Jemma’s POV

I woke up in Cassius’s arms. My back was against his chest while his face was buried in the back of my neck. His hot breath against my skin gave me goosebumps. We were both naked from our lovemaking. Despite telling me he was tired we ended up having s*x for several hours. I sighed with content and felt the twins kicking. I lightly rubbed my belly. “Morning, pups,” I said quietly to them.

His arms tightened their hold around me and I felt his lips on my neck. “Good morning, my loved.” His hands moved down my body and landed on top of my hands on my belly. The pups kicked more furiously as they sensed their father. “Ah, my babies are awake.”

I snorted. “No kidding.” I closed my eyes relishing the moment between us. Then I had to make a run for the bathroom. I had gotten past the morning sickness but now it was having to pee every two minutes it felt like. “Cass,” I tried moving his arms to get out of bed but he maintained his tight grip. He nibbled my ear making the urge worse. “Cassius, I have to go.”

He sighed and released his hold on me. I rolled off the bed and ran into the bathroom. When I was done I turned on the shower and poked my head out of the bathroom. Cassius was sitting up on the bed. “Oh, Cassius,” I said in a sing-songy tone of voice. “I need help washing myself,” I smirked while waggling my eyebrows at him.

His head shot up as a devious smile worked its way onto his handsome face. He stood up and strode towards me. “Never fear, your knight is here to save you.”

I giggled and waddled my way into the shower with him close behind. He grabbed me from behind and growled playfully as his hands explored my body. After a nearly thirty-minute shower of washing and hot s*x, we emerged from our steam-filled bathroom in each other’s arms. I walked into the closet with a little glee as I got to wear one of my new maternity outfits. I picked out a dark purple pantsuit with a white blouse. I smiled as it fit perfectly. “Oh my gods, Cassius. Your mother is a lifesaver.”

He laughed and looked over at me, “That she is. That outfit looks divine on you.”

“You would say that if I was wearing a sack.” I chuckled at him.

He shrugged as he pulled on a blue jacket over a blight blue shirt and blue slacks. “Guilty. I replace my queen beautiful no matter what.”

How did I get so lucky to have a mate that was so deeply in love with me? Every day he proved how much he loved me. I never felt alone even when we were apart. I watched him fiddle with his tie. I walked over and helped. We just stood in silence appreciating the closeness. I then leaned on his chest and he kissed the top of my head while running his hands up and down my arms. I was very lucky indeed. “Moments like these are my favorite,” I said quietly.

“I replace that the small things are my favorite.” He inhaled. “You smell heavenly my love.” He kissed me while gazing into my eyes.

It made me think of Ainsley and how her fated mate ended up being an abusive a*****e. How did some of us get a mate as good as Cassius while others were nearly killed by their mates? It didn’t seem fair. I sighed as we parted. “Cass, I want to go visit Ainsley after breakfast.”

He smiled at me as we walked out of our room. “That’s alright with me.”

“Mommy, Daddy,” Nicky called from down the hall and ran to us. Liz was right behind him. Cassius scooped him up into his arms. I kissed his little cheek.

“Good morning my sweet boy. Did you have fun with Nana last night?”

Liz let out a long sigh. “He wore me out, Jemma.” She laughed. “I shouldn’t have given him so much candy.”

We reached the elevators and just Terry was waiting. “Good morning Dad.” Cassius greeted his father.

Terry smiled at his son and new grandson. “Morning kids, Liz.” He looked tired.

“Where is Mom?” Cassius asked him.

“Your mother and I have been taking shifts staying with Ainsley.”

I squeezed my father-in-law’s arm. “How is Ainsley doing? I was thinking of visiting with her after breakfast.”

“She is doing quite well,” He replied. “The doc said she’ll be released tomorrow morning from the hospital. She would probably be happy to see you.”

“I’m sure Izzy could use a break also,” I said as we all walked into the elevator.

“Thank you, Jemma.” Terry kissed my cheek.

We walked out of the elevator and headed to the dining room. Nicky was giggling at something Cassius said. I smiled at them. It made me happy to see them so close.

After breakfast, Liz took Nicky to pupcare and I went to the hospital to visit with Ainsley. Izzy was walking out as I was walking in. “Is she awake?”

“Yes, dear. Terry told me you were coming.” Izzy yawned after replying. She looked exhausted.

“Maybe you should go get some rest, Izz.” I touched her arm.

She sighed. “I suppose so.”

I smiled at her. “See you later, Izzy.” I walked down the hall to Ainsley’s room. She was sitting up on the bed eating breakfast while watching the TV. I poked my head in. “Hi.”

She smiled at me. “Hi, Jemma. I was hoping you would come.”

I walked into the room and waddled to the chair beside the bed. Ainsley looked at my round belly.

“Wow, you got a lot bigger since the last time I saw you.”

I laughed. Anyone else and I would have gotten mad at the comment. “Yes, your niece and nephew are growing fast.”

She rubbed her belly. “I can’t wait to meet them and I hope they like Gracie.”

I smiled at her. “Gracie? Is that what you want to name your daughter?”

She nodded. “Well, Grace Isabelle. After my grandma and mother.”

“That’s a beautiful name, Ains.”

“Thank you, Jemma. Have you and Cass decided on names for the twins?”

I nodded. We had decided to not tell anyone until after the twins were born but I felt compelled to tell Ainsley. “Yes, Malcolm for the boy and Daisy for the girl.”

“I like those.” She finished her breakfast and pushed the tray away from her. I stood up and rolled it away from the bed.

“So, how are you feeling?” I asked her.

She sighed. “Physically I am fine. Mentally, I don’t know. The man I thought loved me turned out to be a monster. I mean I almost lost the man I truly love for him.” A stray tear slid down her cheek. “I tried to be a good mate. A good luna. Nothing I did was good enough for him. He always told me how useless I was.”

I clasped her hand.

“What is Cassius going to do with Casper?”

I shrugged. “I can’t say for sure. But I am sure he and your father want to rip Casper apart. What do you want to happen to him?”

“I honestly don’t know, Jemma. Part of me wants him to get what he deserves and the other part of me,” She sighed. “He is still my mate. My wolf yearns for his wolf and it will hurt if he dies.”

“I know what you mean. But don’t make the same mistake I did with Jeremy. I begged Cassius to no-kill him and my pups almost died because of it.”

She sniffled as more tears fell down her cheeks. “What will I tell my daughter?”

“The truth. Someday when she is older. Didn’t Titus say he would help you raise her?”

Ainsley smiled when I mentioned Titus. “Yeah. I can’t believe he took me back.”

“That’s because he loves you.”

“I love him. I was stupid to have ever have gone with Casper. But now I am going to leave Casper behind and look at my future with Gracie and Titus.”

I squeezed her hand. “I hope everything works out for you Ainsley. Have you decided where to live with Titus?”

Her head shook. “Not yet. We are taking it one day at a time for now. Daddy said he could stay here in the palace if he wants.”

“Wow, that’s a big step for your Dad.” I laughed.

“Well, he seems to have taken a liking to Titus.”

“Do you blame him? He saved your life.”

She laughed. “He and Mom are already discussing me marrying him. It’s like whoa slow down. We are still figuring things out.”

“Will you miss being the Luna of your pack?”

“No, it never really felt like my pack. All I did was take care of the house. I wasn’t even allowed to go outside most of the time. I couldn’t talk to hardly anyone. I did have a few friends.”

“I guess the beta is taking over as alpha, according to Cass.”

“Harris? Yeah. I think he will be alright. He is an alpha’s son and he is quite strong. I think the pack will prosper under him. Casper was mostly all about himself. He didn’t care about the pack.” She explained. “I will miss them. Some of them. But I am also looking forward to my life with Titus.” She yawned. “I sort of want to take a nap even though I have been just sitting here.”

I patted her hand. “You do that. Pregnancy is tiring. Let me tell you.” I smiled down at my belly. “These two are taking a lot out of me, let me tell you.”

“Well, they are my brother’s kids. I can imagine.” Ainsley laughed as she settled into the bed. “The doctor said I’ll be released tomorrow. The family will probably want to hang out together.”

“I’ll be there. Do you want me to ask the kitchen to prepare a special meal for you?”

She shook her head. “No, it’s alright Jemma. I’ll just be happy to be with the people who love me and I am excited for them to finally get to know Titus. I know it’s not easy for them to be close to a vampire.”

“Titus seems like a great guy. I’m sure he’ll fit right in.” I stood up as the pups started kicking. “Oh boy. These two are active.”

“Can I feel them?” Ainsley held out her hand. I nodded and she placed her hand on my belly. “That’s amazing. I can’t wait to feel Gracie kicking.”

“There is no better feeling in the world. You’d think that since I went through this once that it wouldn’t be a big deal. But feeling them kick the first time was just a wonderful as feeling Nicky kick the first time.”

She yawned again. “Thank you for visiting Jemma. I am glad you are my sister.”

I smiled at her. “I am glad you are my sister too, Ainsley. Sleep well. I hope Titus comes to see you today.”

She grinned. “He never breaks promises and he promised.”

“Good.” I waved as I walked out of the room. I headed out of the hospital to the palace. I walked into the office as Cassius was on a video call. He looked up and nodded at me with a slight smile. He then turned his attention to the screen. “Yes, Alpha. I will send a few warriors to help you out.”

I sat in my chair beside him.

“Thank you, your majesty.” A male said on the screen.

“Have a good day, alpha,” Cassius concluded before switching off the video. He turned to look at me. “How was your visit with Ainsley?”

“It was good. She seems to be in good spirits despite everything. She is excited about her pup.”

He nodded. “That’s good to hear. I should go visit her later after lunch.”

“I told her the names of our pups.”

“Okay.”

“She told me the name she chose for her daughter and I just told her the names of the twins.”

He pulled me towards him and kissed me on the cheek. “It’s no big deal, love. I am glad you and my sister get along so well. It means the world to me.”

“Ainsley wasn’t sure if that is what she wants for Casper.” I blurted out.

“Yeah, well. I am not having a repeat of Jeremy,” He growled. “The kingdom needs to see I am serious when it comes to abuse of mates. Casper crossed the line when he tried murdering his pup.” His fists balled up.

I placed my hand on his. “I know, Cass. I know.”

He sighed. “Sorry, the thought of a male hurting his pups makes me very angry. And more so now that I am a father. I just don’t know how a male could hurt his beautiful creations.”

“Cass, I think you need to talk to Ainsley about it.”

He sighed and nodded. “I will. But I am still exectuing Casper. My sister has her vampire to take care of her and her daughter.”

“I’m still here,” Maria said from across the desk.

Cassius grabbed my hand and pulled me upright. “Let’s have lunch outside, today.” He smiled.

“I am going to go take a shower and change my clothes first.”

“That concept does not exist in my mind, Jemma. I can never f**k you enough.” He laughed.

I sighed and stood up. I had to walk around the office to collect my clothes. I pulled them on and then started to walk out of the office as the door opened. Deke walked in.

“Deke, you did not just walk in the office without knocking,” Cassius growled at him.

“I waited until you two were finished.” He laughed. “I mean jeez. You two are worse than bunnies today.”

I laughed as Cassius growled again. “What do you need Deke?”

“I don’t need anything, bro. I just need to report a few things to you. You know do my job.”

Cassius rolled his eyes and looked at me. “I’ll be right up in a few minutes, love.”

I smiled at him and then waddled out of the office. I was a bit sore from the vigorous s*x. I patted my belly as I reached the elevators. Izzy was waiting there also. She looked me up and down. “You and my son sure love doing it in that office.”

I blushed slightly. “Oh goddess, don’t tell me you heard us.”

She snorted. “I’m pretty sure the whole kingdom heard you two.”

“Eek,” I said as the door to the elevator opened. Izzy and I parted ways after the elevator arrived on our floor. I went straight to my room for a shower and a change of clothes.
