The Blood Moon Twins -
Epilogue
Several months later...

e treaty made centuries ago that stopped all of us from interacting together. We planned on creating a new treaty that allowed the different species to co- ne on board, but we knew that in order to create the future I saw, we couldn't sit by and do nothing.
My mom finally pulled away and tried to discreetly wipe her tears away. "I know. I'm just so proud of you for taking this on." Blade and I were heading out as emissaries to talk to various covens and sorcerer's clans about disso mingle and create a new world with less prejudice. We knew it would take time and be difficult to get Caulder and Harper stood on the porch, waiting in the shadows. When I first brought up the idea to Ca longest time we had spent apart was the month he had been held captive by the Council of Magic, andling This was different, but we knew we would be apart for much longer. Blade and I planned on visiting as been there to support me, but he had his own life to live here.
It wouldn't be long until he took on more and more alpha responsibilities until the title was passed o always be my home and my pack.
"Stay safe, and don't talk to anyone who seems dangerous," my mom continued. I had tuned out most with the new treaty we wanted to create.
"Adira, honey, they are not children anymore," my dad said, stepping in to stop my mom from delaying "I know," she said, a frown deepening in her face. "But I wasn't ready for her to leave the nest so soon I threw my arms around my mom and dad, giving them both one last hug before I left. "I love you both "Call anyway," my dad said, holding me for a moment longer.
After we all parted from the hug, my dad practically pulled my mom away as Caulder finally approach "You better not get into too much trouble, like usual," Caulder said, giving me a pointed look. "You better not run this pack to the ground," I teased.

his hands in his pockets. Blade conveniently found some things that needed to be rearranged in the car as he disappeared from my side.
We both laughed, and when the sound faded, there was an uncomfortable silence filling the air. Neither of us knew what to say. We had always lived our lives together, and the idea of living completely separate lives was not something that had ever occurred to me growing up. It didn't occur to him either.
"If you ever get into trouble, I'll come bail you out, no matter how far away you are," Caulder finally said.
"I'll call you if I need you." I paused and then decided to add, "I'll also call when I miss you."
"I know I'm the best brother ever and you'll miss me terribly, but you don't have to call me daily," Caulder teased.
I laughed, but I could also feel the tears starting to threaten my eyes. "Well, I make no promises."
Caulder could sense the strain in my voice, and his smile shifted to one that was more forced. "In all seriousness, call as much as you want."
"And call me before you do anything big. I want to be here for all of the special moments, like when you propose." I gave him a wink, and he started to blush.
"That won't happen for a little while still," he said. He glanced back at Harper, and he smiled bigger than before. I had never seen him as happy as when he looked at Harper. He had come a long way from the wild teenager he used to be.
"I still want to hear about it beforehand," I said.
"Same to you," he said, looking back at Blade.
I hadn't thought much about marrying Blade, since I was happy enough being mates, but the thought of marrying him one day made my heart race in the best way possible. "Of course," I said.
Another awkward silence filled the air as we fought to replace something to say.
"I really will miss you," I said. "I'm not sure what I'm going to do without you." Tears pricked my eyes, and the idea of leaving suddenly felt heavier than before. I had been trying to avoid thinking about what I would be leaving behind, since I knew there was good I had to do in the world. Caulder pulled me into a big hug, and we just held onto each other in silence. When we finally pulled apart, we both smiled, knowing no matter how far away from each other we were, we would always be each other's best friend.

CAULDER
Everyone finished their goodbyes, and then we all watched Remy and Blade drive away. No one moved until the car was out of sight. It was strange thinking Remy wouldn't be around all of the time anymore. She had been my rock for all of my life, and while we would always be there for each other, things were different now. I had Harper, and she had Blade.
Harper and I were the last ones standing on the porch as the others trickled away to distract themselves with other responsibilities. I couldn't get myself to leave quite yet, despite the late summer heat building as the day went on.
"Are you okay?" Harper asked, breaking the silence. She squeezed my hand, showing me she was here for me.
"I'm a little sad," I admitted. "But I'm also happy. I think Remy will be amazing on this new adventure."
Harper leaned into me, and I could feel her own sadness washing through her. Remy had always been there for Harper, too, so I wasn't the only one losing a best friend.
"She has always been a little antsy here. I think part of her knew she didn't belong, which was why she so desperately tried to fit in," Harper said. "I hope she replaces her place out there."
"She will," I said confidently. "She will fight everyone to make sure of that."
Harper giggled, distracting her from her own sniffles. "I would love to see that."
"Me too," I said. Remy was too spirited to back down. "But we're needed here."
The pack had fallen into a routine since the day of the battle, but there was still a lot of hurt in the pack. A lot of families broke that day, and I knew some of our pack members were struggling. Day by day, I wanted to do what I could to make that pain just a little bit less. "You're going to be an amazing alpha," Harper said, looking up into my eyes. "You are already so good to this pack."
"Same to you," I said, thinking about the way Harper was with Rido. Because of the effort Harper had put into him, Rido had made strides, and he had even made friends with some of the werewolves his age. It was like he had found the place he finally belonged. "I can't wait for you to be my luna."
Harper blushed, turning away. "I'm already yours."
I smiled and guided her face to mine, closing the distance between our lips. She would always taste amazing to me, and I was excited to spend the rest of my life with her. I knew one day she would be my beautiful wife and hopefully give me some beautiful pups as well.
"I love you, Harper," I said, kissing her forehead.
"I love you, too, Alpha Caulder," she said with a tease in her voice.
It was enough to make my wolf growl with excitement, though. "I liked that," I whispered lowly in her ear. I scooped her into my arms and brought her into the pack house with her giggling the entire way to the room. My chest already felt lighter, and I knew with Harper by my side, it would be easier to handle the distance with my twin, who was out trying to make the world a better place.
"You are going to do amazing things," I linked Remy, even though I didn't know if she was still in range for linking.
A few minutes went by, and there was only silence, so I resigned from the idea of communicating with my sister through linking. But then I heard her say, "And so will you. I'm looking forward to the future we will create."
