Chapter 232

LANDON POV

"How is she feeling Mum?" I asked my mother as she joined us in the living room.

"Better than before. I made her eat a little and now she's sleeping. She needs to sleep. I'm very sure when she wakes up she will be fine. She also cried and said some words to me." Mum answered.

I let out a sigh. I was feeling so relieved that she finally spoke to someone although I was sad that I am not the person she talked to but still it was better than her not talking to anyone at all.

I couldn't help but feel worried for my mate. I haven't heard her voice and I don't like how quiet she is. She wasn't acting like the Mira I know. She always loves to talk but seeing her so quiet today is so strange. I wish I could do something. Anything just to make her happy. I really hope that by tomorrow she will start talking to me. I badly want to be able to comfort her in every way that I can. I can't do that if she closes herself from me.

"I hope she really comes back to her normal self by tomorrow. I feel pity for her. She shouldn't be going through all this. I can't imagine how she is feeling right now." Luca said.

"I agree with you Luca. I just hope that she gets really better." Grey added.

"We all hope so too." Layla said

Someone knocked the door making Dad and Uncle Smith to stand up immediately. It was so strange for someone to knock on the door by this time of the night. Who could be there? Hope there isn't any problem because we are yet to solve the one in our front.... "WHO IS THERE?" Dad shouted.

"Sorry alpha. I am a guard who is positioned in the prison cells. There seems to be a problem with one of the men and it is very serious that's why I'm here." we heard.

"Alright I will come see what's wrong. Just hold on a bit." Dad said.

He and uncle Smith began to prepare to leave. I decided to join them because I didn't want to stay at home again. Since Mira was sleeping, I can go out because I'm very sure she won't wake up to look for me. I wanted to also know what was happening in the prison cell. "Dad can I come with you both? I don't think I can stay in the house." I said hoping he agrees.

He looked at me without saying anything then he turned and began to walk to the door. I stood not knowing what his answer was. He didn't say a word so it can mean I can go with him and at the same time it can also mean I can't go with him. So which one did he decide?

He stopped walking and without turning to look behind he said.

"Are you coming or not? Stop standing in that place and let's move we can't keep them waiting for us."

I quickly started walking to him. Right now that he is so serious, his fatherly side was also gone. It was now replaced with his alpha mode.

My Dad, uncle Smith and I walked to the prison cells. We got inside and the guards lead us to where the problem was coming from. I wasn't surprised when we stopped right in front of Mira father's cell. I looked at dad and just like me, he didn't show any reaction of being surprised.

The guard opened the door and we entered. Right in front of my very own eyes, I saw Mira's father tearing his skin with his claws. The look on his face didn't look like someone who was normal. His eyes were very dark and he looked just like a beast. It must be his wolf. His wolf was hurting him or rather himself. It looks so painful. I wonder if he is feeling any pain or he couldn't feel anything because it doesn't look like a good sight to see.

"When did this start?" Dad asked the guard who was standing behind him.

"It started since in the morning. We first heard him screaming. When we got here, he was rolling on the floor holding his chest. We didn't pay attention to him thinking he will stop when he gets exhausted. But it became worst during noon time. He began to injure himself with his own nails. When we saw that he wasn't stopping at all we decided to send for you." the guard answered.

"I see. Alright I need you to rush and get a doctor immediately. We need to inject him with some drugs that will knock him out. I'm very sure he isn't going to stop anytime soon and if he continues hurting himself, he might die and we don't want that. His still receiving punishment. So hurry up and get a doctor right now." Dad ordered.

The guard quickly rushed to do what he said while we kept standing, watching as we waited. The guard returned back with a doctor after some minutes have passed.

It was really hard to hold Mira's father down so before he can be injected we needed plenty of hands to hold him down before the doctor was able to inject him. After the doctor was done, those holding him let him go.

We watched as he slowly stopped struggling before laying on the floor looking so weak. He began to whimpers softly. I could hear him calling out for Sally numerous of times.

He was mourning his mate it's so obvious. Even though no one informed him about her death, he knew from their link and connection which they shared. Losing a mate is bad on both the human and his wolf. Most especially his wolf. He won't take it easy and if he isn't watched well, he might do something to harm someone.

For Charles case, his wolf is getting wild because his mate was not with him any longer we need to keep a watchful eyes on him every time so he won't do something drastic.

It was after we were certain that he has backed out completely before we left. Dad gave some instructions to make sure to watch over him and news should get to him when Mira's father wakes up.

The three of us left the prison cells and walked back home. The journey was a quiet one but it was a good thing that uncle Smith decided to break the silence.

"As much as I have been trying very hard not to say this but I don't think I can hold it in anymore. I must just say it out because it's true. But he truly deserves everything that is happening to him right." he said.

"He is been punished for what he has done to his family. Although it wasn't a good thing that Sally had to die but only her death can cause him so much pain as he is in right now." Dad said.

"Look Landon I know it's going to be hard for you but you need to be very very patient and take care of Mira. Even if she doesn't show it right now know that she needs you so much right now. You need to be there to comfort her. If she pushes you away, you can leave but come back shortly after. She needs all the support, care and attention right now. As you focus on her, we will watch out for her father. We can't let that man die anytime soon. He should feel every bit of the pain he caused his family. That's one of the reasons Sally sacrificed her life. So he could be in so much pain." uncle Smith said looking at me.

I nodded my head.

"I will try my best. I will stay with her and make sure I take good care of her. I know my roles already." I answered.

"Good boy. You make me remember those days when your father was young. Just like you he had to stay and comfort your mother in all her bad times especially when she found out she couldn't give birth. If he wasn't strong to look after her then I'm guessing you won't be all here you and your siblings. So just like your father did with his mate, you also should stick to your mate and never allow her face this phrase of hers alone." Uncle Smith added.

"Son his right. You have to be really strong. It won't be easy especially now that she's mourning her mother's death but don't give up. The harder to bring her out of the shell she has buried herself in." Dad said patting my back.

We got home and after explaining what happened in the prison cells, everyone began to leave one after the other. First it was Calvin and Layla who left because my dear sister was already sleeping. According to her, she was really tired. Then uncle Smith and aunt Maria and aunt Angel left next. Then Grey and Luca left last. After telling them farewell, I went upstairs to my bedroom. I sat on the bed and pushed the hair that was covering Mira's face. I smiled when I saw how peaceful she looked while sleeping. At least I wasn't seeing the sad and gloomy look she had on before.

I stood up and went to take a shower. I only put on some shorts before heading back to bed. I laid close to her and carefully moved her close to me gently so she won't wake up. I was happy when she wrapped her hand around my waist and moved close to me but her eyes were still closed. I kissed her forehead and closed my eyes. I began to think of ways to make her come back to the bubbling Mira we all knew.

"Landon" I heard her whisper.

I quickly pulled her closer to me again and kissed her forehead so she will be aware that I was there with her.

She let out a sigh before she continued breathing slowly which means she is sleeping again. My buttercup.

Although it's going to be hard but I will try my hardest best to make her happy once again.

I just have to make her come back. Although it might take some time for her to come back, I will never give up.
