The Deserted Rich Beauty (Nicole and eric)
Chapter 2153 Expose Herself

Zeke had a glum expression as he pointed at Yvette in front of everyone in the conference room.

He did not hesitate to go against Yvette openly.

"For Lance's sake, I was going to show you some respect, but you went overboard. What right do you have to be here? Yvette, do you think that no one knows your secret?” Yvette's face turned pale.

Her eyes narrowed slightly, and her heart clenched. It made her panic for a moment.

Her secret?

The days Yvette went missing were her biggest secret.

However, no one except the police knew about the details of this.

Yvette did not even tell Nicole or Julie about it because the police told her to keep it to herself.

Naturally, she would not expose herself.

How could her secret be known?

Zeke looked at her gloomily with a vicious gaze.

He said, "Don't think we don't know that you've already found a lawyer trying to embezzle Lance's assets. I saw our company's lawyers going in and out of the hospital. Did you coerce Lance into giving you power?"

Yvette was slightly shocked.

She raised her head in disbelief.

Yvette never did that, but Zeke said he saw it.

It must be Lance...

Lance asked someone to contact his lawyer. He wanted to give everything he had to her while he was conscious.

Yvette remembered what he said that day, that the Sheldon family would only protect her if he gave her his power.

Lance really gave up everything for her.

Yvette was not aware of it.

Zeke looked at her angrily.

"You're too ambitious! Why should you get our family business?"

The person who spoke up for Yvette said, "Ms. Quimbey is Mr. Sheldon's wife, so why can't he give her his family business? Mr. Zeke, what are you thinking? Do you still think that men are superior to women in this day and age? It's justifiable for Ms. Quimbey to inherit all of Mr. Sheldon's assets as long as Mr. Sheldon's mother doesn't object to it."

"Bah! Why should a woman take over the Sheldon family business? If she doesn't fight for it and knows her place, the Sheldon family won't let her starve. Otherwise, we, as shareholders, will unite against this and take a stand!"

Zeke simply stood there with a fierce and domineering expression.

He thought Yvette was no match for him.

Yvette fled from Cali, which meant she was not capable enough to turn the situation around.

They would not listen to Yvette's orders.

Her failure was humiliating.

There was no sound in the conference room. The silence was suffocating.

Yvette looked at those who had colluded with Zeke and suddenly understood what was going on.

They had long thought about this moment and waited for Yvette to start this argument.

She quietly glanced at everyone present one by one.

She was extremely calm.

Lance must be very capable to be able to suppress this group of troublesome shareholders.

Yvette sat there with a still gaze. Then, she looked up at Zeke and said in a cold tone, "Shareholder? Lance is the biggest shareholder here, and I'm one of the shareholders as well. If necessary, I can ask a lawyer to verify whether I can call the shots here. I'm not approving those two projects, so don't think that you can use me to make dirty money."

She stood up afterward and left the meeting room without hesitation.

Yvette could hear Zeke swearing from behind, but she remained calm.

Zane quickly followed Yvette. He said in a tangled voice, "Ms. Quimbey, it's useless even if you object. Zeke and the shareholders agree to it, and he has real power in his hands. The chief financial officer is also on his side. We can only accept defeat when the company announces the acquisition."

Yvette pushed the door into her office and sighed.

"I know."

"But if you knew, why did you do that? Why don't you ask Mr. Sheldon's mother to come forward and persuade him?"

The only way Zane could think of was to compromise.

Now, Yvette had no strength to compete with Zeke.

Yvette shook her head and sat at the desk.

"No need. I already objected to it. If they want to do it, they can go ahead. I just expressed my stance on this."

Yvette did not have much hope that they would give up just because of a few words.

"I don't understand..."

Zane looked at her in embarrassment.

Yvette glanced out the window lightly, and said calmly, "Tell the finance department that from now on, any funds more than 10 million dollars must be transferred in batches. Just say it's the bank's new rule. As soon as Zeke goes ahead with the project and the first payment is paid out, call the police immediately."

Zane stood there in shock. "The police?"

Yvette pursed her lips. "Yes, get the police to intervene. Since they didn't get the order signed by the president, there's a problem with the payment. The police will then notify the bank to freeze the remaining funds. Won't that buy us time then?"

Zane was shocked. He looked at her with a bit of admiration and disbelief.

"Ms. Quimbey, you're a genius! We'll buy time this way and cause the least damage. Then our acquisition of the pharmaceutical company will probably fall through..."

Yvette chuckled lightly.

"When the time comes, spread the news that we will never cooperate with that company. Then, we can keep our company's image."

Zane's eyes lit up as he nodded repeatedly.

Since there was a solution to this, Yvette was no longer anxious.

No matter how capable Zeke was, he still had to go through procedures if he wanted to get money from the company.

Yvette left the meeting halfway through, so there was no need to even discuss the second proposal.

Zeke and the others only thought that Yvette had admitted defeat.

After the meeting, the shareholders left the conference room confidently.

Before long, Yvette received a call from Fiona.

"Did Zeke make things difficult for you? He called me more than a dozen times earlier, but I didn't answer. I know that he wants to temporarily take Lance's position. Did he do something in the company?" Fiona was straightforward.

Yvette kept silent and pursed her lips, so Fiona immediately understood.

"We should only consider the interests of the company when it comes to business, not family relations. Yvette, compared to him, I have more faith in you, so do whatever you want. I'm also one of the shareholders, and I fully support you."

Yvette was touched. She smiled and tried to keep her voice calm.

"I know, Mom. I won't let them mess around here. It's just that they might bother you again, so...'

Fiona sighed. "Don't worry. I don't want to see them. If they dare to bother me, I'll just kick them out!"

Yvette's heart settled.

Her family's unwavering support was one of the reasons why she could persevere.

She smiled and was about to say something when Zane knocked on the door and came in.

"Ms. Quimbey, this evening's business entertainment..."

Hearing this, Fiona thoughtfully hung up the phone.

Zane continued, "The partner that we've made an appointment with suddenly wanted to suspend cooperation with us and cancel this evening's meeting."
