Chapter 89

After we traveled for a long time we still did not reach the cave that Lester and Tart were talking about. The sun has already set and we don't notice the passing of time. After a while, we stopped at a cave.

"Is it still far?" Uncle Raso asked.

"I don't know why I can't replace the tunnel where we're going in," Lester said confused.

"I didn't see the signs either," agreed Tart.

"I don't believe what you're saying, maybe you just don't want to tell the tunnel to your leader," Marcus said angrily.

"Relax dude, why don't we tell you where our den is? We have an agreement," Lester answered.

"It's like someone is using magic to hide our path," I answered. They all turned their attention to me. "I've been noticing that fat tree for a while now." I pointed to a big tree, we had been traveling for hours but I always saw that tree. "Maybe you just see the same tree," Berg answered.

"I also feel something strange around me, like someone is watching us," Hanz said.

"Then we have to spend the night here first to observe. Because if we just continue the journey, we might get tired and they might take advantage of that to attack us," Uncle Raso suggested and everyone agreed.

The others started looking for wood and made a fire, while Marcus and I looked for animals and fruits that we could eat.

Some time passed and the surroundings started to get dark. Now we are inside a small cave and sitting around the fire waiting for our food to cook. No one brought a drink either, so we got our drink from the water flowing in the cave. As we surrounded the fire I noticed the sad expression of Lester and Tart.

"Why does it seem like you weren't happy?" I asked and everybody turned their attention to me.

"I'm just worried about my family," Lester replied. It seems like he didn't care about anything but now I saw another him.

"That's what I have in mind right now," Tart said sadly.

"Why? Are they in danger?" Uncle Raso began to ask.

"No, we are just worried because we have a law to follow. Anyone who betrays will be punished with death along with the whole family," Lester replied.

"So why do you still want to join that fucking group or what?" Marcus asked.

"We don't want to but they're threatening us. They want to take revenge."

"For what?" I asked. Lester turned his attention to me.

"Because of your dad," he slowly said. We were all surprised by his answer.

Why? Dad is in another country so he can't be behind others.

"Why?"

"We don't know, we only know a little information," he replied.

"If the problem is with your dad, why did they take mom?" Marcus asked and his eyebrows began to rose.

"I don't know either," I answered.

"You know Drake, I don't want to say this but why does it seem like mom is paying for your sins," he said angrily, I also started to feel angry because of what he said.
