“What do you mean she’s been taken?” Penelope screamed at Killian.

“Show me your phone,” Killian said ignoring her out burst and, he was in pure alpha mode now. He grabbed her phone out of her hands, and Penelope didn’t argue.

“Seth, Leo see if you can get her or any rogue trail within a mile of here,” Killian said. Seth nodded but looked grim,

“I’ll do what I can, but I’m not the best tracker.”

“I’m mind linking Owen and Holden.”

Killian quickly called Nathan, he was the only person outside of this room, and the pack that had any meaning to Liliana. Nathan confirmed that he hadn’t seen her and so Killian quickly hung up.

“What about Callum?”

“He’s with my dad and Jackson. I had him moved to the safe room as soon as I found out.” Penelope was a little relieved hearing that. The pack had a safe room for the children and elder to hide in during rogue attacks. Penelope was going to ask another question when Seth and Leo came came back.

“Anything?”

“We were able to follow her scent to a quickie mart about a mile away. We also found her car, we got a faint trace of rogue smell, but after that it’s gone. They must of used masking spray.” Seth reported.

“F*ck!” Killian screamed.

“It’s ok Killian, we will replace her. Svetlana, Natasha. What about magic? Can we use any locator magic?” Svetlana looked a little nervous,

“Well it’s not exactly my forte.”

“But it is my dads, and mine.”

“Well?” Killian asked expectantly. Svetlana looked at her daughter,

“She needs something of Lili’s, but we need to be careful. These locator spells can tread into dangerous territory.”

“What do you mean?” She asked.

“Well the earth helps us, but if you ask too much, you cross into dark magics.”

“I don’t care!” Killian shouted.

“Killian! Stop! You think I am not feeling the same way? But Natasha and Svetlana are our family, if Nat uses dark magic to replace her Lili would never forgive herself.” Killian took a deep breath.

“Your right I’m sorry, here I’m going to go where they took her to see if I can replace anything my guys missed. See what you can replace out.” Before Killian left he handed her a necklace. Penelope looked at it, Lili used to love this necklace and always wondered what happened to it. It was a tiny four leave clover that was pressed in a mold and against a locket. Lili used to complain about how she lost it from time to time. All this time Killian had it, that man really did love her.

“Here Nat see what you can do, Svetlana is there any chance Nat’s father would help us?”

“He’s going to whether he likes it or not,” Svetlana said with determination. Svetlana walked out, assumingely to make a phone call. Penelope looked a Nat. Nat’s hands encircled the necklace, when she opened her eyes they flowed pink. The glow quickly faded out,

“Did you replace her?”

“No I’m being blocked.”

“By what?”

“A powerful witch.” They suddenly heard Svetlana screaming.

“I don’t care Julia I need to speak with him it’s important.” Nat rolled her eyes and quickly crossed the room. She took the phone from her mother,

“Julia you have one minute to put my father on the phone or he will hear about what you did to me last weekend.”

“What happened last weekend?” Her mother asked.

“Not now mom.” Penelope wanted to know too.

“Dad, I need you it’s really important, you know my friend well she’s been taken by rogues.” There was a pause, and then she gave him the address for the location of her apartment.

Noah’s POV

Noah stood with the other doctor’s saying goodbye to his family. However, the one person he truly wished to see was not there.

“What is it Noah? Who are you looking for?” Nothing got by his mother. Noah hadn’t told his mother that he had found his mate yet, with good reason.

“Her name is Penelope.” His mother rolled her eyes,

“You need to stop with all of these women Noah Logan, you need to replace your mate.”

“She is my mate mother!” s**t, he shouldn’t have said that. His family didn’t know about Penelope, and for good reason.

“Then why are you leaving? What is going on Noah?” Noah let out a sigh and sat down on the closest chair he could replace.

“You were right mom. I shouldn’t have slept around like I did, and it caught up to me. I made a lot of mistakes regarding my mate, but I’m trying to do the right thing.”

“Son how is leaving the right thing?” His dad asked.

“She rejected me,” his mother was pissed on his behalf.

“This she-wolf rejected my baby boy?” His wolf growled.

“Penelope is perfect mother! It was me! My fault! I ruined everything!” To his embarrassment he started crying. He tried to wipe away his tears, but they kept falling. “We first met in a compromising position, and she tried to give me a chance but I pushed it too fast and I cheated on her.”

“Noah Logan!” His father was pissed, his mom was too shocked to say anything. Noah started laughing through his tears,

“But my perfect little mate, she gave it right back to me the next night by returning the favor.” Noah took a breath, “I realized she can’t be rushed, and this is something I’ve always wanted to do since uncle Charles told us stories. I thought it was a good solution.” Noah shook his head, “maybe I’m just a naive idiot.”

“No son, I don’t think you are a naive idiot.” His mom said and took his hand.

“However, we are very disappointed in you, we didn’t raise you to treat your mate this way. Why don’t you give her a call,” his father told him. Noah nodded, and ran his hand over his face trying to get the tears off. Noah stood up and walked away from his parents and dialed Penelope’s number.

“Hello?” A man answered.

“Who the hell is this?” He asked instantly angry.

“This is alpha Killian, who the hell is this?” Killian? The alpha of the b***d howlers pack? Why was he answering Penelope’s phone?

“Looking for Penelope.”

“Oh sorry, I just grabbed it automatically. Penelope, phone.” Noah heard the phone getting shuffled around.

“Hello?” Penelope answered.

“Why is alpha Killian answering your phone?”

“Sorry with everything going on he just picked it up.”

“What’s going on?” He asked concerned.

“It’s seems like Lili’s been taken by rogues.”

“Rogues, oh goddess.” Noah didn’t know what to say.

“And I just realized that you are leaving today.” Noah let out a breath,

“Well for an excuse, you have a good one.”

“I’m sorry Noah, I wanted to be there.”

“I know, I think we are boarding soon, can you keep me updated. I know how close you are. Lili did a lot for me.” Penelope laughed, he loved hearing her laugh.

“You should have heard her last night. She got so mad at you.”

“Oh ya? Why is that?” He asked curious.

“Well she had thought she was helping you out only for you to leave me. She was ready to replace you and punch you.” Noah laughed at that,

“I would have let her. What did you tell her?”

“That you were doing what you thought was best for me and our mate bond…” there was nothing but silence on the line for awhile then he heard Penelope start to cry.

“Goddess Noah I don’t know what I will do if I loss her, she’s the only family I have.”

“That’s not true Penelope, you have me. You will always have me. Now I know I don’t know your sister all that well, but from what I can tell she loves her son very much.”

“Yes she does,” Penelope started to calm down,

“And a mom will do anything to get back to her child.”

“You are right,” Penelope said calming down. Noah talked to Penelope for about an hour, until his mom came up to him and let him know his plane was boarding.

“I’m sorry Penelope but my plane is boarding.”

“I’m sorry I couldn’t say goodbye to you in person babe.”

“Me too.” He thought but he couldn’t say that to her right now.

“It’s okay Pen, this is enough. You are everything Penelope. I love you.” There was a pause at the end of the phone,

“I will miss you Noah.” That was something, and he would take it.

“See you soon Penelope.” He hung up and look to his parents,

“I guess her sister was taken by rogues.” His mother and father both look horrified.

“Well as for an excuse goes that’s definitely a good one,” his mother said trying to lighten the moment. Noah laughed and gave his parents both a long hug.

“Be safe son,” his father said while his mother told him she loved him.

“I love you both, I’ll see you in eighteen months.”
