Isaac dropped the suitcase, trotted over to the drawer and fetched some ointment. "Come here."

Brittany obediently approached. Her face was beet red. It was clear that whoever had hit her had used a lot of force.

Isaac's eyes were like the pitch-black night sky. He squeezed out some ointment and began to apply it on her.

His fingers were rough, his touch steady, yet Brittany still winced in pain. She clenched the cushion tightly and murmured, "That hurts."

It really did. It had hurt when she was hit, and now even a light touch felt like it was tearing her apart!

Isaac lightened his touch. "Stay still."

Or else, he's gonna have to be rough!

Brittany clamped her mouth shut at his growl. Why was he still so angry even after he'd helped her?

He was very serious about applying the ointment, his gaze softened, and Brittany's heart skipped a beat. He was really handsome, with thick eyelashes. She was so mesmerized that she even forgot about the pain.

After applying the ointment, Isaac went to wash his hands in the kitchen. When he came out, he said, "It's getting late, get some rest."

Brittany licked her lips, asking, "How did you know where my rented place was?"

It didn't hit her before but now that she thought about it, it was really strange.

Isaac looked at her face. Although the swelling had gone down, it still looked a bit off. He couldn't tell Brittany the truth.

He went over to a drawer and pulled out a tablet. It was Brittany's. She must have forgotten it in her rush.

"There's rental info on the tablet."

Isaac opened the rental app, found the rental info, and slid the tablet towards Brittany.

Brittany took a deep breath. "Zakky, thanks for coming to my rescue tonight."

She couldn't even imagine what would have happened if Isaac hadn't shown up in time.

"Get some rest."

It was almost eleven, and she should go to bed.

Brittany took the tablet, and glanced at Isaac. "Zakky, thank you for saving me."

She leaned forward and lightly hugged Isaac, feeling the strong aura radiating from him. Her breathing hitched.

Her face flushed from the warmth; she let go and hurriedly left. Back in her room, Brittany leaned against the door, her heart pounding even more.

Isaac sat on the couch for a while before he got up and went into the bathroom. When he came out, he received a call from Mr. Hammer, "Zac, could you come to the hospital to see Loraine? She hurt her leg and she wants to see you." Isaac couldn't understand why Loraine wanted to see him. They had already cleared things up.

"Mr. Hammer, I have an important meeting tomorrow morning. I'll visit her if I have time. Tell her to take care of herself."

After hanging up, Mr. Hammer looked helplessly at Loraine. "I told you, Zac holds grudges. After what happened, there's no chance he'll get back with you."

Loraine's eyes reddened. She knew she had messed up. But she had apologized, why would Isaac rather marry useless Brittany than reconcile with her? A union between the Field and the Salter families was the right choice! "What, things got messed up?"

Upon hearing the news from the servants, Patrina angrily smashed her skincare product on the floor, "Can't you guys even handle such a simple thing?"

What a bunch of useless people! They let Brittany slip away last time.

When Patrina learned that Brittany was moving, she set a trap to ruin Brittany once and for all. She had even arranged for news coverage. But she never expected Brittany to be saved! "Who saved her?"

What kind of luck did Brittany have to keep getting saved over and over again!
