Chapter 1966 Take Them Back

Ingrid and Quinn sneaked out from Falcon's villa.

There were not many houses on that road.

In the dark, the two women were running as fast as they could along the road.

They did not know how long they had been running.

Suddenly, a car with blinding headlights appeared in front of them.

When they saw the people inside, Quinn's and Ingrid's expressions changed dramatically. A sense of despair came over them.

The person inside the car said with a cold voice, 'Take them back."

Clayton and Nicole got off the plane and saw Grant, who had been waiting there for a long time.

Nicole secretly breathed a sigh of relief when she did not see anyone else with Grant, which meant that Grant did not tell anyone about her situation.

Grant glanced at Nicole and did not scold her. Instead, he looked at Clayton and asked, "Is it resolved?"

Clayton nodded calmly.

"Someone deliberately set us up for the accident in SF Corporation, but it's easy to solve. It'll just take some time."

Grant nodded and did not ask more about it. They then got into the car.

"Lil N, Aida's at the back. You can sit with her."

Seeing that Grant's suggestion was not up for discussion, Nicole looked at Clayton with concern.

Nicole thought, "Will Grant take out his anger on Clayton...?'

Clayton smiled and nodded to reassure her.

He hugged Nicole's shoulders and led her to the car behind.

When Clayton opened the car door, he saw Aida sitting in the back seat, so he nodded gently and said with a warm voice, "Sister-in-law."

Aida smiled and nodded. She put her phone aside and turned off the screen.

"Lil N, come in. I made some dessert. Are you hungry?"

Aida took out a paper bag with no logo on the side. She made the desserts herself.

Nicole did not care if it was homemade. She just felt hungry.

After all, no one would be able to endure starving for a full day.

Nicole nodded. Clayton held Nicole's arm and helped her to get into the car. He gently fixed her messy skirt before he closed the door with a smile. When Clayton turned around, his smile subsided as he walked back to Grant's car.

Grant was finishing a phone call in the back seat.

"Mm, she's back. You can get our people to retreat now."

Clayton got in the car UNW: immediately understood the content of Grant's phone call.

"Big Brother, did you ask someone to replace Nicole?"

Grant put down his phone and said indifferently, "Brother-in-law, our family can't afford Nicole getting into another accident."

Clayton felt like his heart became as heavy as a boulder when Grant called him " brother-in-law".

He was speechless.

In Aida's car.

Although Nicole did not devour the food, she ate a lot more compared to her usual appetite.

Aida handed over a glass of water and said softly, "Eat slowly. Don't choke."

After Nicole took a sip of water, she finally felt that her strength was gradually coming back.

"Thanks, Aida. Why did you come here?"

Aida smiled. "When you were missing, your brother was so anxious that he didn't sleep all night. He also didn't dare to tell Dad and could only get our people in Liberty to search for you. When we finally got some news of your whereabouts, you came back. You're very lucky..."

Nicole paused.

She felt really guilty for always getting into trouble. Floyd already had surgery once because of her, so he would not be able to take it if something bad were to happen.

Nicole pursed her lips and lowered her eyes slightly.

There was silence in the car for a moment.

Aida laughed and comforted Nicole.

"We don't mean to blame you. You only went to Liberty because you were worried about Clayton, so we understand. After all, you can't possibly sit back and watch when Clayton is in trouble. Everyone has that one person they value the most who is more important than their own life. You're only impulsive because you were worried, so you don't need to apologize for it. Your brother understands that, too." Nicole blinked. She was really shocked.

She could not imagine that Grant would forgive her because Grant did not say a word since she got off the plane.

However, Grant had the right to be angry.

This time, Nicole was really lucky.

If she met another crazy person like Caleb again, she might not make it out alive.

"Aida, Dad and the rest don't know about this, right?"

Aida shook her head.

"They don't know. Dad was just a little worried when you didn't pick up Chatty's video call, so he called Grant. Fortunately, your brother brushed it off. If you took any longer, we don't know what we'd do... We're going to the mansion first so that Dad can feel at ease."

Nicole nodded and took a deep breath.

"Alright. I won't act impulsively in the future."

Aida smiled.

"Clayton is a good man who treats you well, but his business is so immense that we

can't even imagine it. South Africa's military base is just the tip of the iceberg, and we have no intention to scrutinize all of his businesses. Right now, you're living in a nice, warm bubble that's completely different from his world. We won't interfere as long as you're happy with him, but don't get too involved in his business, Lil N. This is what your brother asked me to relay to you."

The car was silent.

Nicole seemed to feel the calmness of the air.

This setback has been tough.

Nicole sensed that Clayton's power was not limited to just a few profitable projects.

Although there were no restrictions on the existence of military bases abroad, if one wanted to become the best and the most

enviable existence, one would more or less be involved in some complicated relationships.

It was indeed not something that the upright and genuine Stanton Corporation would get involved with.

However, could Nicole separate herself from this?

Nicole could not promise Aida that she would ignore Clayton's affairs in the future. She also could not stay away from him.

If Nicole wanted to steer clear of Clayton, she would not choose to marry him in the first place.

She loved him, so she would love everything about him, including the hidden dangers and sense of security he gave her. Even if there was a cliff in front of them, Nicole believed that Clayton would be able to pave another road ahead. Clayton was complex and adaptable, but he would only show his best side to Nicole.

Aida was silent for a while, then she smiled and did not continue talking.

It seemed that Giant had underestimated Nicole's love for Clayton.

Grant thought that Nicole would be more restrained when she fell in love again after getting hurt by Eric.

But in Aida's opinion, Nicole's current feelings for Clayton were even stronger than they were three years ago.

Nicole would not hesitate when it comes to Clayton.

After a while, they arrived at the Stanton Mansion.

Seeing the familiar surroundings almost made Nicole cry.

Mr. Anderson got someone to open the gate and watched them drive in with a smile on his face as always.

Grant got out of the car, walked over, and glanced at Nicole before he walked around the car to Aida's side. Nicole was speechless as she thought,' Ugh, lovebirds...'
