Samuel looked at Charles in surprise, then nodded in understanding. "Young man, you handle things with great determination. I used to worry that Noelle would suffer if she faced the Shaw family alone. But now, it seems my concerns were unnecessary!"

Charles smiled. "My marriage with Nelly involves certain benefits, but that was not my intention. As for the Hoffman family, Nelly can visit whenever she wishes. Plus, I have the means to resolve the issues you're worried about."

"That's very reassuring!"

While the two conversed happily inside, Noelle was outside, pacing anxiously. Every few minutes, she glanced toward the Elegant Pavilion, wondering what Charles and her grandfather were discussing. Knowing her grandfather's temper, she was worried that he would make things difficult for Charles.

Eli saw Noelle's anxious pacing and could not help but smile.

Noelle pouted and looked at Eli. "How can you laugh at me? Aren't you worried about what Grandpa and Charlie are talking about?"

"Ms. Noelle, are you worried Sir Shaw is giving Mr. Charles a hard time?" Eli chuckled, shaking his head. "Don't worry, Ms. Noelle. Sir Shaw is not unreasonable. From what I can see, he's quite satisfied with Mr. Charles."

"Really?" Noelle's eyes sparkled with hope. "Are you sure? Did Grandpa say anything to you?"

Eli was about to reply when the door

of the Elegant Pavilion opened. Charles stood in the doorway, his tall figure framed by the light with a smile playing on his lips. "If you

to know the outcome so badly, why

not come in and see for yourself?"

Noelle froze in embarrassment, then quickly walked over and took Charles' arm. "You finished talking with Grandpa?" she asked, looking up at him.

"What did Grandpa say? Did he scold you? It's my fault. The things I said earlier..."

"You silly girl, what could I possibly

Ret

scold Charlie for? From the way you talk, you make it sound like I'm an unreasonable old man," Samuel said, standing up with his cane and pretending to be angry as he glared at Noelle.

Noelle blushed and stuck out her tongue bashfully, feeling embarrassed. She held onto Charles' arm tightly, looking like a child caught misbehaving. "You're teasing me!"

"Haha!" Samuel could not help but

laugh heartily. "Look at your

husband. Does he look like someone

who's been scolded by me? I see that now that you're married, you immediately side with your husband

over your grandfather!"

"Grandpa, what are you saying?" Noelle stomped her foot in playful frustration. She looked up and met Charles' amused gaze, pouting. "Why are you laughing? It's all your fault!"

Charles watched Noelle's playful demeanor with softened eyes. He placed a hand over Noelle's, gently patting it. "Hungry? Let's go inside and eat!"
