"They ran out of cash?"

"Don't you know?" Hannah was surprised and regretted her slip of the tongue. She added, "Don't worry, Bri. William can handle this."

"What exactly happened?" Brittany clenched Hannah's hand tight, "The cash flow issue come out of nowhere. How can that be?"

"I heard one of the projects got stuck. The big wigs wouldn't sign off on it, so all that money's gone down the drain. Now the Dillion family is figuring out a way to fix this." Hannah thought Brittany knew about this. After all, the Dillion family's cash problem was the talk of the town.

Brittany let go of her hand and lost her appetite, "Hannah, let's catch up later. I need to see William."

""Be safe."

Hannah watched her leave, feeling worried.

It seemed that she said something she shouldn't have.

Brittany knew William was busy, but she didn't expect this big mess. She hailed a taxi, and once inside, she called her assistant.

"Find out what's going on with Dillion Group's cash flow."

"Sure thing."

Her assistant quickly replied, "Ms. Dustin, Dillion Group has a funding gap of several hundred million dollars. If they don't come up with the money in time, they may go under." A gap of several hundred million dollars....

Brittany felt dizzy. She didn't even know what she said. After hanging up, she asked the driver to speed towards Dillion Group. She paid the fare and entered the building.

The situation at Dillion Group was dire so the entire building seemed shrouded in dark clouds.

The secretary saw her and forced a smile, 'Ms. Dustin, what brings you here?"

"Where's Mr. Dillion?"

Brittany saw the secretary's haggard face. She didn't dare to imagine the pressure William had been under these days, and she knew nothing about it. ""In his office."

The secretary knew the jig was up when Brittany showed up.

The situation at Dillion Group was grim. Lot of people came to collect debts or cancel contracts. Dillion Group was on the brink, so was Brittany coming to break up with Mr. Dillion? Or was she ready to face the difficulties with him? Brittany opened the office door and a strong smell of alcohol hit her.

"I'm sorry, Ms. Dustin, Mr. Dillion just got back from a dinner..." the secretary explained.

"I got it, you can go now."

The secretary's footsteps faded, and Brittany saw William lying on the sofa. His white shirt was crumpled, a few buttons undone. The usually refined man looked utterly exhausted.

Brittany walked over to the sofa and squatted down, "William."

She reached out, gently nudging William's shoulder.

William had drunk a lot., His brow furrowed, and he opened his eyes in a daze, "Bri?"

There was a flash of surprise in his eyes, then he quickly sat up, wiping his face, "Bri, why are you here?"

"If I didn't come, how long were you planning to keep this from me?"

"You...you know that all?" William knew he couldn't hide it, but he still tried to keep Brittany as happy as possible. He wiped his face and forced a smile, "Bri, I'm sorry; I didn't mean to." He looked tired, but still tried to put on a brave face.

Brittany felt sorry for him. She avoided his gaze and poured him a glass of water, "Drink some water first."

William took the glass and took a small sip, "Actually, I didn't want you to know about this. I didn't want you to worry."

"I have some funds available." Brittany sat next to him, "Tomorrow morning, I'll inject all the funds into Dillion Group, then we'll replace a bank"

"No.

William slammed the glass on the table, "I don't need your money. I didn't tell you this only because I didn't want to drag you into this mess."

"William Brittany interrupted him, "If it were me, would you help me?"
