Chapter 1947 Meeting an Acquaintance

After some time of not seeing Lumi, Nicole noticed that she looked much better.

It seemed that her and Samuel's divorce did not affect her too much.

lan said that he called a few friends, so Nicole was not surprised to see Lumi here.

Nicole was just curious when the two of them got so close to each other.

She went upstairs, dressed in a beige plaid dress that made her look more mature.

Nicole smiled. "Carter, your habit of disappearing for a few days and suddenly appearing every time also hasn't changed one bit!"

lan was happy to see her and went over to pull her into the room.

"I went to the Antarctic and saw the Southern Lights. If it wasn't for my grandpa threatening me to come home, I wouldn't have come back so soon."

Nicole smiled. Lumi followed behind them. The private room was already filled with people, and many of them had already started drinking. There were also some people singing on the side. It was very lively. Amidst the crowd, Nicole spotted a familiar figure - Julie.

Julie squeezed her way out. She smiled at Lumi, and then at Nicole. "What do you think of this place?"

She pointed to the top. "How do you feel about the whole 'Tycoon' theme?"

Nicole paused. She put down the bag she was holding and looked for an empty seat." Not bad. It's in a prime location. Not to mention the general flow of customers, even those big bosses who want to entertain clients will choose this place first."

Lumi's smile deepened. She was inexplicably pleased with Nicole's comment.

It was as if she had received some kind of recognition.

Julie said, "Well, this place is owned by Ms. Lumi Makinen. I didn't tell you beforehand, but I asked you a few times before. You said that if someone opened an upscale club here, they'll certainly make a fortune, remember?"

Nicole paused and suddenly remembered that Julie had casually asked her this question before.

Back then, Nicole casually replied.

She did not think that Julie was asking on behalf of Lumi.

Lumi smiled. "I really have to thank you, Nicole! If it wasn't for your words of encouragement that gave me confidence, I wouldn't have had the courage to open this restaurant here!"

"So, it's your idea. You could've asked me directly. Why did you get Julie to ask me on your behalf?"

"I was afraid of hearing your criticism, so I asked Julie to inquire for me. Fortunately, I didn't make the wrong decision!"

Lumi blinked and spoke with a sigh. "In a blink of an eye, I've become a boss, too! It's such a wonderful feeling!"

lan laughed as he walked over. He glanced at Lumi.

"Ms. Makinen, I heard that your divorce isn't going too well. Do you need help?"

Lumi looked at lan. "You can help?"

lan shrugged his shoulders. His eyes arched as he smiled. "If you marry me and cheat on Samuel too, won't the divorce go smoothly?" Nicole and Julie almost spat out their drink.

lan could really crack a joke without thinking about it.

Unexpectedly, Lumi laughed and seriously considered it. "You have a point. I can think about it!"

lan laughed and patted her shoulder.

"But it's very expensive to hire me to act. You'd better prepare the cash!"

Lumi glanced at him and did not back down. "What can't I afford anyway?"

The two of them went back and forth bickering.

Everyone was in high spirits since it was a rare occasion to get together.

At the end of the day, Grant asked Luca to pick Nicole and Julie up and send them home.

They did not know what happened after.

Nicole and Julie slept on the same bed, and a ringing phone woke them up.
