The Alpha King's Rebellious Queen
The Alpha King’s Rebellious Queen Chapter 26

Jemma’s POV

Reluctantly I left the comfort of Cassius’s arms and followed Isabelle to luna class. I was trying not to look completely annoyed and bummed, but she seemed to have caught on as we walked a few steps behind my brother’s mate. Izzy elbowed me. “Try not to look completely thrilled.” She said sarcastically.

“I’m trying, Izzy. Really I am. Cassius told me to learn what I can and twist it to suit my style.”

She laughed. “That’s my boy. He’s right, you know. Make it your style. Though not completely your style. Can’t have skulls in the flower arrangements except maybe on Halloween.”

“We can put skulls in flower arrangements?”

She shrugged. “I mean, if you really wanted to.”

I sighed. “Flower arranging and looking at color swatches to plan parties is just not my thing. I replace it incredibly boring. If it were up to me, all parties would be simple bonfires by a lake or the ocean.” I explained as she just rolled her eyes. “I would rather be out sparring and learning fighting techniques. Making sure the Warriors are where they should be in training. I’m just not a prissy girl.”

“Hmm.” Izzy walked silently. “Is that what you think I am? A prissy girl.” She had stopped. I turned to her.

“Well, I don’t mean it like that.”

“Then how do you mean it?” She folded her arms and glared at me. “Being feminine and being a warrior doesn’t have to be mutually exclusive, Jemma. Take your grandmother, for example. She was elegant and walked with grace. She was also one of the deadliest warriors this kingdom ever had.”

I sighed. “Like I said. I’ll try.” I started walking towards the classrooms located in the palace. The kingdom held a variety of classes for future alphas, betas, lunas, and even warriors. It was a way to form alliances and unity for the kingdom and prevent unnecessary conflict between packs. There was a time when the packs were left to their own devices in conflict. It caused needless wars and deaths. There were still conflicts now, but the severity was a lot less. The packs were more united to help fight off rogues and other threats.

I had been walking while thinking. Delilah had gone on ahead of us. I looked around, and Izzy had disappeared. “Izzy?” There was silence as I looked down the now empty corridor. Then I heard footsteps rapidly approaching me, and someone grabbed me from behind, and a dagger was pressed to my throat. The dagger was sharp and elaborate, and something about it made me weak in the knees. The scent of the person holding the knife at my throat confused me. “Izzy? What the hell are you doing?”

She released me and pushed me forward. I turned, and she swiped the dagger at me, causing me to back up. “Izzy!” I said to her.

A smirk emerged on her face. “You think I am just a prissy girl. Well, I’m about to show you what a prissy girl can do.” She lunged for me with the dagger, and I had to sideswipe her quickly.

“Okay, I get your point.” I held my hands up.

She stood in a fighting stance. “Take the dagger from me. Come on, Jemma.” She lunged at me again, and I had to sidestep and avoid her as she slashed the dagger at me.

“What about luna class?” I asked while avoiding another attack from my mother-in-law.

She shrugged. “They won’t start until we arrive.” She lunged at me again.

I grabbed her wrist and attempted to disarm her. But she punched me in the back with her other fist. I released her and used my arms to deflect blows from her while doing my best to avoid getting cut. There was a strange aura coming off it.

“This dagger is special, in case you didn’t notice. It instantly paralyzes when stabbed into flesh.” We circled each other as she spoke. “You will receive it next week at your coronation. It has been handed down to every Queen for centuries. We, queens, are also taught how to fight alongside our king. We are not just dainty bimbos who only know how to arrange flowers.”

“Okay, I get it. Foot in mouth.”

“Take the dagger from me, Jemma.” She repeated in a cold tone.

I backed away from her. “I don’t want to hurt you.”

She laughed and lunged at me again. She grabbed my arm with her dagger free hand and pulled me close to her again. The dagger at my throat again. It grazed my skin, and I felt my knees go weak. “Take the dagger from me, Jemma.” She hissed. She pushed me away from her again, and I stumbled.

Growling, I lunged at her, grabbed her arm, and twisted it back, causing her to growl. I managed to get the dagger free from her grip. I smirked as I twirled it in my hands like the way it felt in my hand. My success was short-lived when she kicked my hand, causing me to drop the dagger. It slid away from us. I started to run to it only to have her hit my back, causing me to fall onto the hard marble floor. She walked past me, and I grabbed her ankle and yanked, causing her to fall. I got to my feet and walked past her and almost to the dagger when Izzy held me from behind. I elbowed her in the stomach, and she released me. But she was quick and jumped over me and clocked me in the jaw.

We then engaged in hand to hand for a minute exchanging blow after blow. I was mostly defending myself from my mate’s fierce mother. There was a lot I still had to learn. I finally clocked her a good one in her jaw that made her fall backward. I felt terrible for a second, but she just smirked at me. I took the opportunity to pick up the fallen dagger. “Are we done here?”

She got to her feet and shrugged. I handed her the dagger, and I started to walk towards the classrooms again. Izzy then jumped onto my back, sending us tumbling. I landed with a hard thud on my back. “Damn.” I cursed as she straddled me from above with the dagger at my throat again.

“Your grandmother, Victoria, taught me that move.” She sheathed the dagger and stood up.

“What the hell are you two doing?” I heard Delilah’s voice. I glanced in the direction of her voice. She was standing there with a few other future lunas. I was still lying on my back when Izzy strolled towards them.

“Oh, just a little discussion between Queens.” She smirked at me. “Right, Jemma?”

I nodded while still on my back. I knew I was going to be sore all day, even with my fast werewolf healing. Izzy started to walk towards Delilah and the others. “Get off the floor, Jemma. We have flowers to arrange.”
