Chapter 56

ROSIE POV

I woke up feeling so refreshed today. I don't know how to explain it but I feel so different this morning. Or is it because of the beer and wine I drank that is causing me to feel this way? Like an aftermath kinda thing. I thought. I decided to just ignore it. Maybe it's just me. I sat on my bed and looked around. My room felt so big today and everywhere was so quiet.

Loneliness is not a good thing.

I looked at the clock on the wall and my eyes went wide. It was noon already. I spent my whole morning sleeping.

It's a good thing no school today till tomorrow.

I thought of how to spend my day. I decided to just go to Mr Drew's restaurant today. It's been long I went there to work. I won't lie I missed going there. It's better to be busy attending to customers than to sit here alone. I left my bed and went to take my bath.

I wore my usual outfit big black top and sweatpants. I brushed my hair and packed it in a messy bun. was satisfied with the way I looked when I checked the mirror.

I locked my door and walked slowly. Some pack members walked pass me. I couldn't help but notice that they were staring at me in a weird way. Or maybe it's just me.

I shaked my head. I shouldn't think of things that doesn't make sense.

I finally arrived Mr Drew's restaurant. I opened the door and walked in feeling so happy with a big smile on my face. I walked to the counter and saw Steph writing something down in a book. He didn't notice my presence yet as he was serious with what he was doing.

"BOOO" I shouted startling him.

I laughed at his expression when he jumped in fear.

"Rosie are you crazy? You also gave me a heart attack." he said glaring at me as I was still laughing at him.

"Well I'm sorry." I said as I calmed down.

"So why are you here?" he asked raising his eyebrows up.

"I came to work duh. What else will bring me here if not to work. You dummy." I said rolling my eyes.

I walked to the changing room and changed into my uniform. I walked out and joined him.

"I am so happy you are back. Finally the work load will reduce." he said.

"You are a lazy ass. Where is Mr Drew?" I asked when I noticed I haven't seen him.

"Oh he called that he will come later. He had to go to somewhere important."

Well I was a bit sad. I wanted to see him badly because I missed that man so much.

"Alright then let's start working." I said smiling.

"Before that Rosie, I didn't want to say something but I have no other choice but to ask you. Why do I feel like you are glowing and also I feel some strange aura coming from you?" Steph said.

His question actually came as a surprise but knowing Steph too well, that guy is a joker. He jokes about almost every thing.

"If that's your way of saying I look beautiful, aww thank you Steph I appreciate your kind words." I said with a smirk on my lips.

"No I don't mean that. No...well I mean you look beautiful yes but you look so different. If not that I know your rank, I would think you are of the higher class. You also have this aura coming out from you like you are of someone with so much power. Tell me hope you didn't do something illegal to change?"

I laughed at him.

"Steph stop all this dry jokes. Either you are just trying to pull my legs or your eyes are just deceiving you."

"Whatever you say Rosie but I'm actually serious about what I just said." he said.

I was about to say something when the bell signified that we had customers. I decided to let him be and go attend to our customers. Work was going so well. I worked with a smile on my face without feeling tired. Maybe it's because I stayed away for a long time. Some regular customers who knew me were happy to see me and I got a lot of tips. It was like my jackpot day.

It was pass 7 already. Time flies so fast.

The bell rang again. I turned to welcome our new customer. The person standing in front of me wasn't a customer. It was Mr Drew. I smiled and walked to him.

"Good evening Mr Drew. You are late for work. Is that how a boss suppose to act?" I questioned him playfully.

He laughed and hugged me. It took me by surprise but I still let him.

"Rosie I see you are back. I missed you kid. How long have you been here?" he asked me as he released me.

"Hmmm since in the afternoon." I answered him.

"You should have given me a call to inform me that you were here, I would have come quickly." he said as we walked to the counter.

I laughed.

"Don't worry I was actually waiting for you to come back patiently."

"So are you back?"

"Of course yes. I'm back." I said smiling.

"Good. Now young lady what have you been doing this days. You look different." Mr Drew said.

I looked at him then at Steph who had the 'I told you' look on his face.

"Different in what way?" I asked him.

"Well you look more beautiful and you look confident also. For a second I thought you were Sun but then your eyes are emerald so I'm very sure you are the one." he said.

"Well I have decided now to be strong for myself and more confident. I can't let people look down on me right?" I said smiling.

"Right. I think I'm liking this new you. You smile more, talk freely and you are confident. I like it. I think I won't be worried about you like before because you are now a grown-up." he said with a proud look on his face.

I smiled at him.

Now that he has said it, I also feel like a grown up. I have changed actually. I have been through a lot this past few days that have changed me. I have to be strong for myself and my wolf although I know she could take care of herself but still I have to be strong since

I have no one beside me to protect me. My mate doesn't want me because he thinks am weak because I'm an Omega. Well I guess it's time to show him that I'm no longer who he thinks I am.

"Rosie. Hey Rosie." I heard my name bringing me back from my thoughts.

"Yes?" I asked confused.

"I have been trying to get your attention since. What were you thinking of? Anyway that customer is done, go attend to him." Mr Drew said.

I quickly went to do what I was assigned to do.

I was going to drop the tray I was holding when I felt a sharp pain in my chest. I almost dropped the tray on the floor if not for Steph who was close to me that helped me quickly.

"Hey what's wrong?" he asked me looking worried.

"Its nothing I just felt.... owwww"

The pain came again bringing me to my kneels as I held my shirt. Mr Drew and Steph were kneeling beside me asking me what was wrong but I couldn't answer them because I also didn't know.

Or could it be that he was cheating on me again? I will kill that jerk.

"No Rosie it's not because of that." I heard Sun weak voice say. She was also in pain too.

"Then what's wrong? Why are we feeling this pain?" I asked her.

"Mate... Mate is hurt." she said groaning.

What? Evans is hurt? But how. What happened him? Who hurt him?

My heart was in pain. The mate bond was really making everything worse for me.

But despite that, I couldn't help myself from being worried.

"Rosie are you okay?" Mr Drew asked me.

"I'm fine. Don't mind me. I need to rest a little." I said to him weakly.

"Alright you can go to the changing room and rest there." he said looking at me with a worried look on his face.

I slowly stood up and walked to the changing room. I sat on bench and couldn't stop thinking about Evans. I was scared for him.

Yes I know I'm supposed to hate him for everything he has done to me and I shouldn't think about how he is, but I can't stop myself.

I just hope his injury is not so serious.

But who in his sane mind will attack him? Or was it a rogue attack?

My mind went wide just thinking about it. I couldn't stop shaking in fear.

"Sun have you heard anything from Axel?" I asked her.

"No. He isn't answering me." she said. I could tell from her voice that she was very worried. She kept pacing round.

"Hey sun, calm down. I'm sure it's nothing serious. He will be fine. Besides remember that he is the alpha he can't die easily." I tried to comfort her and also comfort myself also. But it wasn't working for me and also her too because she was still pacing around. My phone rang breaking me out of my thoughts. I checked who was calling and my heart dropped when I saw who was calling me.

It was the Luna.

I was scared. Why was she calling me? Or was the injury really serious? No it can't be right?

With my shaking finger, I picked the call.

"Hello Luna?"

"Rosie where are you? Please can you come to the infirmary right now? My son, my baby he needs you." she said crying.

I felt pale. It was serious as I feared. But why was the Luna asking me to come? Don't tell me she knows that I'm Evans mate. No I don't think so. I know Evans won't say a word to her about it.

"Sorry ma but I see no reason why you want me to come over." I said to her.

"Of course there is reason for you to come. You are Evans mate." she said. Immediately she said the last statement, phone slipped from my hand.
