The Game Of Quadruplet Mates -
Pete
The Games
June left to go inside the Games first. The snobby girl in the front of the mansion pointed towards the gardens with a roll of her eyes. June was nervous and it showed, her bracelet leaving the smell of poverty and her poor upbringing in her wake. The stench followed her every move, a reminder to all that she was a one. The lowest of the lows. The last in line to hundreds and I shouldn't have been surprised.
No one was really surprised.
How could we be?
She was an abandoned child who was adopted by a mateless boy with no rank. The odds were against her and will forever be against her.
Blood ranking didn't really matter to me. It doesn't really matter to the farm pack in general if it wasn't for the Games that always reminded us. But at the end of the day, we were all the same in this hell hole we call home.
Our Alpha watched her go, his face slackened and obviously worried. "Let's hope they don't pick on her too much."
It wasn't a matter of whether she would get made fun of.
It was a matter of how bad it would be.
Poor June.
"She's pretty." Larissa came to her rescue, her eyes narrowed in challenge. "I bet she'll be chosen by many men."
We all turned to frown at Larissa and her delusions. June was a sweetheart, a desperate one, but to claim that she would be chosen by many men wasn't just a reach, it was impossible and it was obviously never going to happen. "I said men, Pete. You're obviously not one." She quips at me with a lifted eyebrow.
I couldn't help but smirk, unbelieving that anyone would take June away from me. "She's a one."
Ever quick with her tongue, Larissa opened her viper's mouth full of venom. "And you're a piece of trash."
"Enough both of you." The Alpha scolds, glaring sharply at the two of us. "You have enough enemies in there. Remember there are only four of you. Don't lessen your numbers by fighting each other."
Larissa and I kept our mouths shut after that, waiting for the other guy in our small group to put his identifier on. He was a stupid thing. Yet another unmated one by the end of the weekend.
"Try not to sleep around too much." I whispered in Larissa's ear as she passed by me.
She merely smiled sweetly- it didn't suit her snake face. "Don't sound so jealous."
Her smug, holier than thou attitude always drives me through the wall. She's always been like this, thinking she's above everyone just because all her countless brothers have successful mate stories with fair dowries. "Twenty. A crystal heirloom necklace. No rank. With a blood line." The woman in front announces. "You're a two."
I snorted loudly, not that I cared what her rank was, but it was mostly to piss her off.
Larissa merely shrugged, unbothered as she wore her identifier proudly before walking to where June disappeared. The Alpha pushes me forward. "Get on with it, Pete."
The woman with a clipboard looks me up and down, unimpressed. "Twenty. With rank. No blood line. You're a two." Fuck.
She straps the identifier on me, a look of mild disgust on her face, before turning away without another word.
It was insulting. I'm handsome. Plenty of girls in our pack have asked me out, even June has a crush on me. And I was experienced too. I've slept with many women in the pack, the mateless girls that couldn't help but keep coming back for more of me. So I didn't understand the disinterest.
Shrugging, I walked along the pathway to the gardens, hearing the giggles and loud laughter. There was a musical instrument playing something soothing and when I finally got to the party, my eyes widened at the luxury surrounding us.
Girls of every shape, color and size paraded in flashy clothing, smiling and showing off every mouth watering part of them. It was so easy to forget sad looking June in the crowd of such beautiful creatures.
They all looked like Larissa but better because they were rich and pretty and all eager to replace mates. Eager to meet me.
A slobbering mess, I followed a group of girls to a table filled with food, my mouth open and watching their every move. They all smelled good, like expensive flowers, and I was the lucky one to pluck their petals.
I nearly choked when I saw Larissa at the table as well, glaring at me with her ever judging eyes. "Shouldn't you replace June? The pretty girl you promised to choose? Or are you not man enough to even keep your word?"
"Shut up, Larissa." I growled, stuffing my face with food.
"I don't understand what your problem is." She continues, ignoring what I said completely. "June is the nicest girl. She works the hardest among all of us and she's your friend. Your best friend. You're going to throw all that away because your tiny dick got hard with the first girl you see?"
It was hard.
And I hated that she knew it was.
"My dick isn't tiny and I will still choose June at the end of the Games." I told her, grinning widely as another desperate farm girl joined us, batting her eyelashes at me. See? I wanted to tell Larissa. I'm wanted. I'm hot. "I just want to have fun first. That's what the Games are for."
"You're fucking disgusting." Larissa shoved me against the table, her freakish strength surprising me. "Fix yourself or I'm breaking your neck."
I glared back at her, seeing the seriousness of her expression.
Larissa could very well break my neck and she could get away with it.
All she had to do was call on her brothers.
Bitch.
"June!" I shouted blindly, hoping she wouldn't hear me from wherever she was. "Come quick. It's unlimited."
To my dreaded luck, June heard me and was by my side in an instant. She was so dull now. Comparing her to the girls and the mansion, she was so out of place here. A hole in the wall. The mold.
And she looked like a pug.
Tempted not to claim her altogether, I stuffed my face with food so that I didn't have to talk to her anymore.
She doesn't even notice how I pushed her away, how badly I was treating her. That's what was great about June. She's so desperate, so lonely and scared to be left alone because of her idiotic trauma of so long ago that I can do whatever I wanted and she'll come right back to me with her wide hopeful eyes.
Pathetic.
Larissa frowns at me, noticing how quickly I disregarded June, and starts a conversation with her.
How sweet. Girls protecting other girls.
Whatever.
Back to the other desperate girl still batting her eyelashes at me. She's talking but I don't really care about what she's saying. But what I do notice is how cute she is. Small and petite but very sexy. She had a good chest to her. Like melons.
And then I was kissing her, tongue and all. It was so easy. I tested the limits and it seemed endless. My hands were down her dress and feeling her soft breasts.
I heard June gasp from behind me, so I deepened the kiss, smiling into the other girl's lips and wrapping my arms around this random girl that tasted like candy. And like always, June will be back and pawing at me for attention.
It was fine. She forgives easily.
June makes another sound and I'm all too eager to see her reaction this time, only June wasn't even looking at me anymore. She was looking at another guy, a guy that passed by her. June had her lips parted, her dark eyes wide and... interested. The guy's blue eyes were bright as he stared at June and when he was close to her, his shoulder brushed against hers, a smile playing at his lips the entire time.
These new arrivals are the nameless pack and this one, the baby blue eyed blondie, is their famous pretty boy Beta.
Fuck him.
June is mine.
How dare he look at her-
"Baby, wait." The girl I was kissing says, pulling me back to her lips. "Don't stop."
But June!
No.
June will pay for that, so I push the girl against the table, eating her face like she was my lunch and this time, June does see it, her face contorting with pain. Horrified, she walks away, carrying something alcoholic and starts chugging it down her throat. Larissa follows after her, shooting me another glare as she signals to her throat- a warning and a threat, before turning away with a roll of her eyes.
The girl tugs at my pants and I pull her towards the bushes. After making quick work of her there where people could hear my handiwork, I emerged not long after. Eating my fill of the table while keeping an eye on June. She was by the lake, alone and looking around, her face hopeful.
I laughed at the sight.
She wasn't getting anyone.
But what irked me was that she did. Some boys were looking at her and though her bracelet did most of the work for me, they still would not stop looking at her.
I suppose June is pretty and she has that 'save me' look about her, but that's all. She's pretty at best, but is no great beauty. Yet, like all the rest of these babbling men, I could not look away from her.
She joins Larissa at the table once more, smiling shyly and trying food. My eyes widened when a few men approached her, eyeing her body and looking at her face with interest before pulling away at the sight of her identifier.
This happens a few more times and each time, her smile goes smaller and smaller.
But mine got wider and wider.
She retreats to the swing again, her eyes on her hands and looking pitiful as always. I was about to save her from her misery when a different man approached her, but this man was no ordinary man. This was Konstantin. The Beta of the city pack. He smiled at her, the look on his face like a predator replaceing it's prey.
June recognizes him, her eyes just as big and doe like.
They talked for a suspiciously long time and it annoyed me that they didn't look disgusted with each other. Surely, June would repel this man with her rank? Surely, June will realize he's just a player coming to collect another girl under his belt of millions. But they smile at each other and I stand from my seat, ready to take my mate from this obvious player, but I'm blocked by a city pack member who stands in front of me with a sharp look.
"What?" I questioned, losing my patience.
"Do not come any closer." The intimidating guard warned in a deep voice. "Our Beta has demanded that they aren't to be disturbed."
"That's my mate, my girl." I clarified, watching as the Beta came closer to June.
A smirk on the guard's lips has me swallowing. "She's his girl now. That's how it works. What he wants, he gets."
I'm then pushed hard against a table, falling on my a s s. Ready to risk it all for June and my pride, I stood up and was prepared to fight when I saw another Beta join June and Konstantin. The pretty boy with baby blue eyes and blonde hair.
A stand off ensues, the two of them squaring off as June quietly stood between them. Everyone was watching, their interest peaked as two powerful Betas fought over a tiny little pathetic farm girl.
And they're right to question it.
June is a poor girl from an even poorer pack.
They get nothing from this.
They get nothing from her.
But they're fighting over her like she was their most prized possession.
But they didn't know that June was mine.
She's my possession.
Mine and mine alone.
And nothing will ever take her away from me.
