Chapter 2028 Don't Need Your Help

Nicole's throat was still a little hoarse as she looked up at Clayton angrily.

Clayton chuckled and lowered his head to kiss her between the eyebrows.

"It's all my fault. But you need to understand how hard it is for me to see the most beautiful woman in the world every day. How can I control myself? I'm still a human after all." Nicole did not forgive him right away because of his sweet talk.

She snorted softly to express her dissatisfaction.

Clayton was sensible enough and carried her into the bathroom to help her wash up. This time, he was more well-behaved.

He chuckled lightly.

"Should I push off your afternoon tea with Julie? I can just say that you're not feeling well and fell asleep..."

Clayton was being thoughtful. After all, she was exhausted from their physical activity and should get some rest.

Nicole obviously misunderstood him and pushed him away. She slowly sat up without caring about the towel that fell off and hurriedly walked to the dressing room.

Nicole took out her vanity mirror to take a look. Her face flushed red with anger.

She did not know how to explain it.

Nicole was in such a hurry to leave that she did not check carefully.

It was all Clayton's fault!

Julie looked at Nicole with a smile.

"Are you going to give Chatty a younger sibling soon?"

Nicole rolled her eyes at Julie, took out her foundation expressionlessly, looked in the mirror, ;a%?WJS= applied the foundation on her neck to cover up the hickey. "Nonsense! We didn't plan to."

Julie raised her eyebrows.

"I'm looking forward to it!"

Nicole helplessly said, "So, where are we going for afternoon tea. Don't tell me that you're planning to serve me instant coffee in your office..."

Julie laughed and stood up.

"Let's go. There's a cover shoot going on right now with a hot newbie in showbiz. I'll bring you over to have a look!"

Nicole was speechless as she thought,' How kind of you ..'

She laughed and inexplicably said, "If Clayton replaces out, he's gonna settle the account with me."

Nicole said as she stood up.

Julie looked back at Nicole with a mysterious expression on her face.

"It's different this time. This person's background is really mysterious. Do you know how he made his debut?"

Nicole shook her head.

Julie's eyes widened, and the corners of her lips curled up.

"He got the last place in the singing and dancing competition, but when an investor tried to make a private deal with him, he beat up the investor and happened to be photographed. After that, he became popular!"

Nicole raised her eyebrows. "Who's so unlucky to be photographed when making this kind of private deal?"

Julie waved her hand. "That's not important. The key point is that this guy is different. He has a strange background and shoots to fame out of the blue. That's why I'm taking you there to check him out." Nicole laughed and suddenly understood something.

"You want to check him out yourself, huh?"

Julie clicked her tongue.

"I plan to sign him on. Although Joseph Valencia is popular right now, his popularity will soon fade. That newbie is different. He'll be even more popular than Joseph!"

Hearing Julie's words, Nicole was also very curious.

The two women went to the location of the photoshoot.

Her phone rang.

It was Clayton.

"Are you with Julie? What time are you done? I'll pick you up?"

It had only been less than an hour since Nicole left the house.

Nicole's face could not help but feel hot when she thought about what Clayton did to her earlier. She took a deep breath, calmed herself down, and threw away all the dirty thoughts in her mind.

Nicole turned off her phone because she did not want to be disturbed by him. "He's here!"

The editor-in-chief asked them to look down.

Nicole and Julie looked over.

The tall and thin man looked resilient and stubborn, without any flare or makeup.

Julie could not help but sigh in admiration.

However, Nicole stood up in surprise.

"Shane Libb?"

She would not be mistaken.

The person standing in the spotlight, surrounded by people downstairs, was Shane Libb, the same man who saved her in Erethea and returned to Mediania before she did.

Nicole had asked about Shane before.

However, Clayton told her not to worry and that he already arranged everything.

Nicole thought that Shane might be working for Clayton's company. She did not think that he would end up in the entertainment industry.

This was such a huge plot twist.

Nicole did not know what to say.

Julie looked at Nicole in surprise.

"You know him?"

Shane heard a familiar voice from below and looked up. He immediately came out of the crowd with a cold face, stood up straight, and bowed to Nicole respectfully. Nicole was dumbfounded and stood there awkwardly for a while.

Everyone looked up in surprise and saw Nicole Stanton.

"Shane, you know Ms. Stanton?"

"Is Ms. Stanton promoting Shane?"

"Ms. Stanton hasn't shown up in a long time. She hasn't changed at all!"

Nicole maintained a stiff smile and nodded at Shane. She casually gestured for him to go about his day and immediately turned around to sit back down.

She did not fully accept this fact yet, so she could only do this to leave the crowd's watchful gaze.

Nicole let out a deep breath.

Julie saw Nicole's expression and kicked her feet from below the table.

"What the hell is going on?"

Nicole frowned, not knowing how to explain.

After all, Nicole also did not know what was going on.

Thus, she made up an excuse.

"Oh, Shane used to be Clayton's colleague."
