Verse 4-The Beetle Bus

Upon entering theBeetle Bus Sebastian wasn’t allowed to sit with Jyro so the stewards on thevehicle escorted him away to stay with the luggage below. The young lady ledthe way as Jyro followed behind her and watched as she actively dashed from booth to booth looking for aplace to sit, “lovely this will do for us “she said so they took their seat inan empty booth with adjacent seats. The BB began to move and as the wheelsslowly geared up the bus begun to accelerate faster and faster, before you knewit the vehicle was darting off gliding through the bridge like a boat does onwater. The whole experience was new to Jyro and he sat staring out the windowin awe for a few moments lost for words at the sight, “wow how fast are wegoing” he asked, with the speed where going we should reach the city in no timeright” he said, “approximately 210mph and the ETA should be about 2-3 hours consideringthe bridge currently stretches for 340 miles so it shouldn’t be too long”, Jyrogazed at the girl in amazement whilst she spoke. She removed off her hoodedcoat and her vibrant blue hair immediately caught the young boy’s attention,Jyro stared at the girl for a few moments marveling at the colour of her hair,whilst he continued to stare the girl caught him gazing at her “what is it... Isthere something on my face” she asked, “n-n no not really, I was just wonderinghow comes you know so much about this stuff” said Jyro whilst he nervouslytried to steady his words, “Well I travel a lot you see since my parents live inthe rural planes and I attend the academy in Canta so I tend to pick up these thingsto keep my mind busy you know…. By the way where are you coming from” she askedcuriously whilst looking up and down at the boy’s attire. Jyro felt uneasy tofully tell his life story to the girl he had just met and sat in silence for afew moments thinking of what to say, but the girl quickly sensed his uneasinessand decided to take control of the situation, “ it’s ok don’t feel forced totalk if you don’t want to…ahem…my name is Tristine Morrowind please to be of youracquaintance” she said , “nice to meet you Tristine , my names Jyro Thomas”.

The two kidscontinued to converse with one-another talking about different things that theyknow, meanwhile the outside still pictured the same scenery of the rockydessert that seemed to span as wide as one’s eyes could see. Jyro glancedoutside momentarily and his mind began to ponder, “why is there no greeneryaround here it’s quite a gloomy sight like a deserted wasteland” he said,Tristine looked out of the window also then answered Jyros question “Long agothe world was hit by a terrible disaster called the hells gate Tragedy wheredemons and monsters suddenly appeared out of nowhere and wiped out a lot of humancivilization , many rural landmarks and historical places were scorched fromthe flames and they were reduced to nothing but rubble and what you see outthere is what’s left of some places, Our civilization couldn’t deal with thesudden constant attacks and decided to focus on the capital cities where theydeemed of more importance, so they protected those places with huge walls andhigh level military assistance which left the poorer areas to fend forthemselves….. obviously as you can see they couldn’t do much on their own” whilstTristine spoke of the poorer areas Jyro noticed a change in her expression anda sad atmosphere suddenly formed around her, “hey check this out” he said , he thenraised his two fingers and focused intently, moments later electricity began tospark between his fingertips “ woooow, is that… is that a lightning brand whata rare ability where in heavens did youlearn that” Tristine exclaimed whilst pressing her face closer to Jyros “er..ermi…” stuttered a blushing Jyro “you’ve got to show me it again right away, show me now” she persisted whilstTristine jabbered on in excitement she accidentally gripped onto Jyros twofingers. “Ha-ha whoops please forgive me for that” she said nervously whilstimmediately letting go off the boys fingertips “I get carried away sometimeswhen I see amazing things…but that’s an amazing brand, I heard there was onlyone guy who could do that so I guess you must be someone quite famous then”said Tristine, Jyro really didn’t understand why she was so fascinated byseeing his ability but slowly begun to realize just how special Jack Sterlingis.

“Do you know what dorm you’re staying in, isit Claire, Emmanuel or Kings?” she asked, “I’m not too sure I was giveninstructions to replace a man named Earnest Kobi that’s all I really know, do youhappen to know him?” he asked “ahh yes- yes I just so happen to, well I guesseveryone kind of knows him he’s the headmaster at Canta academy” said Tristine.An announcement was suddenly made on the Beetle Bus “ladies and gentlemen willbe entered a field filled with lesser demons therefore we urge you strongly toremain in your seats as we will be increasing our speed shortly….” Lesserdemons on the way?” Jyro asked confusingly? “yeah Their monsters that roam therural planes around the earth their known to reside around deserted areas” repliedTristine “what are you serious, will we be ok then” Jyro asked in panic, “yesyes of course we will be just buckle up, this is what the Beetle busses weremade for and it’s about to get realllly bumpy” said the knowledgeable girl. Swoosh!the bus sped along the ground gaining speed, faster and faster tearing alongthe bridge, about 2 km away shelled 4 legged creatures littered around the desertall ranging in size, as the bb sped through them it crushed and knocked themout of the way in the process” hold on tight there’s a big one ahead” said thedriver through the announcement speaker, swoosh …skrrrrr, vroom , the busseslarge tires ripped through everything in its path bumping and turning as thebus tried to balance itself from knocking away the demons in the process . Oneof the Lesser demons ahead jumped onto the top of the BB, it clawed and hit theroof repeatedly to the fright of the passengers inside who were startled intheir seats, “no need to panic people we’ve got this covered….Hold on tightfolks” in less than a second later the BB spun in a 360 maneuver spinningwildly out of control which sent the monster mounted on top flying off,skrrrrrr sounded the tires, “aaaaaaah” Jyro screamed in distress. The BBeventually slowly leveled itself onto its correct course, “apologies for that folks,but we have safely exited the danger zone and are on a safe course to Cantacity.

“That……that wasAMAZINGG” Jyro screeched in excitement “yes-yes it was rather entertaining” saidTristine while she settled herself into a more relaxed stance in her seat. TheBeetle Bus made its way onto the last bridge and the Capital City Canta was in sights,the huge towering walls could be seen from afar and it looked like a hugesacred city surrounded by thick giant walls, Jyro was truly breathless at thesight of it. As the bus approached thewall further a large towering castle was seen beyond the wall, “is that the…”he asked, “yeah that’s the royal kingdom” replied Tristine, Jyro gazed inwonder at the huge blue castle that slowly appeared as they drew nearer.

The BB came to a completehalt so Tristine gathered up her things and proceeded out, “come on then Jyrowere already late for admissions “she said, the kids two made their way off thebus and Sebastian greeted them upon their exit. Up close the cities walls werehumungous and Jyro felt overwhelmed at the sight of the gates which slowlyopened up to let the arrivals in. The cities houses where all elegant andmodern it was nothing in comparison to the rural houses Jyro was used to seeingand he made sure his eyes remembered everything they were seeing, to him thiswas a lifelong opportunity. Tristine hastily tugged at his sleeves,” keep upand don’t get lost its really busy around here…so stay close to me” she said sothe young girl led Jyro through the busy city, they weaved and turned fromcorner to corner till they ended up on a road with the sign that read’ TrinityLane’. They crossed a small bridge that separated the academy from the city andas they done so Jyro peered over the bridge and looked down at the small riverthat ran benath there it was The Canta Academy, it stretched wide and toweredhigh like a dozen rows of castles stuck together, “whoa this place is huuuuge”Jyro exclaimed basking in the academies beauty, but Tristine was already in ahurry and had no time to sight see “yes-yes its big and beautiful ,Shall we beon our way then?” The young girl said as she hurryingly escorted Jyro to themain building.

The two kids madetheir way down the pathway that led to the Academy entrance and on each sidewas an open field of grass that spanned as wide as you could see, in Jyros mindhe was thinking of how green the grass looked and he had never smelt such afresh smell of grass before as he did at this moment, he tried his best to notlet the scenery grab his full attention as he knew he had to meet someone, andhis guide didn’t look to please at being slowed down. They continued down onthe long path leading to the entrance and as they got closer to the entrance Jyrosaw 4 statutes that were stationed along the side. Jyros attention was caughtby them and he gazed intently wondering who the figures where, “Tristine, whoare these people?” he asked , “The first 3 over there are known as the RoyalTrinity they were the protectors of the previous king and their names becamefamous throughout the world for their unique gifts and accomplishments on thebattlefield, first we have here The seeker known as Nala the lioness’, they sayshe could replace anyone on the battlefield, no matter where you were her arrowswould catch you like and eagle in the sky, “Hence why there’s two eagles on hershoulders. The one on the right was the Kings Ducem Merlin Albert he was themost gifted strategist that ever walked on the earth and his wisdom was likenothing ever seen in 1000 years since King Solomon” Jyro listened intently asTristine gave an account of the statue figures identity , “how about that oneover there… who’s that” he pointed to the furthest one away from them “ oh that’sthe previous King of Canta King Mars the most famous king to date : he devotedhis all in stopping the demons when they first came around, I even heardstories of him marching to the front lines himself ,the people of Canta trulyadored him you know, Canta has never been the same seen he died” Tristineexplained, “so whos in charge now… I mean whos the new…” he asked, “ the newleader that would be Queen Hada IV, she’s the apparent daughter of king Marsbut not everyone thinks so aha but that’s another matter entirely” shenervously said realizing she was derailing from topic. “Last of the Three isprobably the most controversial one ‘Demon Knight Eros’”, Jyro looked up at thefigured statue which gave off a huge presence, he wore a helmet with two longhorns coming out holding a very long sword, Jyro seemed to feel a certain way whilehe stared at the statue in deep thought, moments later Tristine snapped herfingers at him “you awake there..” she called out, “yeah sorry about that” Jyroresponded “ He was the Demon knight who appeared the same time the demons did,he was half human half demon and helped the king fight them during the last War,although people never truly accepted him I heard King Mars favored him almostlike a brother……. OH Heavens the Time, come on we’ve got to dash” said Tristinewho suddenly ran ahead in haste, meanwhile Jyro was still standing in front ofthe statue thinking about what Tristine had said, “ half man half demon” hethought to himself, the young boy deep in thought then peered down towards hiscursed arm and held it nervously.
