The Alpha King’s Virgin by Charmeleon Chapter 90
Chapter 90
RAINE
“I won’t let you have my child.” I’ll either replace a way out or die trying.” I yelled at him as he pulled me along the corridors to
his office.
His only response was to stare me down. He forced me into a chair, whispered a few words, and I found myself bound to the chair by invisible chains. Willa stood in front of his desk, her head bowed, afraid to look up at him.
“You only had one task. One. And you let me down.” He swooped down on her like a vulture ready to rip her skin.
I strained in vain against the supernatural shackles. “Quindin! “Leave her alone!”
His amber eyes darted toward me.
“Silence!” he commanded, and my mouth snapped shut. I tried to speak but my mouth seemed as if it seemed to be sown shut.
“Please, Magus, it was a mistake. It won’t happen again.”
“You will accept your punishment, Willa, and Raine will watch. Let this serve as a lesson for both of you.”
I watched in mortified horror as green flames erupted from his palms, Willa started shaking and crying. I begged him in my mind not to do it. Would he be that cruel? My father, the monster!
The green flames licked and danced over Willa’s frail body as she writhed and screamed in anguish, and I could only watch helplessly as tears streamed down my cheeks.
“Stop it! Please stop!” I pleaded with my mind, but he didn’t. Not until she collapsed in a pitiful heap onto the stone floor.
“Soul fire.” he stated as he stepped over her motionless body. “She won’t bear a mark on her flesh, but the scars on her soul will serve as a reminder of her failure” He stopped in front of me and painfully grabbed my face. “And you, my daughter, consider yourself fortunate that I caught you. There are far worse horrors out there than you can conceive.”
I gasped sharply suddenly freed from my restraints. “Unbelievable! I can’t think of a worse creature than you!” I pushed past him on my way to Willa. She was unconscious yet breathing shallowly. The lines on her face told of the excruciating pain she had experienced. I knelt to smooth away her blue hair from her forehead and she uttered a whimper.
“What you fail to realize, but you will soon, is that you are unprepared to raise this child. Neither you, nor Amaris.”
“And who are you to judge us, Quindin? Father of the year…” I snarled at him. “I refuse to let your raise our child to be a monster like you.”
A heavy hand fell on my shoulder and pain coursed through my nerve endings all the way down to the soles of my feet.
“If this boy you are nurturing in your womb doesn’t receive the proper instruction from the day he sees the light of day, then, my dear, you will raise a monster far more dangerous than me. He will annihilate everything he touches.” He released me, leaving me shaking and needing to use the bathroom.

I was alone in my room, locked up, and staring out at the distant rolling hills. Somewhere out there I knew Amaris was coming for me, for us. I stroked my slightly protruding belly where the pup was safely growing. Countless times I have tried calling Amaris through the mind link despite knowing It would be pointless, but I did it anyway. It only served to depress
“Raine, there has to be another way out. We can’t give up now, Tasha made every effort to comfort me.
‘Have you seen what he did, Tasha? What do you think will happen when Amaris confronts him?‘ I was afraid. No, I was petrified. “I’ll be the cause of his death!‘ Because I knew he wouldn’t give up trying to save me.
You h
have no faith in our mate. Tasha scolded me. ‘He is the Alpha King.”
Werewolves are not immune to magic, Tasha!‘ She huffed at my words and sulked back into a dark corner of my mind. I was being realistic. Yes, Amaris was one of the Alphas with the greatest strength and speed, but what good would that be against Quindin?
Joyce knocked on my door, carrying a tray of food and a jug of fruit ale. “Don’t look so glum, Raine.” she said as she set it down on the end table. “Things could have gone far worse for you. Quindin could have put you in limbo until after the birth.”
I despised the smug smile she gave me and wished I could smack it right off her face.
But my concern for the blue–haired witch outweighed my desire to vent my rage on Joyce. “What became of Willa? Is she okay?”
Joyce sat down without being asked. “As well as one can expect after having one’s soul burned.” She snatched a peach from the tray and chewed it noisily. “You should eat something. Your baby needs nourishment.”

“What does that even mean? Will she be able to recover?” I picked a buttered roll and nibbled on it, having not much appetite after what occurred with Willa.
“You don’t have to concern yourself with her. She’s learned her lesson. Take my provoke Quindin. Even if your
advice. Dop are his daughter. You have no idea how powerful he is.” She wiped her mouth with the back of her sleeve. “But I do have some news you might replace interesting. Heard it from a reliable source.”
Joyce locked grey eyes on mine. “Apparently he joined forces with the Elven commander Egnor and killed the Fae queen.”
In disbelief I stared at Joyce. It had begun. Amaris vowed he would burn down the entire supernatural world if he had to, to
save me.
“Yes, your beloved King Amaris has declared war on the council and is currently marching to his death. The Shadow Dragons are on their way to destroy him!” Joyce said with a happy smile.
I
My mouth went dry all of a sudden. “Where did you learn this?” I rasped.
“I don’t know if you know much about the Shadow Dragons, but from time to time the Magus had an agreement with them, call it a pact if you will. So, in exchange for their protection, he would grant them certain favors.” She grinned at me. “Now, your guess is as good as mine as to what he would give them in return for Amaris‘ head, but I wager it has something to do with you.”
