The Ceo's Contracted Mistress
The Ceo’s Contracted Mistress Chapter 55

Bobbie considered a good night’s sleep and some distance from Oliver and his family had given her a better perspective of the events which had transpired the night before. She was ready to talk with him again, but she hoped he had the same experience overnight.

The night before he’d been pig-headed and stunningly obtuse. She was about to roll out of the bed to go search for him and the kids but a gentle knock on the door had her looking up in surprise.

Olivier’s blonde head poked around the door, “safe to come in?”

She eyed him cautiously, “depends on what will be coming out of your mouth.”

He entered the room and locked the door behind him. “There are five kids running amuck. If we want to talk uninterrupted, I’m locking the door.”

She nodded and watched as he moved to sit on the edge of the bed. “Olivier, yesterday was a lot to absorb.”

“I know it was. Please I have some things to say, and I hope, it will fix this feeling between us.”

“I hope so because I truly don’t enjoy feeling the way I did last night. I don’t like sleeping alone when you’re home and I don’t like feeling we are disconnected.”

“I owe you an apology,” he started to speak. “While I still feel very strongly what I did was necessary to protect you and the twins from the chaos we are currently facing, I realize this was a decision you and I should have made together. I should have asked your permission before doing the interview and revealing your secrets and we should have discussed together what portions you were comfortable with sharing.”

His apology took the wind out of her sails. “Olivier, I just wish you had given me a heads up. I don’t like the world knowing our story but if you had come to me and said it was the only way, I would have trusted you to make the right decision for us, but you robbed me of this.”

He squeezed her fingers, “and it is not a mistake I will make again. I promise, moving forward any decisions pertaining to our family will be mutually decided ones.”

She nodded, “thank you.”

“Is there anything you want to discuss? Anything I said yesterday you wish to discuss? I am willing to listen to what your concerns are and sort through them with you. You are the most important person in my world Bobbie. Ahead of our children. I meant what I said to Max and Ollie in the past. You are the heart of our family. When you are hurting, we don’t function. I need to make sure we are okay. I love you too much to treat my error in judgement carelessly. What do you need from me?”

She touched his stubbled cheek with her fingertips. “Olivier, to hear you say this to me is enough. I love you. I only need you to respect me and to remember we are in this together.”

He leaned forward and pressed his lips gently against hers, as her fingers stroked his face. His nose brushed against hers and she sighed at the k**s.

“I missed you when you were gone.”

“I missed you,” he whispered back. He nudged her h*p with his knee, “move over.”

“Why?” she made a face, “don’t get any ideas. The friend I was expecting is here and is not looking like she’s going to leave any time soon.”

He chuckled at her words, “first of all, I could care less. It’s what washing machines and showers were created for. Also, I slept, or rather I attempted to sleep, in a sleeping bag with both Max and Ollie last night in a tent, in a field. My bones hurt in places they shouldn’t. A moth flew into the tent and Max freaked out which resulted in me getting kicked in the nuts, which Timon found quite funny. Then Ollie ate her body weight in marshmallows and vomited on me. Again. I never want to hold her hair while she pukes again. Why must she have all those beautiful curls flying everywhere when she’s vomiting profusely. Elise gagged so hard I was certain she was next.”

Bobbie looked him up and down, “you’ve been puked on, and you want to get in bed?”

“I’ve showered and changed but I desperately need to hold my fiancée and recharge my batteries.”

She lifted the blanket and saw him grin as he took in her attire.

“You weren’t wearing my shirt when I left you last night.”

She held up a finger, “shut it.”

He chuckled and drew her close to him. “Chérie, I love you. I am going to make mistakes and it’s probably going to take a few smacks to my head for me to see sense but don’t give up on me.” His words were whispered against her hair.

“I won’t give up on you Olivier. I might need to sleep on my thoughts though when you pull s**t like this.”

“I can agree to give you space to sort out how you feel, and you can agree to give me a blowjob after.”

She was about to agree when it dawned on her what he’d said. She laughed and slapped his chest, “fool.”

He laughed too, “I am your fool.”

The thundering pounding of feet down the hall made him g***n, “shh, pretend we’re sleeping.”

“Mom, Dad why is the door locked?” Ollie bellowed through the closed door. She kicked it for good measure.

“We are sleeping!” Olivier called back

“No, you’re not,” Ollie laughed at him. “You can’t sleep and talk.”

“Papa,” Max protested, “open the door. We want to cuddle you and maman.”

Olivier looked down at Bobbie who was now resting her chin on his chest grinning at him. “They are like wild boars foraging. They can’t stop themselves. They would eat until they explode. In this case they will pummel the door down.”

He reached for her as she rolled off him to walk to the door and unlock it. “Don’t do it Bobbie. My parents will distract them.”

“Papa!” Max wailed for him to open up.

Bobbie grinned as she heard Olivier mutter “cockblock” under his breath. She knew why he’d wanted under her blankets. It wasn’t for sleep. He clearly didn’t care about mother nature’s involvement in her life. Everly would be jealous.

She looked over her shoulder at him. “you know your father suggested we talk to the priest and have a conversation about whether we should wait to have relations again until we’re married.”

Olivier’s face grew cold, “I reject his recommendation from the very depths of my soul. It’s like closing the barn door after the horses are out.” He waved at the two kids who stormed into the room and jumped into the middle of the bed. “Large noisy horses have been out of the barn for some time. There is no point locking it up now.”

“I’m going to pretend you didn’t just liken my parts to a barn,” she swung a pillow at him before disappearing into the bathroom. His wide grin was contagious.

“Mom,” Ollie yelled at her. “Hurry up. We need to cuddle.”

“Why?” Bobbie closed the bathroom door against the sound of her kids jumping on the bed and Olivier warning them to be careful.

“Mamaw said dad was going to give you lots of love after being away from you for two nights. We thought we should help.” Ollie explained as she landed on her knees on the bed.

“How kind of you,” Olivier’s sarcasm wasn’t lost on Bobbie, and she giggled at his frustrated tone. He cautioned Ollie to be careful she didn’t crack her skull again now that she had her stitches out. Levi had called in a doctor to look her over. He’d given her a clean bill of health. She appeared ready to take on a new injury based on her exuberant jumping.

Bobbie came out of the bathroom and crawled back on the bed and snuggled up next to Olivier. “I think it’s a good thing you’re here.” Bobbie told them not needing to look at Olivier’s face to know he was scowling.

“You do?” Max jumped and landed on Olivier’s torso eliciting a loud grunt.

“I do. We have a family decision to make. It’s an important one so we all need to be involved.” Bobbie held Max’s dark eyes seriously and watched as he frowned and shoved his glasses up his nose absently.

Olivier lifted up on his elbows and narrowed his gaze on her. “What have I missed?”

“I think we should set a wedding date.” Bobbie gave a shrug as she avoided his gaze, knowing he was going to gloat, “but we have to be mindful of the kids schedules and so on. I thought we could make the decision together.”

“You want to set a wedding date?” Olivier reached out and turned her chin to face him. “This is your choice and not pressure from my family?”

She could see the hope blazing in his eyes like an inferno. “If I’m honest, I love your family and I just want to be part of it. I don’t really want to marry you, but I want to marry them.” She gave a smirk just before he lunged at her and tickled her sides telling the kids to get maman.

She laughed loudly as they all piled atop her to tickle her, and she wriggled to get away. “I give up!” she conceded.

Olivier kissed her nose and smiled down at her. “How soon?”

“Today!” Ollie screamed excitedly.

“These things take time,” Bobbie protested.

“Saturday?” Olivier offered. “Gael is already coming. We can fly Everly, Grady, Prue, and Lark in. I’m sure papa can get one of his many priest friends or maybe Veronique will do it.”

Bobbie paled, “oh God I forgot she is coming today.”

“I will deal with her.” He leaned over her expectantly. “Well?”

“Well, what?” she played dumb

“Saturday. You. Me. Married.” He grinned at her. “We can do it right here at the estate.”

“Its so soon.” She paused.

“You wanted a long engagement?”

“No,” she shook her head, “but I didn’t think it would be in three days. Can we make it happen in three days?”

“Do you forget how much money I have? I could make it happen yesterday.” He was sliding out of the bed and calling the kids to come help him get ready.

Ollie stood staring at her from the edge of the bed. “You’re really going to marry my dad?”

“Are you okay with me marrying your dad?” Bobbie asked her daughter seriously.

Ollie twisted her foot nervously, “does this mean you are going to have a baby?”

“We are a long way off a baby,” Bobbie stared at both her children earnestly. “Getting married doesn’t automatically make babies.”

“What if I really want a sister?”

“You don’t get to choose.” She argued, “if I were pregnant, it could be a boy, but we are putting the horse so far ahead of the cart it’s painful. There are no plans for babies. Just plans for getting married, being a family and living together.”

Olivier leaned over and whispered loudly in Ollie’s ear, “we will work on her about the baby thing. First, we need to replace her a wedding dress. Come help me replace the perfect dress.”

Max suddenly jumped up as if he were in a trance, “yay! My mom is going to marry my dad! I’m going to go tell Mamaw!”

The three of them raced out of the room and Bobbie shook her head at how excited were. She needed reinforcements. She called Everly.

“It’s not even seven.” Everly m****d as she answered on the second ring.

“I have the Villeneuve which coming to do some fertility thing on me today involving chickens and rum. I just agreed to get married on Saturday here at the estate, so I need you here as my maid of honor and I need Grady to give me away. Also, I think I want to toss my birth control pills and be pregnant like you. In essence I’m f****d in the head, and I need you to talk me down.”

Everly’s shriek nearly punctured her eardrum. “Oh my god! Saturday?”

“I said I was ready to set a date and suddenly Olivier said Saturday and that was that.” She flung herself into her pillows.

“You obviously sorted out the s**t show from yesterday.”

“Yes. He realizes he cannot make decisions concerning our family without my input, especially when those decisions have the possibility of humiliating me.”

“I for one, found his interview romantic but I’m pregnant, hormonal and I ate a tub of mint chip fudge for breakfast.” Everly laughed.

Bobbie could hear Grady in the background. “Ask him if he can be here Saturday to give me away. I need my brother from another mother.” She waited for Everly to pose the question and then giggled as the crackling of the phone while they wrestled over it filled her ears.

“Bobbie. Yes, I will be there. I need you back in the office Monday though. The other paralegal does not possess a quarter of your skills and I need my partner back.” Grady’s voice covered Everly’s protests.

“My vacation is up on Sunday so shouldn’t be a big deal.” Bobbie hated to admit she was enjoying not working and spending time with her new family but keep knew she’d be bored soon if she didn’t get back.

“You really going to do it? Marry him?” he asked. “Is this what you want?”

“Yes. It is what I want. I love him, Grady. I love him and I want it all with him. He says he can make it for Saturday, and he will fly you here.”

“Are you pregnant? Is this a shotgun wedding? His religious family pushing you?”

She giggled at her best friend’s words. “No. It’s my choice and my decision. There are no babies.”

“Hold on. Everly wants you on speaker.”

Everly’s voice was as clear as if she were in the room, “what did you mean about the Villeneuve witch?”

Bobbie g*****d loudly, “Veronique called me last night to ask me how my heart was after the interview and suggested I needed a spiritual cleansing to ensure my eggs are not negatively impacted by my bad energy. She mentioned a chicken, eggs, b***d, and rum. She said something about performing a ceremony and Levi grabbed the phone to tell her no, but it was too late. She said she would drive in sometime today from wherever her home is.”

“I kind of want to be there to watch,” Grady said laughing.

“Hush Grady,” Bobbie gave him an urgent warning. “I will tell her of your curiosity and let her school you in her magic.”

Everly’s voice sounded distant and then she laughed,” I just got a text from Olivier with information on our flights and a list of six different dress designs.”

“It’s been ten minutes and he’s gone groomzilla.” Bobbie complained as she yanked a pillow over her face.

“Be grateful he’s interested,” Everly’s tone was sharp. “Grady had one duty and it was to show up and he screwed that up.”

“I read the eleven as a one,” he laughed. “It was a good thing my PA at the time was so damn smart.”

“Too right,” Bobbie laughed

“Hey,” Everly cut her off. “Lark has a hairbrush stuck in her hair again. I have to go. I’ll see you Saturday.”

“Bye.” She sighed as the phone went dead.

She was getting married. Olivier Villeneuve had asked her to marry him, she had said yes and now it was happening. Somehow, she felt with all the craziness going on, this was the right thing to do. She prayed she wasn’t messing with fate.
