The Deserted Rich Beauty (Nicole and eric)
Chapter 2045 I’m Admitting My Fault

Clayton helped Nicole to change into a pair of pajamas, carried her to the bed in the lounge, and covered her with a thin quilt.

The doctor did a checkup, breathed a sigh of relief, and looked at Clayton and Nicole meaningfully.

"Mr. Sloan, Ms. Stanton is a little hypoglycemic. She'll be fine. The main reason for her feeling like that is that she has been soaking for too long and um... She was a little too overworked, which caused an insufficient blood supply to the heart. So, it's advisable to take it easy..."

The doctor said it euphemistically, but both Clayton and Nicole understood.

Nicole just wished that she could hide under the quilt.

Clayton was very calm and casually glanced at Nicole. He thanked the doctor and sent him out the door.

Not long after, someone sent over a bottle of sports drink.

Clayton took it over and handed it to Nicole.

"Do you need me to feed you?"

Nicole blinked her twinkling eyes.

"Why didn't you explain to them earlier?

How embarrassing..."

Clayton sighed deeply. "What's there to explain? I feel aggrieved because I obviously didn't do anything but got blamed for no reason. You even scared me

Nicole pouted. "I'm the patient!"

He looked down at her with a deep smile and said, "I wouldn't let you go if you weren't a patient... Open your mouth..."

Nicole was instantly energized after taking a sip of the sports drink. She pushed him away fiercely, but the drink was already in her mouth, and it was too late to spit it out. Thus, she could only swallow it. She had an indescribable expression.

Clayton laughed. "It seems to be quite effective! Is one sip enough?"

Nicole knew that he did this intentionally, but she did not care because she felt like she wronged him.

She lay back down again without the slightest hint of drowsiness.

Clayton was still sitting there. He threw the bottle in the trash can.

Nicole blinked. "I wanna eat tangerines.

Clayton paused and could not understand her sudden craving.

However, he still took out his phone with a frown.

"The Australian tangerine that you eat most often?"

Nicole smiled. "Any regular ones will do. I just want to get rid of that sports drink flavor in my mouth."

Clayton laughed helplessly.

"Wait here. I'll go out :d#>TMU< have a look."

If he remembered correctly, there seemed to be tangerines in the lobby.

The manager hurriedly greeted Clayton when he saw him.

'Mr. Sloan, is Ms. Stanton okay? We're so sorry that this happened today..."

Clayton was a reasonable person. After all, this was their own fault.

"It's just low blood sugar. She just needs to lie down for a while. The hot spring is pretty good."

"I'm glad that you're satisfied with us. Why do you want to eat tangerines? These are for last-minute guests. Mr. Sloan, I have some imported fruits in my office. If you want. I'll have someone deliver it to your room?"

Clayton smiled and weighed the tangerine in his hand.

"It's okay. Don't bother."

"Then please contact me if you need anything else."

The manager was very quick-witted. Seeing that Clayton was not angry and did not take Nicole away, the manager knew that the little episode earlier was not a big deal.

Clayton entered the room, and the manager did not follow.

Nicole sat down with her phone. When she saw Clayton come in, she put her phone aside and smiled.

Clayton glanced at Nicole and sat beside her.

He slowly peeled the tangerine. The juices spewed out, and the fragrance of the tangerine instantly infused the air.

It was refreshing, succulent, sweet, and sour.

Clayton's fingers were clean and slender. After he peeled it open, the tangerine peel looked like a beautiful blooming flower with even petals.

He peeled off a slice and put it in front of Nicole's mouth.

"Here..."

Nicole paused, then lowered her head to bite into it.

The tangerine was slightly sour, but the taste was just right.

Nicole raised her eyes and swallowed the tangerine. When Clayton fed her another slice, she reached out to take it and put it to his mouth instead. Clayton was stunned.

Under Nicole's eager eyes, Clayton lowered his head, bit on the tangerine, and swallowed it. He smiled and looked relaxed.

"Why, didn't you want it?"

His voice was gentle, deep, and seductive.

Nicole smiled. "You won't be mad at me after you eat my tangerine, right? I know you've been brooding over what I said in the car all night, but I'm already admitting my fault, so don't worry about it. I just said that casually."

Clayton's eyes darkened. His expression changed, and he said meaningfully, "You're admitting your fault? I've been waiting on you all night, and you think that you can dismiss me with one sentence?" Although Nicole felt guilty, she had never lost in a quarrel.

She stretched out a finger and smiled.

"Don't worry too much about the details. All that matters is my attitude, right? Darling, please help me get my clothes. I wanna go home."

She stretched her back and continued to boss Clayton around.

Clayton smiled playfully, lowered his head, and stroked his brow bone. He could only resign to his fate and stand up to do as he was told. "Yes, milady..."

Although they could sleep in this private room, nothing could compare to their own home.

Nicole would not settle for mediocrity. No matter how late she was, she would want to go home and rest after enjoying herself outside.

They got home very late and realized that Chatty fell asleep in exasperation after waiting all night for them.

Yvette took an early morning flight and called her friends when she got off the plane.

Nicole was the first one Yvette called.

Nicole slept late last night and was still sleeping because she forgot about picking Yvette up from the airport.

Julie had pinned all her hopes on Nicole, so Julie did not go either.

Clayton went to the office early in the morning and did not let anyone wake Nicole up.

As a result, Nicole was awakened by her vibrating phone early in the morning.

When Nicole picked up the phone, she heard Yvette's displeased voice, "Ms. Stanton, did you forget to pick up your best friend from the airport today? How could you make me stand at the airport alone to wait for you?"

Nicole paused for a while and instantly woke up.

"Wait for me... Didn't Lance pick you up?"

Yvette coughed and cleared her throat.

"He's back at the headquarters for an emergency, but that's not the point! A husband and a best friend are different!"

Nicole laughed. "Okay. Wait there! I'll pick you up right now."

After Nicole finished speaking, she called Julie.

Julie was also startled.

Everyone was aware of Ms. Quimbey's temper.

Twenty minutes later, Nicole picked Julie up and headed to the airport.

In fact, it only took twenty minutes for Yvette to come back by herself, but she liked the ritual of having someone pick her up from the airport. Nicole and Julie arrived at the airport at 10:00 am.

They called Yvette only to replace out that Yvette was bored waiting for them, so she went to the basketball court near the airport to watch people play.

Nicole and Julie searched for a long time before they spotted Yvette's slender figure standing outside the basketball court, leaning on the railing, and smiling as she looked at the sweaty young hunks playing.

They thought Yvette would lose her temper, so they even found excuses to explain their tardiness.

As a result, Yvette only glanced at them lightly. She was slightly displeased when she saw that they were so well-dressed.

"You both look so bright and beautiful. I don't even have makeup on!"

Julie raised her eyebrows and quickly said, "That's because you're born beautiful!"

Nicole nodded repeatedly. "Yes, yes."

Yvette laughed.
