The Deserted Rich Beauty (Nicole and eric)
Chapter 1944 Encountering Big Trouble

Mitchell gritted his teeth. "Do you still remember Angie, the daughter of Caleb the arms dealer from Southeast Asia?"

Nicole's face darkened.

This name triggered some memories that made her uncomfortable.

Mitchell did not hesitate and spoke frankly.

"After Angie went back, she took over her father's position. Today, she's the biggest arms dealer in Southeast Asia. Angie's brother is also known abroad as an expert in money laundering. To avenge his sister and father, he purposely set his eyes on Mr. Ferguson. Pulling Mr. Ferguson in is only the first step of his plan."

Mitchell's words carried an extremely heavy weight.

The more secrets he knew, the more he felt how difficult it was for Eric.

Mitchell sat in the position where Eric used to be, trembling with fear and treading on thin ice.

The closer he got to Eric's world, the more he pitied Eric.

The woman in front of him would not feel heartbroken for Eric or try to understand him.

At the mention of Eric's name, Nicole felt nothing for hatred and wariness.

The air was a little stagnant and cold.

Nicole's face was glum, and she was in disbelief.

"Why would Eric be so obedient?"

Mitchell looked at her with a complicated gaze.

"They captured Ingrid and Madam Quinn. Just when Mr. Ferguson managed to rescue them, Ingrid fell in love with Angie's elder brother and betrayed Mr. Ferguson's plan. Old Master Ferguson was shot to death, and Madam Quinn is still in their hands. Even though Mr. Ferguson isn't close to his family, they are still blood-related after all. He could not just leave them to fend for themselves."

As soon as Mitchell finished speaking, the entire office became completely silent.

Nicole subconsciously looked out the window.

The wind blew some dried leaves from the treetops, and it was very cold.

It looked like a storm was coming.

Mitchell sighed and gritted his teeth.

"There's one more thing. Angie said that she was pregnant with Mr. Ferguson's child, but after the child was born, the child's skin was very dark. Even so, Angie insisted that Mr. Ferguson is the father >a,: RNV wanted Mr. Ferguson to raise him. Mr. Ferguson was so angry that he didn't even do a paternity test. He almost strangled the child to death, but finally returned the child to her."

The corners of Nicole's mouth twitched. She did not know how to describe her current feeling.

She just thought that Eric was quite unlucky.

The child was not even biological.

Didn't Angie claim to like Eric?

Did liking someone mean that she should cheat?

Nicole was silent for a while before she looked at Mitchell.

"So, what does this have to do with the project? No matter how pathetic Eric is, he's still filthy rich and much better off than the average person. Is his plan to get Stanton Corporation into this mess?" Mitchell opened his mouth and hurriedly explained.

"No, there's nothing wrong with this project. It's just that Angie's brother has taken a fancy to it and wants to use it to launder money. That way, the project and technology will be ruined. Mr. Ferguson was one step ahead and bought the project under another name back then. He surpassed Ferguson Corporation and wanted to look for a platform that would not be threatened by foreign forces and have the capability to do the project well. Stanton Corporation is the best option."

Mitchell said pertinently.

Nicole was also a bit moved.

However, she did not agree because as soon as she accepted this project, Angie's brother might make a move on them.

Nicole still had to think if she wanted to go through all that trouble.

What kind of person was Eric? How could he be easily controlled?

Now, Eric had to use such a roundabout solution. Nicole was afraid that Angie's brother was not a simple opponent.

Was Angie's brother among the people on the boat that she saw on the beach that

day?

Nicole could not figure it out.
