The Alphas’ P**n Star Mate -
Chapter 43 – The Alphas’ Porn Star Mate
Miles
POV
Ever since last night, there has been this weird throbbing pain against my neck and this anxiety building in my chest.
"It's HIM," Ivar stressed to me once again. "We need to bring him home."
"Yeah. If it were that easy we would have done it years ago."
"Everything okay, Alpha?" Emily asked, sitting at the secretary's desk outside of mine and Dez's office. She's my Beta's mate, and filling in at the office while we sort out all the staff changes now that the new ranks taken over leadership. Without a Luna, and my mom busy taking care of pops, Emily is the next highest female and is doing her best to wrangle the new staffing.
"Yeah," I said, rubbing my neck. "I slept on it wrong, I guess," I lied.
"I know any number of she-wolves that would willingly work the kinks out for you," she grinned, winking at me. I growled at her and she laughed. "I'm just kidding. The elders did send a new list of Luna candidates, though. Want me to put them where I put the last ones." "In the trash," I nodded. The elders were impatient with getting the pack back to its full strength. A Luna is a sure way to strengthen our pack, but I'm not willing to give up whoever the goddess has fated me to just yet. I'll replace her when she's ready.
The phone on Emily's desk started to ring, so she turned back around to pick it up after throwing a manila envelope in the trash. I tried to focus on my work again, looking through the business files for the pack's investments, but then Emily turned back around with a frown on her face.
"Um, Alpha, you are needed at the gates."
"For what?" I looked up, confused by her expression and tone of her voice.
"There's a party of people asking for entrance on packlands. The guards said they were mostly rogues, so he didn't know what to do."
"Turn them away," I sighed. "I don't have time for unscheduled crap, especially rogues. You know that."
"I do, but the one requesting entrance was a member of this pack, and, uh, someone you wouldn't want to turn away."
Ivar is frantically pacing in my head. It's causing a headache. One I don't need right now.
"Who?"
Emily pressed her lips together nervously, gauging my reaction. "It's your brother, Miles. The guard said it was Mick."
I jumped up from my desk, half sprinting out the door before she finished speaking. I felt her running after me, but I didn't slow down.
"I told you," Ivar said excitedly. "He's back. I told you."
He did tell me, but I didn't want to hope for something I thought would never happen. I really was starting to think I would never see my brother again.
"Alpha, did you hear?" Billy, my Gamma, mind linked me and Dez at the same time.
"On my way now."
"It's really Mick," Dez said excitedly. "I just got here, Alpha. It's really him."
"Thank the fucking goddess," Billy exclaimed, almost as excited as me. He and Mick were really close. We all were. No one could have missed my twin as much as me, but I know they missed him a lot too. "Wow, you should see this group with him. All rogues, but they are the best kept rogues I have seen."
Being packless usually deteriorates rogue wolves' minds and causes them to look feral. We are social creatures and need the community of a pack.
"The girl doesn't smell all rogue, though. She doesn't have a pack scent, but doesn't have a rogue scent either."
"There's a girl?" Billy asked. "What does she look like?"
Dez laughed. "Like a woman from your wet dreams. Totally your type."
"Dibs."
Ivar snarled at Billy. I didn't know why and was too focused on the run to the gate to ask. He probably wanted us to focus on Mick being home and not some random rogue girl tagging along with Mick.
As I neared the gate, my face broke out in a smile seeing my brother at the front of the group waiting on the other side of our barred gate at the checkpoint. He was leaning on the front of a black Escalade, arms crossed, staring down at a brunette woman standing to the side among
a group of other werewolf men. There were three other men, all large and burly, not at all like the usual lanky build of rogue wolves. Dez was talking to them, probably questioning where they had come from and why they were rogues.
The girl. Like Mick, I couldn't take my eyes off her either. She was gorgeous, with thick brown hair and a small frame with tight curves. One of the men wearing a backwards baseball hat tried to touch her hip. Ivar snarled in my head at the same time that Mick pushed himself off the car with a deep scowl, but before he could do anything, the girl pushed the man's hand away and elbowed him hard in the gut. Hard enough that he fell to his knees.
"Dude, you never know when to quit," another man told the one on the ground, no one moving to help him.
The girl walked away towards Mick, who grabbed her hips and pulled her towards him. "I'm still mad at you too, but if I have to hear him bitch any more I'm going to castrate him," she said.
Mick whispered something in her ear, and a small smile broke out on her lips. She tried to hide it, but it still lit up her face.
Were they together? Did Mick bring a girlfriend back home?
I was about thirty feet away now, close enough to make out every feature of the girl's beautiful face. She was absolutely stunning.
"Miles," Mick saw me as I emerged from the trees, moving the girl behind him to face me. My guards stepped back from where they were blocking Mick's car from driving through. I don't care who these people are or why they were with my brother, and if he wants them here to come home, so be it. I just want my brother back. That's all that I cared about.
Then, a smell like the mountains, sage and fresh air hit me like a blow to the face. I was taken back for a second, my eyes growing wide, traveling past my long lost brother to the woman standing behind him with a confused frown on her face. Her eyes were locked on mine, but her hands moved to Mick's. She was confused, but I wasn't.
"Mate."
