The Alpha King’s Virgin by Charmeleon Chapter 115
Chapter 115
SORIN
CASTLE DRACUL THE REALM OF ETERNAL DARKNESS
“I thought you would have had her by now, Athan. What happened?” The vampire was hard to read at the best of times. And now was no different. His face was a mask of stony impassiveness.
“Your brother happened.” He inspected his long, tapered fingernails as if it were the most interesting things in the room.
I dropped the book I was reading on the side table. Helen and our pup slept peacefully in the room Athan had so graciously offered us. Parts of his castle were still being repaired after my idiot brother set fire to it.
“Oh?” I raised an eyebrow. “Fintan assured me Amaris was dying or near death.” I was still upset that the High Magus let Raine escape. We were so close to getting her. But then Helen went into early labor. I had to get her to safety. Athan offered his castle as refuge for us.
“He was very much alive. A pity you couldn’t be there to see her, Sorin. She was magnificent.” His red eyes swirled with lust. That was the only time he had any kind of emotion on his pale face. When he thought of her.
I scoffed. He was so obsessed with Raine. It was pitiful. “No doubt.” Pretty sure she would kill me the first chance she got.
“I had her in my arms,” he hissed. “But then the Elf King showed up. His sprites defeated my pets.”
“Such a shame.” I honestly couldn’t care. Those Shadow Dragons were vile creatures. “Care for a drink?” I poured myself a generous amount of red wine into a crystal glass and swirled it around to enjoy the rich aroma.
“I just had a delicious human girl.” He said with a half grin. “Virgin blood, exceptional.”
I fought the desire to roll my eyes at him. He was detestable, but a valuable ally. “So, I gather Amaris attacked you?” I sipped the wine slowly, relishing the spicy taste on my tongue. Of course he would. He wouldn’t let anyone touch his mate.
For a moment, I zoned out. I had the most vivid fantasy. Amaris in chains, watching helplessly while I defiled his pretty little witch before ripping her heart out. I almost came in my pants.
“You didn’t hear a word I said.” Athan brought me back to reality. Unfortunately.
“Never mind.” The vampire strolled to the window, looking out at the endless night. “He suffered great losses. A pity Fintan didn’t finish the job. But his army is significantly weaker. If it weren’t for that meddling fool, we would have destroyed him.”

I shrugged. “The dragons underestimated my brother. If we strike now before he has time to regroup, we have a better chance.”
Athan focused his weird colored eyes on me. “We. Interesting choice of words, Sorin.”
“Oh, come one, Athan!” I drained the wine. “We had a deal. You know I would never defeat my brother in a fight. He almost killed you.”
Athan chuckled humorlessly. “I haven’t forgotten our deal, Sorin. I need those pack lands and the slaves with it. Amaris ruined my kingdom by killing off my children of the night. It’s only fitting I should be well compensated.” He was standing so near that I could practically taste the metallic scent of his previous meal. Virgin blood, indeed. Repulsive bloodsucker.
“Of course, of course. Dear Athan, I will keep my word. As soon as I am crowned, those lands with everything it holds will be yours.”
“And Raine.” His hands caressed my shoulders, and I found it extremely hard to suppress a shudder.
“That goes without saying.” I smiled my best charming smile at him. Thinking about his narrow, bony hands on her made me want to hurl. I wanted to be the one to taste her.
Bloody witch! I really need to get her out of my head. Yes, focus on Helen and my pup, my son. He was beautiful and so was my mate.
“Good. I am happy we understand each other, Sorin.” He patted my cheek. Then he went to flaunt himself on the red velvet couch. “We need to divide and conquer, and we have to do it soon. I am getting impatient.”
I poured myself another glass of wine. “This is excellent quality.” Taking the glass, I went to sit down opposite the vampire. “And how do you suggest we divide the two of them?”

When I went back to our bedroom after a lengthy discussion with Athan, Helen was awake and feeding our son. She smiled at me, stroking the boy’s fair head against her breast. I her forehead and settled down beside her.
“What took you so long?” she moved the tiny infant to her shoulder to burp him. “I’ve missed you.”
“Discussing our future with the vampire.” I laid back against the pillows, watching her care for Nathaniel. She had insisted on naming him after her father. I didn’t much care for her father, but I indulged her.
Helen wrapped Nathaniel in clean linen. He was asleep, with one tiny fist against his mouth. We had no clothes for him, as everything was back at our castle. She gently laid him down in a makeshift cot, a woven basket Athan had stumbled upon.
“And? Helen prompted.

I smirked at her. “Don’t worry, my love. We’re working on a plan.”
“I hope so, Sorin. There is no way I want to raise our son in this horrible place.” She stood next to the bed in all her naked glory, hands on her hips. I admired her heavy breasts swollen with milk. The pregnancy had filled her out in all the right places, and it suited her.
“Keep your

voice down, Helen. You don’t want to upset our host.” I opened my arms to her, and she to me, albeit somewhat hesitantly. “Be patient just a bit longer, my queen.” I knew she liked me calling her that because she melted into my embrace.
“Can you trust him, Sorin? What’s stopping him from killing us to get control over the werewolf kingdom?” Her baby blue eyes were filled with worry.
“Hush, my love.” I placed soft on her cheek and along her jaw, moving down towards my mark on her neck. “You’re the only person I trust.” I whispered against her skin. Once I am crowned, I planned to get rid of Athan once and for all. But that part I kept to myself.
