Episode 57

BROOKE

We arrive at the hospital and slip into Hudson’s room.

There was no one around.

We look at Hudson and Willow comes up with me as we become one “What do we do to help mate?” She asks my mother.

My mother places her hand on Hudson’s hand and closes her eyes.

After a few moments, she opens them and smiles “I think you need to cry and a few more tears, he has been waiting for a while to come back and you are close to bringing him forward, he can feel you” she says.

I walk over to the bed and look at Hudson’s face; I can feel the urge to cry just by seeing him. I lean over and my tears drop onto him, a few of them.

The beeping on the monitors picks up more and a few seconds later once I move as there were no more tears to cry, Hudson’s hand moves slightly.

I look back at my mother and she has a big smile on her face “Well done” she whispers.

Hudson stirs and opens his eyes, looking straight at me which are bright, he smiles at me “Brooke” he says in a croaky voice.

I smile.

He sighs “Next time you can get stab with the needle ok,” he says with a slight croak again.

I can’t help but giggle.

I move closer to him and place a k**s on his forehead.

When I move away slightly but for him to see my face “You need to sleep” I mouth to him.

He nods “Sleep sounds good, I was stuck in my head with Asher few hours,” he says “I liked the bonding we did but I’m so happy to see my mate,” he says and takes my hand in his, he moves it to his mouth and places a k**s on it.

The tingles magnify through me, he looks at me with something in his eyes.

“We should let you rest,” says my mother suddenly “Brooke needs her sleep too.”

Hudson smiles and nods “Come back in a little while, I want to talk to you about something,” he says.

I nod.

Both my mother and I leave the room to head out of the hospital but my mother stops the pack doctor to tell him that Hudson was awake; the pack doctors eye grew wide but looked at me. He smiles and walks into Hudson’s room.

We head straight to my mother’s room but I stop and touch my mother’s hand, realizing I need to have some space. Everyone is afraid of me and I need to figure out what my next move is. So I told her I would stay in my room for the night. My mother looks at me and smiles “Have a good rest darling” she says.

Once my mother was in her room, I headed to mine and opened the door but when I walked in, there was someone there waiting for me on the chair.

Amy.

Amy looks up at me and smiles “Brooke” she says quietly “I think we need to talk.”

I close the door with my hand but my eyes never leave her.

I walk into the room and sit on the chair opposite her.

She watches me “Shane told me what you talked about when he found you when you run off,” she says.

“What do you have to say?” I ask her as I can feel Willow stir inside me.

She leans back in her seat and sighs “I never meant for any of this” she says as she looks at me “I wanted my mate, I never wanted another man’s baby or to fall in love with someone.”

I can hear a hiss from Willow in my head as she comes closer to hear what Amy has to say.

Suddenly “I know what you are,” she says quietly which makes my mouth drop open.

“How?” I mouth.

Amy looks at me and smiles “I know Willow is close, your eyes go slightly darker even when she is near” she says “I didn’t realize until I watched you turn Madison into ash.”

I close my mouth but she c***s her head at me “I won’t tell anyone if that’s what you worried about and the way people reacted towards you is disgusting” she says with disgust in her voice.

I give her a small smile.

I close my eyes as I can sense Willow wants to come to the surface but I need her to as I need to talk to Amy and it would take ages to write it all down.

When I open my eyes, Willow is front and centre.

Amy looks at her “You must be Willow” she says.

“And you are the human that our mate fell in love with,” Willow says in a hiss “I want to know why you would think being here is a good idea?”

“I didn’t want to stay but when Shane came to collect me from here, there was a rogue attack a few miles from the gate. He helped in the fight and even saved Hudson. Shane put two and two together when I told him who he was which didn’t end well” she says, “I thought I would make amends with you and Daisy. I spoke to her before you arrived and I wanted to clear the air between us.”

Willow c***s her head to the side and looks at her “Would you not go near mate if we asked you not to?” She asks.

Amy nods “I won’t go anywhere near Hudson as I also made a promise to Shane that I won’t go near neither of them.”

Willow smiles but she frowns again “How do you know about our kind?” She asks.

“My uncle works in the library of history, I went there myself and he has a section on fae culture in the back room which no one knows about,” she says “I read up on your shifters, you are magnificent beings and immortal too” she looks back at me “There was a section that you only have one mate in your life time and it would be unlikely you ever get another one,” she says with sorrow but something else shows “Willow can you bring Brooke forward with you as I know you can be as one.”

I move forward and Amy smiles “When and only when you and Hudson mate and he marks you, you both will be joined as one,” she says with a sense of happiness sweeping over her and we can feel she’s telling the truth.

I suddenly feel slightly off.

I never have been with anyone before, not in any sort of way.

My face must have said something as Amy looks back at me with a concerned face “What’s wrong?” She asks.

“Brooke is a little scared about being with mate,” says Willow “She has never….”

I cut her off “Do not say that last part, I swear to god Willow I will kill you myself” I say through gritted teeth. Willow closes our mouth but smirks “Ok” she says.

“I’m not telling the person my mate fell in love with that I never been with anyone, do you know how pathetic that makes me,” I say.

I look towards Amy who is staring back at me “I know Brooke” she says quietly “I know you haven’t been with anyone.”

I just stare at her, not saying anything.

Amy takes my hand that has been resting in my lap and smiles “I’m not going to judge you, you were held captive by monsters” she says “Just talk to Hudson about it, he will understand anyway” she says and moves her hand away.

“I best get going, but before I do Brooke I never meant to fall in love back then with Hudson, to be honest I think it was more or less l**t on both parts as I was the only human in the pack. I was born without a werewolf but they kept me on to help look after the kids” she says as she moves to stand up but she looks down at me “I would never go after Hudson as he is yours Brooke, he always has been. He was lost due to a stupid man who thought humans were weak; he was lost when he came to the pack. He never spoke to me when he realized that I was a human, until my alpha made him work with me for a few days. He never opened up to be until after he spotted I was crying one night, a pack of she-wolves were hurling insults at me as normal but somethings they said got to me. Hudson actually listened to me and even gave me some advice.”

She smiles and sighs “I never meant to cause anyone pain especially towards you or Daisy, I wanted to replace Madison as she killed my family looking for someone but we never knew who it was,” she says.

I get up out of the chair and hold my hand out to her to shake which she does. Willow is still close as one with me “We will try to make this work” she says to her “But for now stay away from mate until we are ready.”

Amy nods and she heads out of my room, closing it behind her.
