The Alphas’ P**n Star Mate -
Chapter 99 – The Alphas’ Porn Star Mate
Mick POV
I woke up starving like I had never been hungry before. My stomach growling literally woke me from a dead sleep. "What the hell," I muttered, rubbing my eyes and sitting up in bed right after my stomach rolled thunderously again.
"You're a wolf now. Wolves need more calories since you're eating for two," Rome said, still rolled in a ball in my head, exhausted from his exertion last night. It was so weird how I could now not just hear him in my head, but see him when I focused on my mind. It was more vivid than visual thoughts, like a living dream, but more concrete. "You make it sound like I'm pregnant."
Rome grumbled. "Don't talk about pregnancy right now. Not after last night."
I looked over at Chloe, still sleeping soundly. I carefully tucked the blanket up to her shoulders before sliding out of bed. If my stomach growled any louder, it would wake her, and she looked too peaceful to wake up.
Me and my stupid mouth. I didn't realize she would even have trauma over getting pregnant too. Makes sense, given the pack she ran away from. Fire Moon values the Alpha's power more than anything it sounds like after hearing about it from Rome and Chloe. Most packs think having an heir is just as important as having a Luna, because it guarantees the bloodline and keeps the pack with a strong Alpha lineage.
Yeah, having an heir would be advantageous to the pack, but I value my mate too much to care about lineage or that kind of stuff. "Stupid parasite. You put the idea in my head."
"I know," Rome huffed, stretching his legs and flipping his tail as he got up. "I think she would look pretty pregnant. That's all."
"She would look pretty pregnant," I agreed, imagining her little curvy body with a firm baby bump.
That image will just have to stay in my head. I'm not bringing it up ever again. Or at least not until I'm sure she knows we have no expectations of her besides her love. Not as a mate and not as a Luna.
I slipped on some of Miles's clothes, a pair of sweats and a t-shirt, then made my way down the hall and down the stairs to the kitchen to replace something to hold me over until dinner tonight.
Dinner tonight. Goddess, I wish it was just with Nonna and not with my parents too. I've never felt like I met their expectations, and don't want Chloe to feel that way with them too. The whole porn star thing is still like a giant elephant in the room whenever we see them at meal times. I have no regrets, and I don't think Chloe does either, and don't like being condemned because I didn't fall in the limits of their moral compass.
If it wasn't for the decisions we made, I never would have found Chloe, and she could have been mated to someone else, like that asshole Boyd, if we didn't do that last video. Yeah, it screwed us, and displaced our whole Broom Stixxx family, but I still don't regret it. That may be selfish, but it's easy to be selfish when I have finally found my mate, who is without a doubt the hottest, sweetest woman alive, and I now have a wolf. She's my miracle.
"You can call me your miracle too. I'll allow it," Rome said, swishing his tail.
"You're a disease I can live with," I smirked, making a couple of peanut butter sandwiches and grabbing myself an apple from the giant fruit bowl.
"Rude much?" He scoffed. "I'm a majestic beast and way too beautiful to be called a disease."
"You're alright," I said, leaning against the kitchen counter, staring at my reflection in the glass cabinets, admiring myself. "I'm the one with the beauty between us though. I even make this apple look good." I bit my bottom lip, holding my chin and smoldering my eyes. "I'm the one with all the brain and brawl then. You look like an idiot."
"You're just jealous you don't look this good."
My modeling session was interrupted when someone choked on a laugh in the doorway leading to the stairs.
"Dude, you looked about two seconds from kissing your own reflection," Beau said.
"Can you blame me?" I flexed my arms with a cheesy grin. "I look hot."
He laughed and rolled his eyes. "Someone's in a good mood today."
I shrugged. "I had a good night."
"I heard," Beau smiled, but his eyes were lined with tension. "Congrats on the wolf, man. That's great."
"Thanks," I said cautiously. "Are you alright, though? You look stressed."
"Eh, a bit." He shrugged. "Did you happen to see Boyd when you were out last night? He said he was going for a run, but I don't think he came back."
"No," I stood straight. "I didn't see him after the interrogation yesterday. Did you try calling him?"
"He left his phone here," Beau said, fishing it out of his pocket and waving it in the air at me.
"Did you check with Rodger? He got a house on the outskirts for his sisters to use. Maybe he's with them?"
"Nah, I haven't checked yet. I'll do that now. Thanks," He said, heading for the kitchen exit. "As you were, pretty boy."
"You're just jealous!" I yelled after him.
"I'm sure he's not," Rome muttered. "Idiot."
