The Alpha King’s Virgin by Charmeleon Chapter 112

Chapter 112

AMARIS

Athan had come for Raine with the help of the Shadow Dragons. Fintan’s mocking laughter followed me as I bounded away from him over the rubble towards the castle. I let Rage take control of my body.

“Give up, Amaris! Accept your defeat like a man.” Athan called down from the rampart at me. Tendrils of black smoke surrounded him, shielding him from the rays of the setting sun.

Rage howled out our fury as we charged through the oak doors that now hung corpse–like on their hinges. Charging up the steps. Pitch–dark inside the castle. The Shadow Dragons snuffed out all the light to hide among the shadows, ready to attack.

An attack could come from anywhere. But neither of us were concerned about that. Our only concern was Raine. Rage sprinted down the corridors and up the stairs. All the while, I tried to mind link Ross. No answer. I feared the worst.

When we approached the rampart’s door, a dark shape with glowing red eyes blocked our way. His hackles raised, Rage projected our Alpha aura at the thing, snarling threateningly. It didn’t budge. The vampire had placed the creature there to detain me.

‘We can’t let this stop us, Rage. Each second that passed could mean Athan getting away pregnant mate.

Rage lowered himself to his haunches. He was readying himself to leap at the creature. Something caught my attention. A movement.

‘Wait!‘ I told Rage.

He snarled at me impatiently. ‘There’s no time.

A ball of pure light came hurtling towards the dragon. Rage taken by surprise by the sudden movement flattened himself against the floor. Another ball of light followed the first one. The Shadow Dragon shrieked. The sound was like nails being dragged across glass.

“You’re welcome. Your Majesty.” a familiar chuckle sounded behind me. Egnor!

I changed back into human form. “What took you so long?” I said before kicking down the door to the rampart.

My frantic gaze instantly fell on the bloodsucker standing on the edge of the rampart wall, holding my love in his arms. The roar that ripped from my mouth shook the walls. “Let her go, Bloodsucker, and fight me!”

Black mist swirled at my feet. The Shadow Dragons were prowling the ramparts, keeping me from Athan.

“Do you like my pets, Amaris?he uttered a low, menacing chuckle. “They would love to feast on your wolves.” He stroked Raine’s face. Her head lay against his shoulder. “One word from me and they will attack.” He balanced himself precariously on top of the parapet of the rampart. If he were to drop Raine… a shudder went down my spine.

My eyes caught sight of Ross lying motionless against the debris of the wall, his body almost blending in with the rubble. I heard the slow beating of his heart. At least he was alive, but weak. Seems as if the vampire had feasted on him. bloodsucker!

“Athan! Coward, come down and fight!” I saw Raine stirring in his arms. When I moved closer, the Shadow Dragons hissed at me; the threat was obvious. Where the hell were Egnor and his sprites?

“Join us up here, Amaris. The view is spectacular.” He grinned at me, showing fangs still dripping with blood.

As if he read my thoughts, the sprites, hordes of them, appeared floating high above me. I heard the air crackle, and a coppery smell filled my nostrils. The sweet, pungent aroma reminiscent of a thunder strike. Ball after ball of faery fire struck the Shadow Dragons, forcing them to flee.

Athan hissed and cursed, clutching Raine with one hand, the other raised to his eyes.

‘He’ll drop her!‘ Rage howled in my head, and I launched myself at them. The three of us plummeted to the ground.

The fall happened in slow motion. At least that was what it felt like. I had one claw imbedded into Athan’s shoulder, the other held onto Raine’s waist. As we tumbled through the air, Athan tried to sink his fangs into my neck, hissing and snarling.

Before we hit the ground, I twisted our bodies around. Athan would take the impact. It didn’t happen like that. He disappeared like a morning fog. I braced myself for the collision. When that didn’t happen, I opened my eyes. And looked into Raine’s amber ones.

We were inches from the rubble–strewn ground, drifting in what seemed to be a bubble of light.

“Raine…” My eyes roved over her body. She was unscathed.

“You’re hurt!” She touched the gash on my shoulder. It was healing, but not as fast as it should have.

“It’s nothing.” I smiled at her. “Put us down. I have a vampire to hunt.”

The elves, dwarves, and sprites came to join the battle once more. With the help of their archers and warrior dwarves, we were steadily getting the upper hand. The dragon shifters were fleeing, having no sense of loyalty like werewolves did. Fintan, realizing he was being deserted, left on the back of his enormous dragon. Cheers and howls once again cut through the night air as the blue moon reached its summit.

I scanned the area for any sign of Athan, but once again, the Prince of Darkness had escaped. He was nowhere to be found. Keeping Raine close to me, I ran in wolf form, dispatching remaining dragon shifters in my wake.

“It isn’t over, is it Amaris?” Raine knelt next to my black wolf, throwing her arms around Rage’s thick neck. Rage licked her face, relishing her scent.

It is for the moment, my queen.

I pushed for control, needing to be in my love’s arms. Rage resisted, enjoying her hands on him. Was it possible to feel jealous of one’s beast?

“I don’t know where my coven is, Amaris. Are they even still alive?”

I could feel Raine’s sadness seeping into my heart, knowing that she felt she had let them down. I could feel every emotion.

“You didn’t let them down, my love.” I held her close to my chest, stroking her back. “We’ll replace them.”

I had to see if Ross was recovering. “Athan drank from Ross. I have to go to him.” I told her.

“I’ll come with him. He fought bravely.” She rose to her feet and stretched out her hand to help me

  1. up.

“Thank the Goddess, Your Majesty!” Lord Greyson joined us on the stone steps. “When I saw you fall from the ramparts…” He shook his head to rid himself of that scene. “Your sword, Sire.”

I took the weapon from him, nodding my thanks. “Glad you survived, Lord Greyson.”

He bowed his head. Many of us were not so fortunate, Sire.”

“I’ll help with the clean–up. Our warriors deserve a fitting burial.” I pressed on his shoulder. “But first I must see to my Beta.”

“Ross is injured?” It was the first time I’ve seen Greyson looking concerned for his son–in–law.

Before I could answer, Ross stumbled out of the castle holding onto the walls and looking pale as death. Raine rushed towards him. I tried to stop the frown that formed on my brow. Without

success.

Get a grip, Amaris. He probably saved her life. But I couldn’t help the possessiveness coursing through my being. Mine! I pulled her away from him. She scowled at me.

“I’m fine. I think,” Ross said right before he collapsed at our feet.

“I will take care of him.” Lord Greyson said firmly. He hoisted the unconscious man onto his broad shoulders and trudged away.

“What was that?” Raine turned to me, hands on her hips.

Is that any way to talk to me?” I answered her question with one of my own, but with more aggressiveness. “I won’t have you touching any other man except me.”

She had the guts to roll her eyes at me. What happened to my obedient and submissive Omega? “You are asking for it, Raine.” I lifted her over my shoulder as if she were nothing but a cloak and stepped inside.

I locked the bedroom door behind us. The state of the room, considering the rest of the castle, was not too bad. Glass crunched underneath my bare feet from the shattered window. Our brocade draperies were scorched and hung in tatters. But the bed was still intact. Thank the gods.

“Amaris, you can’t just…” Raine uttered a muted cry as I dumped her on the bed. But her eyes held a dark promise. She nipped her bottom lip between her teeth to stop herself from smiling. Her body couldn’t lie to me. Her scent gave her away. She was as excited as I was.

“I can and I will.” I growled at her, pinning her down underneath me. My cock twitched hungrily against her thigh. Too much clothing in the way. “I don’t care if you’re the Queen Magus. You’re still mine.” I pulled down her trousers together with her thong in one movement. Her top followed fast, leaving her bare to feast my eyes on. Her nipples stood at attention, just begging for my tongue. The light of the blue moon caressed her bare skin, and at that moment she looked like the goddess herself.

“Oh, Amaris…” she smiled coyly. “I am only yours.”

I pulled her hips towards me, positioning me at her entrance. Her mouth slightly open, breathing faster, waiting. She gazed at me in anticipation. I gave her a wicked grin.

“I’m not going easy on you tonight, my queen.” Tonight was not for making love. I plan to her hard to assert my

dominance.

“I wouldn’t expect anything less, my Lord.”
