark Tribe has gone too far! How dare they send masters to kill the backbone of our tribe?! Iwould not be a competent patriarch unless I take revenge!" Yusuf remarked coldly.
"Ray, did you replace out who killed him? Which master is responsible?"
"Well..." Ray froze when he heard the question. He seemed reluctant to reveal the culprits identity."Don't worry. Just tell me," Yusuf urged.
"Okay." Ray nodded before he continued, "According to my gopher friend, he saw a humanteenager, who rode an ape, kill Jamie.”
Ray could obtain accurate information because he had a special skill that enabled him tocommunicate with all kinds of beasts. That was why he said his gopher friend had witnessed theyoung man kill Jamie.
Darren, who was standing behind them, was reminded of a man when he heard Ray's description.Could it be Yahya?
