Brad pov

They follow directions and the compound comes into his line of sight. Brad was shocked at his first look of it. He hasn’t seen anything like this outside the werewolf council facility. The amount of security was insane, he did a quick scan and counted six cameras monitoring the outside. Brad decided it was best to finally brief the men on the mission.

“Okay men, our jobs is to extract people who are being held against their will and being used as test subjects.”

“But-“

“I know.” Brad interjected, “this is a council facility. It’s time to wake up boys, the werewolf council is as corrupt as they come, that’s why you all are brand new recruits. Alpha Brooks hand picked you all, she thought you would still would have enough morals to do the right thing when you see what’s in that building.” Brad pointed to the quickly approaching compound.

“What’s in there?” The driver asked and Brad waved him off.

“Stay calm.”

The SUV pulled up to the gate, Brad made sure to keep his heartbeat steady. The other men in the SUV has no problems as they were too confused to panic.

“Who are you?” The guard at the gate barked out glaring inside the SUV. Brad leaned over to look at him.

“We are here on Elder Brooks orders to do an inspection of these facilities.” The guard looked at him suspiciously.

“Papers!” Brad nodded and handed the guard said papers. The guard seemed to be reading them over thoroughly and it seemed to be an eternity of waiting.

“Is it working?” Killian asked in the mindlink. Brad let out a smile knowing that they were able to get a good vantage point.

“I don’t know,” Brad responded still on pins and needles himself. Finally it seemed to past some test as the guard nodded to himself and opened the gate.

“Hey! The papers!” Brad shouted out and the guard came over to return them.

“Sorry!” Brad just smile taking the important papers that would get them through the front door of the compound with a smile on his face.

The SUV drove down the asphalt road and went to a small parking lot that was filled with cars.

“What’s in there?” The driver asked again.

“What’s your name again?” Brad asked.

“Dustin.”

“Look Dustin, I don’t know what is going to be in there, but I guarantee you paranormals of all varieties will be in cages just begging to come out. It will be our job to get them out before they kill them.”

“Kill them?” One of the men in the back asks and Brad nods.

“Yes my last mission was to take out an auction and they are getting nervous. The council is shutting down the lab before they get discovered.”

Brad quickly exited the vehicle as he saw the guards looking in their direction. He confidently walked to the doors in attempt to walk through, but he was stopped.

“Papers,” the guard on the left demanded. Brad quickly handed them over and after a quick scan the guard nodded his head and the doors were opened. The opened doors revealed a security station, Brad and his men walked through the doors which were then shut behind them. Brad quickly did a survey of the room, only about ten guards. The room itself was blocked off, it was their eyes and ears. Brad needed to secure this room first, and hold it.

“What are you doing here?” The guard asked.

“No I’m not talking to you, I need to speak to some one in charge.”

“You don’t have the authority for that,” the guard sneered. Brad laughed,

“We both know that I do.” The guard looked royally pissed off, but called into his comm,

“Tell Reyna we need her down here.”

“Why is that?” A different voice called back.

“Council orders.”

“I’ll be there in a minute,” the voice responded. Once the confirmation of some one in charge was coming Brad gave out the order.

“Now!” Brad pulled out his knife and shoved it into the windpipe of the man in front of him, he fell in a heap dead. Brad turned to see another shifter coming for him and he whipped out another knife and threw it in his eye. The man screamed, Brad immediately silenced his screamed by slitting his throat. Then he looked around for any threat and saw they were all eliminated.

“Good job men, Dustin move the bodies.”

“Yes sir!”

“Whose most tech savvy?” Brad asked.

“Me sir!” One of the men answered. “I’m Brian sir.”

“Okay Brian, this is your station now. Your my eyes and ears.” Brian simply nodded and sat down at the controls.

“Sir it looks like some one is headed our way.” Brad looked around at the b***d and dead bodies Dustin and another man were trying to move.

“s**t!” Brad quickly got out of the room and went to meet said person before we were caught. Brad literally bumped into a small woman and almost caused her to fall over.

“Oh I’m sorry, I’m Brad,” Brad introduced himself and stick his hand out. The woman gave him a dirty look but shook his hand.

“I’m sorry I’m on my way to meet some one from the council.” She tried to sidestep him, but he moved in front of her.

“Yeah that’s me, I’m Brad,” Brad handed her his papers. The woman’s eyes widened in disbelief,

“Your Brad?” Brad was conf itshrugged his shoulders. “Oh you’re sort of a legend and I’ve always wanted to meet you.” Brad could smell this woman’s arousal and he was getting more uncomfortable by the second. In fact his wolf was starting to growl in the back of his head, and whining for his mate.

“Well it’s nice to meet you, I’m here cause Alpha Brooks wanted me to see your experiments.”

“I don’t like this,” his wolf told him. Brad didn’t like it either, but the good news is he would probably get to kill the woman. That thought settled down his wolf. While he was talking to his wolf the woman was completely fan girling over his comment and talking about what she has done. She grabbed him by the arm and they started walking down a long hall. She used a badge on a industrial grade bio lock, Brad knew immediately he would have to swipe hers.

“This is where we keep the subjects.”

“Who are you testing on? What species?” Brad asked with no emotions in his voice.

“All of them; wolf, bear, vampire, human, witches rogues, we even found a dragon.” Brad nodded like it was interesting and they finally made it to where the people were being held. What he found made him almost loose his cool. Children, they were all children. The oldest shifter couldn’t be twelve years old.

“Children?” Brad asked in the best neutral voice he could muster. The woman simply nodded,

“After many failed experiments with adults we found that kids take the serum better than adults.”

“Naturally, how was it an discovered.” The woman looked at him with a smirk,

“That’s a different story, for a different day.” Brad smiled back at the woman and could see the children were looking at him fearfully. Brad knew he was going to regret this, as it wasn’t the plan but he had to do something. When the woman turned around, he grabbed a heavy tablet that they most likely used to chart the results of their sick experiments and hit the doctor in the head. She fell in a heap on the ground, Brad wanted to kill her, but he couldn’t do that.

Braxton pov

Denali’s lead on the rogue turned out to be a wolfsbane den. It was essentially like the old school opium dens back in the 1800’s but with wolfsbane mixed in so the wolf’s could get high. Shocker it was extremely dangerous, even to bearshifters. Denali handed him and Alana thick masks to keep them safe from the d**g. Braxton was amazed by the things shifters would do to get themselves high.

Brax walked into the den ignoring the guard standing at front, who was wearing a similar mask.

“Hey man you just can’t go in there!” Brax simply let out a growl along with his alpha aura and the wolf shrank back in fear. They entered the den and it was a simple giant open room with people laying on the ground.

“Spread out,” Braxton barked out. The three of them combed through the den looking for the rogue who frequented the area.

“Hey, I think I found him,” Alana called out. Denali and he ran over to where Alana stood and looked at the rogue. Braxton took one look at the rogue and realized that it was the one who almost beat him to death that night.

“That’s him,” Braxton confirmed. Denali bent down and picked him hefting him over his shoulder. They waltz out of there as everyone was high as a kite and didn’t care what was happening around them. Denali tossed the bastard in the backseat of the rental SUV and they drove back to Penelope’s apartment.

Braxton was a bundle of nerves as the man was still high for several hours later, even when Penelope got back from classes. She didn’t flinch when she smelt the rogue on the floor and he loved her for that.

“What’s going on?” She simply asked and he gave her a quick run down of everything that occurred.

“Well I hate to tell you babe, but he’s going to be passed out for awhile, it’s just what opium does.”

“Is there anything you can do?” He asked her and she shook her head.

“Not me personally, but if one of you can replace either Naloxone or Narcan it stops overdoses. It counteracts the d**g in the body.” He looked to his brother and before he could ask,

“We are on it.” His brother and mate left quickly. Braxton went to his mate and gave her a quick hard k**s.

“What would I do without you?” Penelope smiled,

“Crash and burn.” Braxton laughed and he took her to the bedroom where he quickly tossed off their clothes and was inside her before he tossed her on the bed.

They were enjoying the aftermath when Braxton heard Denali come crashing up the stairs.

“s**t!” Penelope whispered and started to quickly get dressed.

“I got it! Where are you?” Denali hollered out.

“Coming!” Braxton shouted out through the door.

“Clearly,” Alana chuckled and Penelope turned red. They quickly dressed and came out of the bedroom.

“Please like we didn’t hear you two going at it last night,” Penelope said to them as she grabbed the d**g and needle. Denali blushed but asked,

“How much are you going to give him?” Penelope debated her answer,

“Well since he’s a wolf, I’ll start with giving him a human that’s OD’ing dosage. Then we will go from there if he doesn’t wake up in thirty minutes.” Penelope did a quick check up on the man, then shot him with the d**g. It had been twenty minutes and the man finally started moving around. When he opened his eyes and scanned the room landing on him.

“Hey aren’t you dead?” Braxton smiled, it seemed like his addiction was new, which generally meant a guilt conscious. He could work with that.
