The Deserted Rich Beauty (Nicole and eric)
Chapter 2518 It’s Almost Over

Cindy's face gradually became stiff.

"Selena!"

Selena smiled slowly. Her temples relaxed slightly.

"Do you dare to spread this recording? You're not afraid of hurting me. You're afraid of Eric and Nicole's retaliation, right?"

Cindy's expression suddenly changed.

She stared at Selena fiercely.

Selena was much smarter than she thought.

"What benefit can I get from helping you? Eric will kill me, and you're not the kind of person who will repay one's kindness. If that's the case, I would've run into a dead end. Ms. Yeager, you're right. I was married once, so I should be more sensible than others. A wise person doesn't fall in love. Since I'm with Eric, what's the point of catching feelings? It's best to just think about money. I have his credit card now. It'll be a waste if I don't spend it."

After Selena finished speaking, she let out a long sigh of relief and stood up.

She looked down at the pale Cindy and smiled.

"Ms. Yeager, let me teach you a way which may make him show mercy."

Cindy raised her eyes, which were filled with tears.

However, she still did not want to admit defeat.

Selena said, "Surrender. Use your freedom in exchange for Yeager Corporation's safety. I think he will be lenient. He's not a bad person."

Cindy was shocked. "Why should I..."

Before she finished speaking, she suddenly thought of something and looked at Selena in disbelief.

"You... He..."

If Selena knew, Eric must have known it too.

It turned out that Eric already knew that Cindy was involved in that car accident.

Cindy suddenly felt chills running down her back.

Her body trembled involuntarily.

Selena walked out without saying a word.

She stood at the door. The sun shone warmly on her body and wrapped her in a gentle embrace.

However, Selena lost the good mood she was in when she first went inside. She felt like she had just escaped from the ice cellar. She was so cold that even the scorching sun could not melt her frozen body.

On the opposite side was Ferguson Corporation. The high-rise building shot into the sky.

At this moment, the concrete forest that enveloped her made her feel suffocatingly cold.

Selena wanted to turn around and leave. She wanted to go back to her bar and the room that truly belonged to her.

She had no right to ask Eric why he said that, let alone ask if he liked her a little bit.

She would have no dignity if she did.

Thus, Selena could not do it.

Selena took a deep breath. The heavy burden on her chest could kill her.

Without hesitation, she turned around, took a taxi, and left.

In her current state, she could not and did not want to drive.

Back at the bar, it was probably time for lunch, so Chaz was eating boxed lunches with the workers.

Everyone wore hard hats as they talked and laughed while eating.

Chaz was not as clean-cut as usual. He was sitting down on the steps with an old newspaper under him while he devoured his lunch.

He did not raise his head until Selena came to him.

He grinned excitedly.

"Oh my god! Mr. Ferguson is really willing to spend money on you. He bought you a six-figure dress just like that! Boss, don't forget me when you're rich!" Selena could not help but chuckle.

"I should really give you a raise. You're a manager, but you have to sit here and eat lunch. How pitiful."

Chaz said excitedly, "Of course, you must give me a raise! I can't eat this lunch for nothing."

Selena sighed.

"I can't give you a raise... We have to tighten our belts and live with what we have. My wallet will be empty after the renovation is done."

"How come? Don't you have Mr. Ferguson? Did you quarrel with him?"

"No." Selena pursed her lips and had mixed feelings.

The loss and disappointment lingered in her heart and gradually festered into a kind of bitterness.

In the end, Selena had nothing but her bar.

Chaz wanted to ask her more questions, but the workers had already started construction.

Thus, he hurried over to take a look and looked back at Selena before he left.

"Wear a hard hat if you want to go in. Don't worry. I have remodeled your room perfectly!"

He winked and left her quite a surprise.

Selena laughed, sat in her original seat, looked at an unopened lunch box in the corner next to her, and took it over.

She got tired of eating too much good food. She should be eating ordinary things anyway.

Selena picked up the disposable fork and began to eat with gusto.

She did not care about her image at all.

Selena did not even care about whether the expensive dress she was wearing would get dirty.

What did it matter?

Eric had plenty of money.

The workers inside were stunned when they saw this scene at the door.

"What's wrong with your boss? She didn't eat?"

Chaz turned his head. His expression changed slightly, but he quickly came to his senses.

"Leave her alone. She's weird at times."

The workers laughed. They were used to Chaz complaining about his beautiful boss, but Chaz was also protective of her.

After a while, Chaz went out, sat beside her, and sighed.

"Did you guys really quarrel? Or did something happen? If you're really unhappy around Eric, then come back. We don't owe him anything, so you don't have to suffer!"

Selena glanced at him sideways. Her heart was soft and fuzzy.

"Shouldn't you ask me to endure it?"

"What for? It's not that you're desperate for a living. You're my boss. The most important thing is that you're happy."

Chaz looked at her and smiled. “I just hope that you can walk out of your last marriage. Eric happens to be the most suitable person as your rebound. I didn't say that you should compromise and sell your body to him."

Selena lowered her head and finished the lunch box. She put the lunch box aside and sighed.

"It's not really a compromise. I just feel that I need to be more sober."

After she finished speaking, the phone rang. Seeing that it was Eric's number, Selena picked it up in front of Chaz and said with a lazy voice, "What?"

Eric was silent for a few seconds and felt a little helpless.

"Can you be more civilized?"

"I didn't say sh*t..."

Selena rolled her eyes and retorted without any scruples.

Eric chuckled lightly on the phone. He was very tolerant toward her. To others, it sounded like he was doting on her.

"I heard from the servant that you went out without eating. Do you want to come over? I'll buy you lunch."

Selena calmly refused.

"No need. I just finished eating."

"Just finished eating? Who did you eat with?"

Selena looked at the people on the side. "More than a dozen handsome guys."

Eric was silent for a few seconds. He immediately noticed a loophole in her words and laughed in a hoarse voice.

"You went to the bar? There's a reception tonight. Do you want to accompany me?"

This was the first time Eric invited her to his circle.

Selena held the phone and paused. Chaz, who was next to her, did not get to persuade her and was forced to hear their conversation instead. At this moment, Chaz did not want to listen anymore, so he left.

She smiled. "We'll see if I have the time."
