The Deserted Rich Beauty (Nicole and eric)
Chapter 1973 We're Talking About Shortcomings

Grant hung up the phone.

Another car drove up from a distance. It was the designated car of that barbecue restaurant.

Grant narrowed his eyes. Two young waiters got out of the car and walked over with a smile.

"The charcoal that Ms. Stanton ordered..."

Grant's eyes flickered, and he nodded.

The waiter asked him with a warm smile," Do you need our help to carry it up for you?"

Grant shook his head. "No need, just leave it here. By the way, are you the only ones who came to deliver things?"

The waiter nodded. "Yes. Ms. Stanton is our VIP customer, so our manager specially ordered us to deliver it as soon as possible. It's been exactly fifteen minutes since she placed the order." Grant pursed his lips in silence.

Fifteen minutes was indeed the fastest time from that restaurant's location to Nicole's place.

This meant that someone got the news faster than the restaurant.

Grant pondered and said, "Thank you."

The waiter smiled and left.

After Grant pondered for a while, he made another call.

"Mr. Jensen, there's something I have to inform you..."

Grant's call lasted for ten minutes.

During this time, his men had already disposed of the other box from earlier.

After Nicole's repeated urging, Grant carried the heavy box of charcoal upstairs.

There was laughter coming from the living room.

Clayton rolled up his sleeves, showing off his lean forearms, and was working hard among the crowd.

Yvette was bickering with Lance. Although they had not seen each other for a while, Yvette was still reluctant to give up halfway and come back to Atlanta.

Julie and lan were playing games with Chatty and Levi, and they got along pretty well.

Aida and Nicole were busy preparing the

ingredients. They whispered a few words from time to time, and Aida began to recommend something to Nicole.

Everything looked fine.

Grant took a deep breath and suppressed the heaviness in his heart.

He pretended to be relaxed as he walked in. Clayton then hurried over to take the box from Grant.

"Thanks, Big Brother. I wanted to go earlier, but Nicole sent you down when I wasn't paying attention."

Clayton smiled warmly, looking so h>b*:SIT >some and out of this world.

Grant nodded and let go of the box.

"I was on a call downstairs, so I came up late."

Grant explained to Aida, who was behind

him.

Aida smiled and urged Grant to wash his hands before eating.

Grant nodded and turned to leave.

The balcony was very big with an automatic glass roof and windows. The lighting, temperature, and airflow could be adjusted according to the amount of sunlight and humidity. Everyone sat at the outdoor table and chairs that had been set up a while ago and watched Clayton smoking some meat.

Nicole took a photo and sent it to Floyd.

She thought, 'Isn't BBQ more fun than fishing?'

However, she messaged Floyd. [Dad, how many fish did you catch today?]

The message did not get sent out after a long time.

Soon after, she got an automated reply. [ You've been blocked by the other party.]

Nicole was speechless and thought, 'Dad blocked me?!'

She called Mr. Anderson and asked him to prepare more food for Floyd.

Mr. Anderson said, "The Chairman didn't catch a single fish today, so he's in a bad mood. He said that he doesn't want dinner."

No wonder!

Nicole did not know if she should laugh or cry.

Gradually, Grant and Lance also joined Clayton at the barbecue grill. Nicole and Yvette did not want to get caught in the smoke, so they stayed far away from the grill. From time to time, Clayton would come to feed Nicole with a plate full of grilled lobster and lamb.

Unknowingly, Nicole ate a lot.

Yvette sat on the sofa and was a little puzzled when she saw Nicole devouring the food while hugging a pillow.

She sighed and said, "What has marriage brought you? Besides killing your fighting spirit, all there's left is calories..." Nicole paused and rolled her eyes at Yvette.

She usually controlled her diet, but this time, she forgot since she was happy and unknowingly ate a lot.

However, Nicole certainly would not admit defeat in front of Yvette.

"Don't be jealous! Your Mr. Sheldon doesn't even realize his mistake and has been eating by himself!"

Yvette looked over and saw Lance enjoying the food while grilling some meat.

Suddenly, Yvette rolled her eyes angrily.

All men were different.

Yvette pouted. Nicole smiled and looked at her.

"So, how does it feel to be in a longdistance relationship?"

Yvette snorted coldly. "Excellent, no one cares about me, and I couldn't ask for more freedom!"

Nicole saw through her woes but did not say anything.

Yvette looked at the men on the balcony and then at lan, who was playing with Chatty in the living room. She shook her head. "After having been married for so long, have you discovered any shortcomings in Clayton?" "Shortcomings?"

Nicole frowned and thought about it for a while.

"A lot."

Yvette's eyes lit up. "Tell me! Every time I look at Mr. Sloan, he just looks so proud and invincible that I think he might be a robot!" Nicole pursed his lips and listed them one by one.

"He's handsome, has a good figure, and has a high IQ. He's one of the best people I know. He's always so caring, gentle, and attentive, and he would always think ahead of me in things that I didn't think of. He never quarrels with me or loses his temper. Every time I'm in a bad mood and want to bicker with him, he'll just make me laugh before I can say anything. Also, he's a very successful businessman and he's rich..."

"Wait!"

Yvette looked at her strangely.

"Ms. Stanton, I'm asking about the shortcomings. Don't you know what shortcomings mean?!"

Nicole blinked. "I was about to get to the shortcomings after talking about his strengths."

"Just skip the strengths and get to the point."

Yvette was speechless after hearing this.

Nicole was silent for a while, then she looked up at Yvette.

"He always treats me like a child and spoils me with no limits!"

When Nicole said this, the corners of her mouth subconsciously curved up.

That was Clayton's shortcoming.

Due to that shortcoming, Nicole no longer had such strong self-motivation.

That was because Clayton always gave her a bank card and told her to take a day off.

It was such an irresistible deal that Nicole could not help but agree to it

Yvette glanced at her silently, looked away, and sighed.

"Forget it... Everyone's joys and sorrows are clearly different... You'll never understand what I went through. When I was fighting desperately in front, the man behind me just kept trying to make me fall. That's because if I do, I'll have to admit defeat obediently and return to being his secretary again..."

Yvette's words were filled with complaint and dissatisfaction.

However, Yvette also knew that Lance did this for her own good.

Yvette just did not appreciate this kind of goodwill. Why could he not support her to be independent?

Would Lance feel better and applaud if Yvette failed?

Nicole glanced at Yvette and thought of something.

"Yvette, you can tell Lance about this. Don't keep it bottled up in your heart. Otherwise, you'll accumulate too many resentments, and you both won't be able to solve them in the end."

Yvette pouted. "I don't know how to tell him."

Nicole wanted to say something, but Clayton came in with a plate of grilled mutton.

"Baby, taste some of this Australian mutton. Didn't you say that it's your favorite?"
