"Mr. Salter, really went for a vasectomy?"

Brittany nodded: "Yeah, he did."

She had seen the whole procedure.

Hannah had just gotten out of her postpartum phase, her figure not quite back to its former glory: "Most guys wouldn't dream of getting a vasectomy, you know?" Most couples stick to condoms or the pill.

"What, thinking about getting Derek to do it?"

"No." Hannah shook her head. "If Derek did it, how would we have a second kid?"

"A second one?"

Brittany was puzzled; hadn't Hannah just had a baby?

"I didn't tell you, did I? I actually love kids." Hannah smiled openly. "Before I got married, I wanted a whole bunch of them, and I wanted to homeschool them all." "What does Derek say?"

Derek didn't seem too keen on kids.

"He's cool with it."

"You've just had a baby, your body hasn't fully healed yet. Maybe wait a bit before thinking about the next one?"

Brittany was worried about Hannah's health.

Derek treated Hannah well, and she was happy, naturally wanting more kids.

"I know." Hannah leaned back, eyeing Brittany's belly closely: "I was about as big as you when I was pregnant. You're definitely having a girl."

"The doctor said the same, most likely."

"Perfect, she can be best friends with my daughter!"

Hannah pouted: "Ever since my daughter was born, my dad's been all over her, the whole family's forgotten about me!"

She was no longer the princess of the house!

"That's just because they love you," Brittany said with a smile.

Hannah grinned: "I love my daughter too, so cuddly and well-behaved, needs me to sing her to sleep every night..."

Both new moms, they found endless topics in their children.

The conversation lasted until the evening when Derek came to pick up Hannah.

Seeing Brittany comfortably settled in the hospital, he remarked: "Zac seems really anxious."

Brittany, on the other hand, was the picture of relaxation.

Brittany sighed: "He's making a mountain out of a molehill."

"It's just because he's worried about

vol.ne

you." Derek handed her a soup Tanya Chester had made: "Mom made you this soup, make sure you have some."

Brittany had been having soup so often lately, she was nearly sick of it: "Thanks a lot."

After Derek took Hannah away, Brittany craved not soup, but barbecue.

Isaac was off talking to the doctor.

When he came back, he found Brittany out of her hospital gown and in a maternity dress, looking ready to head out: "Where are you

off to?" ne

"Zakky, I'm craving barbecue."

Brittany approached him: "Korean barbecue!"

Isaac was hesitant: "Bri, you can't go out now, just stay put in the hospital. I'll order takeout, okay?"

"That's not the same."

The whole point of barbecue was eating it fresh off the grill, takeout just wouldn't cut it.

Isaac frowned, but Brittany cupped

his chin, her eyes brimming with et

hope: "Honey, I really want barbecue. I can't have anything I want during I confinement, please?"

Isaac wavered: "Only this once."

Brittany grinned triumphantly, planting a kiss on his lips: "Let's go now, honey."

Isaac himself wasn't much into barbecue.

But Brittany loved it.

So he took Brittany to their old favorite Korean barbecue spot.

After six years, the owner recognized them immediately.

"It's you guys."

"Pregnant?" The owner's wife laughed heartily. "Looks like you're due soon?" "Yes, any day now."

Isaac pulled out a chair for Brittany: "Could we get some fresh juice, please?"
