Grant and Aida were not worried and sat there without moving.

Levi walked over obediently and told them about his new friend.

"Mommy, he's a big brother and our new friend. He didn't get angry even when Chatty bumped into him..."

Grant listened casually while watching Clayton hold his daughter.

Just when they were about to leave prematurely, the principal interjected.

"Oh, that student always likes to be alone. He can't speak, and he's Mr. Eric Ferguson's son."

Grant's eyes narrowed slightly. His face instantly turned cold.

Aida frowned.

"Eric's son? Why is he here?"

Did Eric dump his newly recognized son at hoarding school?

The principal smiled.

"Yes, that child is introverted, obedient, and quite smart. It's just that Mr. Ferguson never showed up. All formalities were done by someone else. They followed the school's regulations and allowed the boy to go home once a week."

Nicole stood there and turned her head slightly.

She frowned.

The little boy who had been staring at her just now was Eric's and Angie's son?

No wonder Nicole felt that the boy looked so familiar. It turned out that the boy resembled Eric.

Clayton walked over calmly while coaxing Chatty.

"Grant, Aida, I'll bring Chatty home first to change her clothes."

Aida nodded quickly.

"Go ahead. Don't let her catch a cold."

Grant smiled and walked over to pull on Chatty's little hand.

"Do you wanna say goodbye to Uncle Grant?"

Chatty ignored Grant and retracted her hand. She put her arm around Clayton's neck and babbled as she wanted to go back to play in the water.

Grant and Clayton laughed. Grant then looked at Levi.

"Say goodbye to your aunt and uncle."

Levi was very obedient. "Goodbye, Auntie Nicole and Uncle Clayton."

Clayton nodded with a smile and responded gently.

"Goodbye, Leaf."

Nicole went over and kissed Levi's forehead.

"Goodbye, big baby..."

Levi was rendered speechless.

Clayton held Nicole's hand while he carried Chatty with his other hand and walked out without looking back.

Nicole did not even have time to appreciate the layout of the school.

When they got into the car, Chatty lost her spirits.

She did not underst>f!

Chatty reached out to hug her mom, but Clayton stopped her.

"Don't trouble Mommy. Your clothes are all wet. What if Mommy gets sick?"

Chatty pouted and covered her ears. Although she did not understand what Clayton was saying, she knew that it must not be good.

"Daddy..."

Chatty closed her eyes and nestled in Clayton's arms. After all, Chatty knew that acting like a spoiled child was always effective on her father.

Nicole laughed and suddenly clicked her tongue.

"Why isn't Angie here if her son is here?"

Clayton's eyes darkened. He played with Chatty as if nothing was wrong and casually replied, "Angie was forced to leave Mediania back then. If she comes back, it'll definitely attract the attention of the authorities."

"Right..."

Nicole thought that it made sense and nodded.

"But now that Tyler is arrested, will she want to take revenge? Should we get ready for that?"

Clayton turned to the side to look at her gently and comfortingly.

"I'll arrange it. Don't worry, she's not capable enough to take revenge on us."

Nicole was silent for a few seconds before she sighed.

"It's surprising that Angie became the final winner."

The corners of Clayton's mouth twitched.

Nicole still thought that Angie was a lucky, innocent lady.

Clayton did not want to explain too much so as not to make Nicole worry for no reason.

He squeezed Nicole's hand.

"It's only temporary."

If a woman like Angie was allowed to develop her strength, she would definitely become a big trouble for them in the future.

How could Clayton just sit back and allow Angie to grow to the point that she could go against him?

Clayton just did not want to act so fast at the moment.

That was because he felt that Eric would be more anxious than him.

Clayton stroked his eyebrow and patted Chatty's back.

"Why are you shivering? Is it cold?"

When Nicole got out of the car, Mr. Anderson greeted her and said with a smile, "Miss, the Lindstroms are here. They have been waiting in the living room for a while. The Chairman isn't home, and he said that you two will come back and deal with it."

Nicole clicked her tongue and frowned.

"My dad is really good at shirking responsibility, huh?"

She said as she went straight to the living room.

Undoubtedly, the Lindstroms were here because of Samuel.

Nicole just did not know if Samuel came back.

From the looks of it, there should be news about him.

Clayton followed Nicole, holding his precious daughter while coaxing her. He only stopped after Chatty was happy, then he kissed her little head.

"In the future, don't talk to other boys except for your cousin Levi, got it? You might get conned one day..."

Chatty happily spat out some bubbles and soiled Clayton's shirt, but Clayton was delighted.

As soon as Nicole entered, the Mr. and Mrs. Lindstrom stood up, and Samuel was sitting on the side.

Mr. and Mrs. Lindstrom were very excited to see her. The many gifts they brought were placed on the floor.

"Ms. Stanton, we came to disturb you today because we really couldn't wait to thank you and Mr. Sloan for your help. It's all thanks to Mr. Sloan that Samuel can come back safely..."

Mr. and Mrs. Lindstrom said excitedly with bright smiles on their faces.

Nicole smiled and stepped forward politely.

"Mr. and Mrs. Lindstrom, you're too polite. My father said that we'd help if we can.

Although it did take us a lot of effort, and we almost paid an irreparable price, it's fortunate that nothing terrible happened..." Mr. and Mrs. Lindstrom could not understand Nicole's words, but Samuel understood.

Samuel drifted at sea for a long time before he managed to return home. The lack of food and freshwater made him break down completely, but he knew that he deserved it.

After finally crossing the sea to come home, Samuel had to accompany his parents with a smiling face to thank the person who put him in that situation.

There were so many complex emotions and reluctance in Samuel's heart, but when he saw Clayton's cold appearance, those feelings disappeared in an instant. Samuel stood up and nodded at Clayton.

"Mr. Sloan."

Clayton carried his daughter upstairs without looking at the Lindstroms.

Mr. and Mrs. Lindstrom looked at each other.

They originally planned to take this opportunity to build a better relationship with the Stanton family so that they could get help from Clayton in the future.

However, they noticed Clayton's attitude. Why was there suddenly such a big difference compared to their previous two visits?

They were just glad to see that their son came back and did not notice that Samuel's face was thin and sunken when he first returned.

Nicole smiled. She knew that Clayton was acting like that because Samuel did not tell them about the tracker that Tyler implanted in his body. That incident put Nicole in danger.

Who would not take it to heart?

Nicole also felt revolted by it.

However, Samuel also did not know that his actions would bring such serious consequences.

Thus, it was not reasonable to blame it all on Samuel.

Nicole sorted out her emotions and said with a smile, "Do you want to stay for dinner?"

Mr. and Mrs. Lindstrom were dumbfounded, then quickly stood up and waved.

"No, thanks. Samuel just came back, so we still have a lot of things to do."

Nicole nodded and stood up.

"Goodbye then."
