BROOKE

I can hear movement; I feel weird. I open my eyes and try to adjust to the brightness of my surroundings.

I look around but I am in a white place; there is nothing here except a bed.

I look around and move slowly, I feel like someone’s watching me.

I turn to my side and notice an enormous bird resting on what seemed like it was perched on a white branch of some kind, sleeping. I couldn’t help but stare at the magnificent creature. The bird has colors like flames, loads of purple, orange and golds running through its feathers with a crimson breast and a long tail.

“You know it is rude to stare,” a voice says to me.

I jump slightly……that voice…

“Brooke, you ok?” repeats the voice.

I look towards the giant bird that is now awake as the black orbs stare back at me.

“Willow,” I say quietly.

The bird nods its head, and I can’t help but stare back in amusement. I was looking at my counterpart.

“I asked if you were ok,” she asks again. “I know this all seems strange, but this is the only place we can recharge after what we did.”

I stare back at her but stay quiet.

I move the covers off the bed back and realize that I am in a long white dress. I slowly move off the bed and sit on the edge of the bed.

Suddenly Willow flaps her wings, stretches them out, which I only realized was that they were prominent as her.

“Willow, you look amazing,” I say to her.

I can feel her warmth and love sweeping over me; she nods her head to me.

I slowly get up out of bed and walk towards her, but I stop short and slowly move my head, but her tail gently touches my leg. Her feathers are smooth and soft at the touch. I place my hand on her to stroke her. “I am sorry we had to do what we did,” I said to her. “I wanted to protect the pack, Hudson and my family.”

I can see Willow look at me, but she is not unhappy; she shows support when she had to be my voice before.

“You are definitely a beauty, my child,” says a voice from behind me.

I turn around and notice a woman as gorgeous as a supermodel standing in front of me. I can’t help but gap at her; she has flawless features and is wearing a dress as long as the one I have on.

“I am sorry for disturbing you both,” she says with a smile.

“Who are you?” I ask. I can feel Willow’s tail on my skin. The smoothness calms me but also feels warm.

The woman smiles brightly. “My name is Selene,” she says, “I am the Moon Goddess of the werewolves.”

I stare back at her, slightly confused. “I don’t know you, sorry, but why would you be meeting me,” I asked, feeling somewhat confused.

“She is here to make sure you are safe and resting, Brooke,” says Willow in a soft tone.

Selene smiles. “You are one magnificent being Willow, and I am in the presence of a god,” she says and tilts her head slightly as if she bows to the both of us.

Selene moves her head, looks back at me and smiles. “I have been checking up on you, my child, you did an amazing thing sacrificing yourselves like that not only for your mate, your family but for my children.”

She walks closer to me. “That man was evil right to the core, what he did to you as a child was unforgivable, and I have sent him somewhere that he has to deal with his issues,” she says.

She stops in front of me. “Why don’t you both join me?” She says, “I would like to walk you to where you need to go. It would be my honor.”

Willow takes flight and flies overhead. “Where am I?” I ask Selene while looking around the garden. She places her hand out for me to take, I take it, and we walk slowly to what looks like a door, but once we step through it, we are out in a magical looking garden. There are so many different types of flowers around. Some I have never seen before. The grass feels like cushions underneath my feet as we walk.

“This place, my child is a dream place for those from another realm,” she says as she looks at me with a smile, I stare back. “What do you mean?” I ask.

“Well, your shifters are from the Fae realm, they have a dream state for the ones who are immortal such as yourself, but my child, I wanted to talk to you about something,” she says, sounding serious. We stop and Willow lands on a bolder right in front of us.

I look at her and she sighs. “I know my children are not the easiest of creatures to trust, my child; there is some good in them. I want you to stay with them, don’t leave, teach and show them what it is to be different but not only that show them being different is a powerful thing” she says, “Alfred was wrong for what he did even turned your mate into something he never was, you were both meant to be mates sooner, but Alfred was greedy in wanting to figure out what you were. He wanted to use you for his gain.”

Willow hisses, “I am happy we did what we did,” says Willow, “I want us to have a better start now when we get back.”

Selene smiles at her but looks at me with a wider one. “Someone has been waiting for you very patiently, my child and I think you should go to him,” she says and looks behind me. I can’t help but look over my shoulder as I know the place coming into view.

Willow looks at me. “I will see you on the other side, my darling Brooke” with that, she flaps her wings hard and flies into the sky.

I stare at her for a moment till the garden I was once in has now disappeared and I am back at the forest opening; Selene is still standing with me. “This is where it all happened for you my child, the day that made you forget the real purpose of what life is.”

I look at her. “This is where both my mother and I lost our lives that day, and I lost my voice.”

She nods, but she smiles. “I think you have rested long enough now Brooke, Willow has sent word to someone to replace you, but I would suggest using your voice when you see them.”

I look back at her, confused, but she touches her nose. “I wanted to give you something and it is a token for saving my children; you will be one powerful Luna.”

Selene leans forward and k****s my head. Her k**s was like a mothers k**s for a child; even though I was not her child, she treated me like one of her own.

“I will be watching my child,” she says as she walks backward. “You are going to be amazing, both Willow and you.”

She disappears into the night, I look around and notice the clearing as it was like the day of the attack.

Selene said I had to wait, well I am, but I want to……

Suddenly I can hear footsteps behind me.

I turn around to be face to face with the one person I asked to wait, Hudson.

“Hudson,” I said in my voice.
