The CEO's Lovely Twins -
Chapter 304 The Rumor
Hayden looked at Joseph carefully. But he seemed to behave as usual, as if he did not hear what they had said. Then she sighed with relief.
Stella and Noah still wanted to go to the back hill in the afternoon. But Harrison was no longer interested. Hayden wondered if Harrison was still thinking about Joseph's parents. She felt sorry for her rashness during the lunch time, so she asked Stella and Noah to accompany Harrison in his study.
Hayden told Stella, "Harrison is upset now. Be a good boy and good girl, and try to make him happy."
Although a child, Stella was quite clever. She blinked her eyes, "Why is he upset? Is it because you don't agree to marry Joseph?"
Hayden patted Stella on the head, "Nonsense. Have you got it?"
"Alright, I got it." Stella touched her head and pouted, "Mommy! Do not tap my head! I want to grow taller."
Hayden rubbed at Stella's head, "OK, I won't tap again. Go upstairs with Noah, hurry."
Stella was naughty and lazy usually. However, she was enthusiastic about making others happy, so she grabbed Noah's hand and ran upstairs at once. She even made a face at Hayden while running, "Yes, madam!"
Joseph was reading a book on the sofa. After hearing Stella's lovely voice, he raised his head from the book and saw Hayden was standing at the stair, telling the kids to slow down.
With the bright sunlight streaming through the window, Hayden basked in the sunshine, which looked wonderful.
At that moment, Joseph felt that all the furniture came alive because of Hayden.
"It's time to plan your wedding."
Joseph kept replaying what Harrison had said in his mind. He should be impatient, but in fact, he was glad to hear that.
If he got married with Hayden, he would raise the kids with her. And they would enjoy the company of each other, which sounded fantastic compared to the days when he was alone. Why did he never think of it?"
After publishing the advertisement, the Downey Group had held a meeting to discuss the effectiveness of the advertising according to the relevant statistics. They concluded that the sales doubled year on year due to Léon's celebrity charm.
"He will endorse our product for a year. And we may consider extending the contract a year later if the sales kept increasing..."
Talking about the brand spokesperson with the executive of Publicity Department, Hayden was interrupted by a knock at the door.
"Come in."
"Ms. Downey," Anna walked in, "Léon's assistant sent you some gifts. Where do you want to put these?"
Hayden was confounded, "What gifts?"
"He said you had given him a coat. But he stained it, so he bought you new ones." Anna said, with amazement.
The executive asked bluntly, "He's your friend?"
"No." Hayden flicked him a glance. She didn't quite catch what Anna said, so she replied, "Just a coat, put it on the couch. You handle this."
Anna didn't know what to do, "I can't handle these by my own."
Hayden was bewildered. Anna opened another side of the door. And two young men came in with a lot of bags. The corner in the office was soon piled with those bags.
Hayden stared at the corner, "Isn't it just a coat? What are all these stuff for?"
Anna asked the assistant to explain, "Wait, please tell Ms. Downey what's going on here."
The assistant rubbed his head, "Léon said the mall no longer sold the coat that you gave him. But he felt sorry about it, so he bought all the new clothes of this brand, including the accessories. They are all your size."
Anna and the executive looked into each other's eyes with surprise.
These clothes were expansive. Léon might run out of all his endorsement fee. He was generous with his money.
Hayden frowned, "There's no need. It's just a coat. Take the clothes back and return them."
"We came here to send you the clothes." He waved his hand, "We can't take these back. If you don't want the clothes, you'd better tell him by yourself. Don't make us feel difficult please." Saying that, they left the office quickly.
"Ms. Downey, ..."
Anna looked at Hayden.
"Keep them." Hayden frowned and felt vexed again, "I'll call Léon when I'm free."
Anna sighed with relief. She was afraid that Hayden would ask her to return these.
She had been asked so many questions about Hayden by Léon these days. She was ardent at the beginning. But then she felt tired.
Anna found it exhausted to deal with a puppet boy.
With all these clothes lying in a heap on the floor, Hayden was frequently distracted from her work, so she asked the executive to leave.
Looking at the bags for a while, Hayden asked Anna to come in, "Calculate the total price of the clothes."
Anna was shocked, "Now?"
"Yeah." Hayden took out a label from the bag and had a look, "There are still the labels. Add up all the tag price."
Anna was a little confused, but she started to calculate the price without further asking. Ten minutes later, she gave Hayden a total number, "That's the total price." "Thanks." Hayden nodded and looked at her watch, "It's getting late. You may come home."
"Okay."
After Anna left, Hayden found the bank account of Léon and transferred the money to him.
She took a breath and sat down. Looking at the amount of transfer, she felt regretful.
She would never give him her coat if she had known she had to pay him a lot of money to buy these clothes.
Next morning, Hayden was having breakfast. When Joseph took a shrimp dumpling to her, her phone began to ring.
"It's my phone." Hayden looked at the screen. It was Anna.
But she did not even get ready to work.
She answered the phone, "Hello?"
"Ms. Downey, have you gone out?" Anna sounded anxious.
"Not yet. What's wrong?" Hayden sat at the table and ate the dumpling, "What happened?"
"You may have to leave from the underground parking lot. Something goes wrong on the internet."
"What's the matter?" Anna was confused.
Anna sounded quite downhearted, "Somebody took a photo of all the clothes Léon sent you and put it on the internet. Now Léon's fans are quarrelling online."000000
