The Failed Rejection
Chapter 74

Seth pov

He returned to his the pack after the attack with three sirens. Seth received odd stares, but being Beta he was able to get away with a lot. Though he never put his authority to the test before.

Seth got the three women settled in the beta floor and they spent the first several days sleeping as they were drained by using their siren song against on such a large force of men. It was the third day that his late, Alora finally started to rouse. It was also the day that he got the call from Killian that he would be returning to the pack.

Seth was nervous about his Aloha returning and replaceing three siren’s on the beta floor so close to his children. Killian was normally pretty reasonable, but he was under a lot of stress with taking down the council, additional people in the pack, which meant his kids were more vulnerable. Especially since all three of them were away from the pack.

“Our mate,” his wolf claimed like that would fix everything. Seth felt Alora stirring in the room next to his and immediately went to her. He didn’t feel it was appropriate to put her in his room while she was asleep. Seth approached the door and knocked on it softly then slowly opened it. He was once again blown away by his mate’s beauty as she struggled to sit up on the bed. Seth rushed over and helped her by supporting her shoulders. Seth was amazed to feel the sparks crackling though his fingers where he touched her.

“Mate,” his wolf purred.

“Can I get you anything?” He asked Alora.

“Water,” she rasped out as he propped up some pillows under her. Seth quickly went to his kitchen and got her a bottle of water out of the fridge. When he came back into the room she was looking around. He handed her the bottle,

“I put you in the room next to mine.” Alora opened the bottle and nodded her head looking a little disappointed.

“I didn’t want to make you uncomfortable.” Seth explained and she seemed to accept this answer.

“Where is my aunt and cousin?” Alora asked him curious.

“They both have their own room right next to you, you are the first to have waken up,” Seth replied. Alora nodded and they sat in silence for a few moments.

“Why did you come after me? Help me?” Seth asked the question that had been bothering him for a week. His gorgeous mate smiled.

“Cause I knew you would need my help, and I was right wasn’t I?” She asked with a small laugh. Seth smiled and let out a nod,

“It seems like you were.”

“Seth!” Killian’s voice came screaming in his ear. He was so furious that his wolf circled in a ball in his mind. He was in deep s**t.

“Yes Alpha!”

“Why are there three sirens so close to my children without prior authorization?” Killian asked and Seth could feel that Killian was close. Seth quickly got up,

“Stay here.” Seth got out of the room just as Killian and Liliana rushed in. Lili was trying to calm him down which was surprising as his Luna was more careful than Killian about the kids safety.

“Killian let me talk,” Lili stated and then looked at Seth.

“I want to meet uncle Seth’s mate!!” Callum said and came running in. Killian intercepted him and lifted him up.

“Seth, I hear you found your mate,” Lili said with a smile and he could barely respond as he was bewildered by the situation. He simply nodded. “I know Killian and Brad are worried because they are sirens so I thought this would be a good way to cut through the issues,” Lili looked to her mate and son. “Callum can you tell if anyone has bad intentions towards the pack?” Seth held his breath, his mate bond in the hands of an eight year old.

“Yes, there is one here that has bad intentions towards me,” Callum said after his eyes glowed white.

“Can you tell us who?” Lili asked and Callum pushed himself out of his fathers arms and walked down the hallway. Seth let out a breath when Callum passed his mate’s room, and he pointed to a room.

“Come along Callum, dad and uncle Seth will take care of the rest. Seth we will be happy to meet your mate and her family whenever they are feeling better,” Lili stated as they walked out of his floors. Seth opened the door Callum indicated and saw it was the aunt. Killian quickly injected her with something and then lifted her out of the room.

“What are you doing with her?” Seth asked. Killian gave him a look that told him not to mess with him.

Seth went back to his mate’s room to try and explain.

“So the rumors are true?” Alora asked with no anger on her face and Seth was shocked by her lack of anger.

“What rumors?” He asked confused.

“The next werewolf king has been born,” Alora stated and Seth sighed.

“It’s not my place to say, you will have a meeting with my Alpha and Luna. They will decide what to tell you.” Seth paused, “you don’t seem that surprised that your aunt was taken away,” Seth prodded a little. Alora let out a sigh,

“No my aunt is an opportunist, if it was my cousin Jessie than yeah I would be upset. She’s just like me, we were born around the same time. We both were going to have our virginity sold to the werewolf council Elders, and then f****d into p**********n, so we both wanted them taken down. We just want our mates, My mom and aunt…” Alora trailed off and he reached out and grabbed her hand. His wolf was angry hearing what could have happened to his mate. Alora smiled at him, “well let’s just say their motives aren’t as pure, your alpha is wise to be cautious. I’m thankful he is giving me and Jessie a chance here.”

“Can you give us ideas on how to keep your aunt safely in the dungeons?” Seth asked Alora. Alora nodded and quickly gave him some common sense pointers. Sound proof room. No male guards. Seth quickly passed the information along and Killian thanked him. Seth got Alora a small meal, which she ate and then stated she was sleepy.

“Oh… okay, I’ll get out of your hair,” Seth stated awkwardly. Alora grabbed his hand,

“If you don’t mind, will you lay down with me until I fall asleep?” She asked shyly and Seth could only nod in response. Seth decided it was best to leave on his clothes but took off his shoes and pulled back the blankets. He crawled in the bed and pulled his petite mate against his larger frame. His wolf started purring like a big cat in his head.

“My wolf is so happy right now,” Seth told Alora and she responded with a giggle.

“Im happy too, I’ve never been more content.” Seth kissed her forehead and heard her sigh. He closed his eyes and felt himself float off to sleep. Happier than he’d ever been. He would deal with all the problems tomorrow.

Penelope pov

Brax finally returned after a week of helping the Crystal Pines Pack transition to a new Alpha, his youngest brother Cam. Penelope wanted to go, but she just wasn’t able to with school. Brax didn’t want to leave her, but Penelope knew it was something he needed to do after she had came home early and heard the conversation with his brother Denali. The bear pack had wanted Brax their to oversee the transition. The people saw Braxton as their savior and wanted his verification that Cam would take care of the pack.

Penelope practically shoved him out the door after that. Brax called her every night while he was away and it was very hard for them to be apart. Especially after their loss, but they were working through it. Together. Braxton was due to return today while she was at classes.

Penelope wanted to do something that she hadn’t done in a long time, let Koko out for a run. Koko was begging for a run with her mate. When she got home from classes she found her mate sitting at the table with a huge pile of tacos and a huge smile on his face. Penelope ran and jumped into his much bigger frame.

“I missed you so much mate,” he whispered in her ears causing her to shiver. She had missed the amazing tingles from the mate bond that was now coursing through her body. Penelope pulled back and kissed him like she had never kissed him before. Braxton laughed and kissed her all along her jaw,

“Later. Let’s catch up first. I missed you.”

The two of them sat down eating and talking for hours. Braxton mainly talked as he had news to share, the big one being that his father wanted him to go back and become the alpha. She simply shrugged at the news as this was inevitable.

“Well my semester will be over in a month.” Penelope stated, “do you think that’s long enough for him to wait for you to come back?” She asked him and Braxton looked at her in shock.

“You think I should become alpha?”

“Braxton you are the alpha of your pack, whether you realize it or not, you have the natural dominance that everyone around you follows and submits to,” Penelope responded with a smile. Braxton nodded,

“Well what about us?” Penelope smiled,

“I love you more than anything and we will figure it out, as long as I have your support.” Braxton grabbed her hand and looked deep into her eyes,

“You will always have my support, I will never take this away from you. This is who you are and this is who I fell madly in love with even before I knew you were my mate.” Braxton declared fiercely and Penelope couldn’t help but cry.

“Come on, let’s go,” Penelope grabbed Brax’s hand and they went running out the door.

It took an hour drive to the park where Penelope normally shifts and where she had met Braxton for the first time. Braxton figured out what they were doing as they drove outside of the city in his rental car. They got deep into the woods and Penelope finally stopped and started to undress with a smile on her face while keeping her eyes on her mate. Braxton in turn took his shirt off and pants with heat in his eyes. Penelope embraced him and looked at his chest at the tattoo of Koko. Something caught her eye, a new tattoo it was a heart nestled in between his cub and next to her wolf. It wasn’t there before, Penelope had spent hours tracing his new tattoos in bed. She would have noticed.

“What is this?” Penelope asked, already knowing the answer.

“I had Denali do it while I was gone, do you like it?” Brad asked and Penelope nodded fighting back tears still tracing the navy blue heart.

“I love it,” Penelope whispered hating herself even further for how her feelings had manifested since she lost their pup. LB had always been an amazing mate to her, patient and understanding. He never begrudged her desire to become a doctor. Penelope pulled back and quickly shifted into her wolf. Koko stepped back as Brax shifter into his majestic white bear.

The two of them had never been together in their animal forms, life had gotten in the way. Koko was purring like crazy and Brax’s bear was letting out little chuffing sounds. The bear stood there waiting for Koko to make the first move and Koko quickly did so walking up to the huge bear and rubbing up alongside him. Koko stayed for a moment before nipping his back leg and taking off. Braxton came barreling after her. The two of them playing for the first time, Koko had never been happier. Penelope could feel the love coming from Brax in the bond, it has never been stronger. They ran together, played, and caroused throughly enjoying getting to know each other’s animal mate.

They eventually came to the spot that Penelope found Braxton for the first time covered in b***d barely breathing. The wolf and bear rolled around in the underbrush before Koko laid ontop of the massive bear.

Penelope and Brax eventually shifted back and looked deeply into each others eyes. Their eyes were full of l**t and longing.

“Can you?” Braxton asked and Penelope nodded her head. Penelope shifted her h**s and Braxton huge member slipped inside her finally making themselves one. Penelope leaned in to k**s him like never before. Goddess she loved this man and she rode him up and down.

“I love you Penelope, you brought life into my dark world.” Braxton kissed her deeply before pulling away.

“You make me complete Braxton, I love you,” Penelope continued to ride her mate until they both came from biting each others marks.

They laid together in the after math holding each other tight. Penelope knew the next few years were going to be hard, but this was worth fighting for.
