The Alpha’s Feisty Mate -
Chapter 22: Joining ceremony
Isabella POV
I was really surprised when Alpha Drake told Jared that he would be sparring with me instead of leading training. What’s he trying to prove here?
My wolf, on the other hand, was tickled pink at the idea of rubbing our body against Alpha Drake’s body in a fight. She’s such a horny wolf. I chuckled to myself.
We started to spar, and once again, it was a back and forth game of dominance. That was until he managed to pin me to the ground, with my arms above my head. He laid on top of me, not leaving me any room to wiggle out of his hold.
My frustration grew, especially after he whispered in my ear to submit.
Hell no! I wasn’t going to submit to him. I thought to myself. That was until he started rubbing his nose along the crook of my neck. A shiver round through my body. He started moving his nose down towards my chest. I was fighting with my thoughts, trying not to get aroused, and I was losing the battle.
I needed him off my body and fast before everyone on the training field smelled my arousal and saw our interaction.
“Ok fine! You win!” I blurted out, needing him to stop what he was doing to my body. I saw the satisfaction in his eyes. I didn’t care. I was way too flustered, trying to get my lustful thoughts under control.
Alpha Drake finally got off of me and stood, extending his hand to help me up. I didn’t take it, though. I stood on my own. I didn’t need his help.
I looked around and found quite a few eyes watching Alpha Drake and me, including his Beta and Gamma. Clair was also watching, as well as some of the warriors. They all had curious looks, except for that redhead, Jill. She looked angry. There must be something going on between them, I thought to myself. She shouldn’t worry, though. I don’t want the guy.
‘Speak for yourself,’ Bri spat at me in my head. I just rolled my eyes at her.
Once training was over, we walked back to the dining hall for lunch.
We sat at the same table as last time. Jill was seated across from me.
“Isabella, you are a really good fighter.” Jill complimented me with a smile.
“Thank you.” I smiled back.
“Maybe we could grab a coffee and walk around the garden? I could show you around.” Jill offered.
“I would love that, but the Alpha here, has me locked up when I’m not in his presence,” I told her, sarcasm lacing my voice while I nodded my head in Alpha Drake’s direction.
“Oh.” She said with a surprised look.
“Are you allowed, visitors?” She asked curiously.
“I’m not sure. You’ll have to ask my prison guard over there,” I replied while glaring at Alpha Drake. He let out a low warning growl while he shot me a pointed look. I just rolled my eyes at him.
“Isabella, you really are a good fighter. We could probably learn some moves from one another that could be beneficial to both our packs.” Jared said to me, clearly trying to change the subject and lower the tension.
“Thanks, I couldn’t agree more. It’s always nice to be matched up with new warriors. It keeps you on your toes. Plus, I enjoy training, so I don’t mind participating while I’m here.” I said to him honestly.
“I have work to do. Let’s go.” Alpha Drake stood up and said to me. I huffed but stood and said my goodbye’s to the table before I followed Alpha annoying out of the room. He led me to his office.
“What are we doing?” I asked, confused.
“Well, it’s up to you. You can either hang out with me in my office while I work or spend the day in your room alone, choose.”
“Great, I either spend the day alone in my room going crazy, or I spend the day looking at your face. That also happens to drive me crazy. Tough call. Either way, it seems like I’m going to go crazy.” I said sarcastically while tapping my chin with my finger, making it look like it was a tough choice.
“You are infuriating. Get in the office. I’ve made the choice for you.” He said while shoving me through the door.
“Sit.” He ordered while pointing at the couch.
I complied. It’s not like I was going to stand all day. I figured that I was going to sit anyway, even if he hadn’t barked the order at me. I have to pick battles, I thought to myself as I sat down.
“So, Alpha Drake, what kind of work requires your highness’s attention?” I asked, sounding bored.
“Clair’s joining ceremony. It’s in two days. I have lots of preparations to do.” He said without looking at me.
It caught me off guard. I mean, I released she met her mate, but I didn’t put two and two together that she would be staying here with her mate and joining the Crescent Moon pack. It made me sad to think about it. When I go home, I won’t have my best friend with me anymore. We are like sisters, attached at the h*p. What am I going to do without her?
I sat there quiet for a while, lost in my own thoughts.
“Wow, didn’t think it would be that easy to shut you up.” Alpha Drake teased while smirking at me.
“Don’t flatter yourself. You didn’t shut me up. You were just a bore to talk to.” I replied with an eye roll.
I stood up from the couch and figured if I was going to be stuck in here, maybe I could read a book. I walked over to the bookshelf and started looking over the titles. I picked a thriller. I did not really care about the book, but it was better than sitting there staring at the wall.
I read my book for several hours while Alpha Drake worked. Neither one of us was talking. I could see him every so often glancing my way. A couple of times, I caught him staring like he was dazed. What is his deal? I wondered. Alpha Drake stood up and walked towards the door.
“Let’s go. I have a meeting. I’ll bring you back to your room.” He said in his low husky voice.
“My prison, you mean,” I replied with a bored tone.
“I told you, Isabella, it’s simple. You promise you won’t leave my territory, and you are free to walk around as you please. Instead, you are being stubborn and refuse to comply with one simple rule.” He said, sounding frustrated.
I followed him to my room. He opened the door, and I walked in. I didn’t turn around, just kept walking toward my bed. I knew he was still watching me. I didn’t hear the door shut. I didn’t want to give him the satisfaction of watching him shut the door and locking me in.
“Your belongings have arrived. I’ll have someone bring them up. Also, I’ll have a formal dress sent to your room for Clair’s joining ceremony.” He said. I didn’t say anything. I heard the door shut and lock, and I turned to see that I was alone in the room.
I stripped out of my clothes and had a shower. Once I was done, I put Alpha Drake’s white T-shirt back on since I had no other clothes until my belongings arrived.
I lay on the bed and turned the Tv on. It didn’t take long before I fell asleep. I was awoken by someone knocking at the door.
“Come in,” I said. It’s not like I could open the door for them since the door was locked from the outside, but I guess it’s the polite thing to say, I thought to myself.
Three warriors came in, each carrying a box of my belongings. They put them down on the floor and nodded to me before leaving. I thanked them as they were on their way out.
The next day went by without a hitch. It was the same routine. Alpha Drake took me to train in the morning, and we went for lunch in the dining hall and then to his office, where I sat and read until he returned me to my room and locked me up. Life couldn’t be any more fascinating, I thought to myself. The evening I spent alone in my room, I eventually fell asleep.
Morning came, and it was the day of Clair’s joining ceremony. She’s very excited about it, and I’m excited for her. After all, I want her to be happy, and Jared seems to do that.
Alpha Drake allowed Clair to join me in my room today so that we could get ready together. How kind of him, I thought to myself.
Clair came to my room just after lunchtime. She was beaming with excitement. She was carrying a garment bag and another handbag, which I’m going to assume, was makeup.
She laid her garment bag on the bed and brought her makeup bag into the bathroom.
“So, are you excited?” I asked her trying to sound enthusiastic about her special day. I don’t want to ruin her day by showing off how miserable I am. Fake it till you make it, I thought to myself.
“I’m so excited. Jared is so perfect, and I actually really like the pack. I’ve already made some friends here.” She said excitedly until she realized her words, and her smile faded.
“I’m sorry, Isabella. I know this hasn’t been easy for you. I shouldn’t be rubbing in my happiness.” She apologized sincerely.
“Oh goddess Clair, You are like my sister. All I want is to see you happy. If it’s with Jared and in this pack, so be it. I’ll miss you, but I’m still really happy for you.” I told her while wrapping my arms around her in a big hug.
“You know Isabella. If you agree to stay on the territory, Alpha Drake will give you your freedom.” She said in an almost pleading tone. I know it’s hard for her to watch me being locked up every day, but I just won’t agree to that rule when I know I can’t keep my word.
“I know,” I told her, offering her a small smile.
“Enough about me. Let’s get dressed up so all eyes are on us tonight.” I said to her with a genuine smile. We spent the next several hours doing our hair and makeup.
We both did our hair in up does. Mine was a bit messier, with strands hanging on either side of my face. Clair’s was a loose bun at the top of her head.
We both did light makeup, just a little eyeliner, mascara, and l*p gloss.
Now, it was time to get dressed. I opened the garment bag that Alpha Drake had an omega drop off. Inside was a gorgeous floor-length, ocean blue silk dress. It was form-fitting till it reached my thigh, then it flowed out. It had off the should sleeves that left my neck on full display.
Clair’s dress was maroon and also floor-length. It was fitted around the waist but straight cut the rest of the way to the floor with a slip up her thigh. The neckline was sweetheart-shaped, and the top layer of the dress was lace. She looked stunning.
As we were finishing up and slipping on our heels, there was a knock at the door.
“Come in,” I said.
Jared walked in, and a big smile formed on his face when he saw Clair. The look in his eyes was pure adoration. I glanced over at Clair, who was blushing with the same look in her eyes.
“You look absolutely gorgeous, Clair,” Jared said to her.
“Thank you. You look handsome yourself.” Clair returned the compliment. I watched as Jared took her into a tight embrace. They were actually a perfect match.
“Alpha Drake asked me to bring both of you ladies since he’s busy with last-minute setup for the ceremony,” Jared said, and I nodded.
I followed Clair and Jared down the hall. Jared had his hand on Clair’s lower back, and I watched as he kept glancing at her every few minutes like he couldn’t get enough of her.
Once we entered the ceremony hall, most of the pack members were already present and waiting. I saw alpha Drake talking with a few people by the stage.
Jared and Clair made their way towards Alpha Drake, and I decided to stay back by the wall, where I could go unnoticed.
I watched when Alpha Drake saw Jared approaching him without me. He had a temporary look of panic on his face as he scanned the room. When he locked eyes with me, his face relaxed. Does he seriously think I would ruin my best friend’s ceremony? I rolled my eyes as I shot him a fake smile.
The ceremony went on without a hitch, and Clair was now officially a member of the Crescent Moon Pack.
