The Deserted Rich Beauty (Nicole and eric)
Chapter 2557 Last Minute Substitution

Selena's coquettish words eased Eric's dissatisfaction slightly.

The car drove to the set.

When Selena got out of the car, no one cared about her. Only Harvey's assistant came to pick her up.

When Eric got out of the car, Mr. Griffin came running over in person.

Selena got out of the passenger seat. At first glance, she looked like she had nothing to do with Eric.

They maintained a good distance, so no one would speculate about them.

Eric was taken to other places by Mr. Griffin.

Selena also went to the filming location with Harvey's assistant.

There was obviously something wrong with the assistant's expression.

He hesitated to speak.

"Ms. Nelson, Harvey is putting on makeup inside. Why don't you go in later to say hello?"

Selena nodded. "Sure, thanks. What about Mr. Griffin..."

"Mr. Griffin doesn't need to see some of the clips. Other directors are also around."

The assistant pursed his lips as if he had something to say, but he did not know how to say it.

Selena saw it and smiled.

"I'll go over to say hello to Harvey. You can go ahead."

"Okay. He's in the innermost dressing room."

The assistant nodded and left.

Selena paused for a moment. Then she raised a smile and went to look for Harvey.

After all, she was about to meet her idol. How could she not be excited?

Selena hummed and walked forward.

The door was ajar, and Selena could hear Lara's voice.

"Harvey, this is the first time I've asked you for such a thing. I'm really sorry. My younger sister just graduated from the Film Academy and needs an internship this year. Our cast couldn't be more suitable. I don't want to touch the other characters either. I've been there too, and I know the feeling of being robbed. Only this cameo role is insignificant, so I want my sister to try it."

Selena suddenly stopped in her tracks.

Harvey's gentle voice sounded.

"Sorry, this role has already been given to Selena. Weren't you aware? The director has already agreed that Selena will come over today, so I don't think it's appropriate to give her role to someone else. Why don't you wait for the next opportunity?"

Lara smiled and said calmly, "I know, but Selena is just an outsider. Her acting skills won't be as good as my sister's professional skills. What's more, my sister will be in the entertainment circle sooner or later. She's also your fan, and she's already waiting outside, saying that she wants to say hello to you. You can't favor one fan over another. I know this must be awkward for you. I have already told Mr. Griffin in advance. He said that you introduced Selena, so if I want to get my sister into this role, I'll have to ask you. This is what I think. I have a character in my next film that doesn't have a very important role, but she'll have a dozen scenes, and it's much better than this cameo. To make it up to Selena, I can recommend her for my next film. This way, she won't be losing out."

Harvey frowned. His face was solemn.

He was unwilling to swap, but how could he refuse Lara?

Lara even brought her own sister here. It showed that she had already made up her mind to replace Selena.

Lara was determined to get this role and smiled meaningfully.

Selena stood outside and took a deep breath.

She was speechless about Lara.

She did not know how she had offended Lara that Lara wanted to target her like this.

Now, Lara even wanted to take this cameo role away from her.

Although Selena did not care much about this role, Harvey recommended her for this role.

She came here for her idol, so who gave Lara the right to snatch it away?

Selena gritted her teeth and pushed the door open.

She stood at the door with her arms folded and looked at Lara lightly.

Right now, there was no need to conceal Lara's ill intentions.

Selena said bluntly, "Lara, I came here for Harvey, not for you. If I lose this opportunity to act in your film, it will be a big loss for me, so I don't agree with it."

Lara was slightly taken aback. She was neither angry nor embarrassed.

She smiled slightly, looked at Selena, brushed her hair, and said calmly.

"Ms. Nelson, you've misunderstood. Since you overheard our conversation, I won't hide it from you. I didn't want to take away your opportunity to be a guest star. Didn't you say before that you don't plan to join the entertainment circle? To you, this is just optional. But my sister has been looking forward to this opportunity for a long time. She will start filming after her graduation this summer, so she just wanted to replace an opportunity to practice first. I think you should understand, right?"

Selena began to admire Lara's thick skin.

Lara could still say these words in front of her without changing her expression. She could also maintain her gentle, intellectual, and independent woman persona.

However, her behavior was just another form of workplace bullying.

What was the difference between this and having old employees in the company pull their relatives in while bullying interns?

Lara even said it so righteously.

Selena twitched the corners of her mouth. She glanced at Harvey, who was embarrassed and solemn.

She believed that Harvey was unwilling to replace Selena, but Harvey and Lara would have to spend several months filming together on the set, so if they offended each other, it would not be good for everyone.

Naturally, Selena would not make life difficult for Harvey.

She would piss Lara off by herself.

"I understand."

Selena smiled.

"But I don't accept it. Lara, you've probably used to hurting others for your benefit, huh? I'm not interested in being in the entertainment circle, but I also know what first come first serve means. I also know what respect is. You want to bully a little nobody like me just because of your status in the entertainment circle. Why don't you think about it carefully? Since I'm not in the entertainment circle, I'm not afraid of offending you!"

Selena smiled recklessly and brightly. Her eyes were lively but with a hint of coldness.

Lara felt a little suffocated. The smile on her face froze.

She took a step forward and smiled politely.

"Ms. Nelson, I'm not discussing this with you, and I'm not asking for your opinion. You don't have the final say on this set. I'm only telling Harvey as a show of respect to him, not to you. In fact, this is a simple matter, and the director has agreed to it. Ms. Nelson, you can leave now."

After Lara finished speaking, she curled her lips into a sneer. Then, she turned sideways and walked away from Selena.

Harvey's eyes drooped slightly. His pupils constricted a little.

He took a deep breath and stood up immediately.

"Don't worry, Selena. I won't let anyone take this opportunity away from you. That's because you're the most suitable person for this role. I'll go replace the director right away."

Selena stopped him with a smile on her face.

"Harvey, there's no need for this. The role is indeed irrelevant, but if the director agreed to it, there's no need to argue. You and Lara still have to work together on set, so you shouldn't get into a fight with her."

It was not worth the trouble for a cameo role.
