Chapter 211: PLANS GONE WRONG

The thought that Anya could have married much better than she expected ignited Kelsey's resolve to marry well. Anya was busy living well while she was facing bankruptcy. She refused to go back to the way things were. The car arrived at the Leslie manor, and she stepped out.

The familiar sight greeted her eyes. She took a deep breath. Smoothing her blouse, she mentally prepared her speech. She already made up her mind on how she was going to approach this.

She walked to the front door and pressed the doorbell. It echoed within.

The door flung wide, and a butler looked at her with a complicated expression.

Chapter 211 PLANS GONE WRONG

"Miss Jackson. The young master is busy with work," the lanky man said, but Kelsey just brushed past him with a frown. Since when could she not enter because Andrew was working?

She walked briskly into the living room, where Mrs. Leslie had just gotten up about to leave. An awkward smile attempted to mask her discomfort as she greeted Kelly. "Oh, Kelsey, dear, what a surprise. Come in, come in.'

Mrs. Leslie spoke in a polite manner, yet something about her tone felt off, but no matter how hard she thought, Kelsey couldn't quite put her finger on it.

Entering the familiar abode, Kelsey's eyes swept the surroundings, instantly picking up a subtle aroma of Andrew's perfume. So he was home.

She saw the uncomfortable look in Mrs. Leslie's eyes and felt suspicious that something was going on. But she dismissed it; perhaps it was her imagination.

Following Mrs. Leslie, they arrived in the living room. She spotted people in the other living room and looked that way and froze.

Andrew lounged casually on the couch, his face holding a nonchalant expression. A disheveled woman was beside him; she was dressed in his shirt and snacking on some fruit.

Kelsey wasn't stupid; she understood the implications of what she was looking at.

She looked back at Mrs. Leslie and could not help frowning at the look on her face. The older woman looked as though she had given up and sat back down on the couch.

Kelsey marched into the living room, startling Andrew and his companion. Andrew froze and looked to his mother in the other room, and she shrugged. He had thought that someone had told Kelsey to go away. He had not thought they would actually let her in. Seeing the look on her face, he sighed and rubbed his temple.

"Andrew... what... who is she?"

The woman in question sensed what was going on and introduced herself.

"I am Sarah," she told Kelsey in a courteous way, though Kelsey could still pinpoint the underlying emotion. She was mocking her.

Andrew met her eyes, lacking any guilty or apologetic look. "Kelsey, this is..." He began.

But Kelsey's scream cut him off, a blend of shock and betrayal ringing through the room. She could not believe it. She did not even realize she had screamed till Mrs. Leslie

Mrs. Leslie scolded, annoyed, "Kelsey, dear, no need for such drama."

Ignoring Mrs. Leslie, Kelly focused on Andrew again. "How could you betray me like this? After all we've faced to be together?"

Andrew stayed eerily composed, too composed for Kelsey's liking. "It's not what you think, Kelly. We'll discuss this later. Don't create drama," he said calmly, seemingly protecting the girl beside him.

Kelsey couldn't think clearly. Her cheeks were wet with tears. She looked around. Andrew's family didn't seem surprised. Their faces showed no emotion.

"Why?" Kelsey's voice was full of hurt. "Why would you do this to me?"

Mrs. Leslie's answer was cold and simple. "Men cheat, dear. It happens. Didn't he cheat on Anya with you? I thought you knew how it works."

The words felt like a slap to Kelsey. They were mocking her pain. Humiliation and anger burned inside her, taking away any hint of rationality she had left.

Without thinking, she grabbed a nearby vase and hurled it at Mrs. Leslie, the sound of which slammed into their ears as the glass shattered on Mrs. Leslie's head, causing her to fall to the ground completely unconscious. Chapter 211. PLANS GONE WRONG

As though he had just realized what happened, Andrew rushed to restrain Kelsey, his voice filled with panic. "Kelsey, stop! What are you doing?"

But Kelsey was beyond reason; her emotions were spiraling out of control. The maids, who were watching nearby, hurriedly called the ambulance. Mrs. Leslie was not moving.

The news of Kelsey's arrest soon made its way back to the Jackson household, sending the family into a panic.

Sandra Jackson, Kelsey's mother, was a dramatic woman, so it was probably not advisable that she was the first to receive the call, but she was the one who did. Her face was draining of color

as she listened to the details.

"Rodney! Rodney, hurry!" Sandra cried out, her voice trembling. "Something's happened to Kelsey. She's been arrested!"

"Arrested? What on earth happened?"

Chapter 211 PLANS GONE WRONG

Sandra shook her head, her hands shaking. "I don't know, but we have to go to the police station immediately."

Without a moment's hesitation, the Jackson family, including Kelsey's grandmother, Old Madam Jackson, piled into their car and sped towards the police station. The drive was filled with a tense silence, punctuated only by the occasional gasp or murmur of worry. As they arrived at the station, the Jackson family burst through the doors, their eyes

frantically searching for any sign of Kelsey. It was then that they spotted the Leslie family in a heated discussion with the officers.

Sandra's expression darkened as she recognized the leslies. "What is the meaning of this?"

she demanded, her voice laced with anger.

Andrew turned to face the Jackson family with a stern expression. "Your daughter has caused quite a scene and assaulted my mother. We're pressing charges."

Old Madam Jackson, the family matriarch, stepped forward, her eyes ablaze with fury. Charges? How dare you! What has my granddaughter done to warrant such treatment?" Chapter 211: PLANS GONE WRONG

Andrew's father, Mr. Leslie, his arms crossed, met Old Madam Jackson's gaze. He was beyond angry. He could not believe the audacity of these people.

"She threw a vase at my wife, nearly killing her. We are definitely pressing charges."

Kelsey, who had been brought out from the holding area, broke down in tears. The moment she had thrown the vase, she knew that it was going to end this way. She refused to admit to whatever they were claiming.

"It's not true! Andrew was cheating on me, and when I confronted him, his family turned against me!"

Sandra rushed to her daughter's side, enveloping her in a tight embrace. "My poor baby," she cried, her own tears streaming down her face. She looked as though the whole world had wronged her daughter.

"You family must think we are tofu. You can bully us and slander us at the same time. And as

for

you. I let you into my family. How dare you betray my granddaughter?" She said to them before facing Andrew.

Chapter 211: PLANS GONE WRONG

"You let me into your family? Your granddaughter crawled into my bed the night of my engagement to your other granddaughter, and instead of getting angry at her, you insisted that I take responsibility even though it ended my engagement. How can you talk about betrayal?" Andrew asked, and Sandra was so angry, she grabbed a fistful of Andrew's hair, and the police officers hurried to intervene, trying to separate them."

"Both sides, calm down or I am throwing you all into the cell," the officer declared, and things calmed down.

• "This is a civil issue. The victim has decided to press charges, so you will have to bring your lawyer," the officer said to the Jackson family.
