The Game Of Quadruplet Mates -
Chapter 47
Ajax
The tremor that shook the earth is what made it all real. Explosions were happening all around me as I watched the raging flames burn everything and anything in its path. I watched as the fires ate through the woods, the buildings, the people... everything. Nothing
was left but screams, charred remains and a city that never was.
When I was just a boy I stood the very same way, seeing the exact same thing. I had felt powerless and such helpless horror as I watched my entire life and everyone I know and love burn to the ground. De a t h would have been easier then but it never came as I was locked in his nightmare where I had no one.
The past seemed to creep into my mind. It wasn't hard to remember my mother's hand in mine, cold and d e a d and unmoving. It wasn't hard to remember how I hid with my baby brother in my arms until they took him away and killed him in front of me. The sound of the crack, the sound of his death like a broken record in my head. It wasn't hard to see my father fighting and trying his best to keep us alive... to no avail. He was no fighter. All he knew was the peaceful life of the farms. That is no more.
Now I was the one that held all the power and for the first time, the city pack was at my mercy.
For years I have planned for this very moment, imagining what it would be like. For years there was nothing else left of me but the destruction of the pack that ruined mine and now it was finally happening. The black smoke is thick in the air, the c r a c k of the fires consuming life and this constant explosion that seemed to be from a never ending volcano that erupted purged this city made of blood.
I took a second to take it all in. The smell of death was thick in the air, much like how it was before, but this time it wasn't innocents that were killed, it wasn't happening to a small defenseless farm pack that couldn't do anything but let it all happen. This time it was them.
This horrible pack that has ruined so many lives.
And I was coming for them.
All of them.
They were all going to pay for the lives they took, for the horrors they've done to people. Today it will all end.
With the memory of my pack in my mind, with Jeremy's past in my heart and with June, my sweet June, who was being pulled in so many directions at once, I charged forward, running as fast as I could through the wreckage.
The warriors I brought followed behind me as we cleaved through the horrified border patrols. I made quick work of them, tearing every single one of the city pack to shreds, breaking bones and snapping limbs until the ground gleamed from their blood, soaking the land with blood of the cruel.
Pained howls and shouts of the city pack were drowned out by the sound of my growls, of my victims and the sound of their flesh being ripped apart. I lavished on the feeling, lavished on the sound that I once heard all those years ago. How many of these patrols were there that night when my world crumbled? When my life was changed forever by them?
It didn't matter.
They were all the same.
And they will get what they deserve.
Going deeper into their lands, there was chaos everywhere. Buildings were falling from the skies it once proudly stood over, the glittering streets that paraded wealth and power were now left with nothing but blood and terror and death.
I had half a mind to check on June and Jeremy. June was fighting along side my Delta, sticking to her promise of staying in wolf form and being surrounded by the best of my warriors. Jeremy was right behind me, dragging Konstantin along as they made their way to Cora.
If I was being honest, I did not care much for Larissa. I would have burned everything to the ground with her in the middle of it, but June cared about her and if I let that happen, what difference would I have with this blasted city Alpha? I would just be another dictator, a power hungry monster with no regard for life.
I push myself forward, intent on finally ending this all. The building where the city Alpha was had warriors too many to count and they barricaded themselves with shields... living shields. By the sounds of my choked up warriors, these were prisoners-slaves the city pack took from the packs they ruined.
My warriors stumbled, which is what the city pack wanted to happen, to use even more of our weaknesses against us. Before my group could be fully distracted by this, I quickly split my warriors in two. Half of them to shift into their human forms to save the prisoners, bringing them safely back to the borders, and the other half to take out the guards who threatened to kill the shields.
'Now!' I ordered through the mind link, jumping forward to grab a city pack guard in my mouth before crushing the skull with my teeth.
There were so many of them, everywhere and in all directions, spilling out of the building in waves and waves. I never wavered, fighting against the current of rushing enemies and killing anyone that came. I tore through their ranks, shattering bones and decapitating heads, showing them my fury, my hate, my suffering.
Body parts were flying and blood was spilling like waterfalls. The quake on the ground made everything unstable, making it easy to plow through the crowd of guards. I thought of my family, I thought of all the people I could not save as I ripped bodies left and right. I have spent my whole life fighting for this day, training myself and surviving as best as I could so that today would happen.
There was nothing but rage inside me.
An invisible force that pushed me harder despite the bruises, the bites and the cuts that tried to slow me down.
My fur was drenched in blood by the time my warriors could free the living shields. The doors of the building were finally clear... the remaining city pack retreating to their last line of defense.
They were warning their Alpha, the dead calling out to him and asking for help, for support, for anything, but the coward stayed where he was, hiding behind silver doors, all the way up to the highest floor of the building. He thought he could keep me away. But nothing would.
Nothing was stopping me.
It took only one push to get the thick silver door to open, revealing a room made of gold and crystals, a room full of warriors and a man holding a girl by the mouth as he ravaged her.
I was too late.
He grinned, knowing I was late.
That I have failed another yet again.
Larissa was on the couch, screaming and crying as she fought against his hold, but this didn't stop him. It seems this horrible man has a lot of experience in this and my hate for him triples.
He didn't care to keep his mask up. In front of me was the real city Alpha, all of him. No more was the man who pretended to be kind, giving empty flowery words and warm smiles. He wasn't putting on a show anymore with his charm and smooth pleasantries, this was the monster of my nightmares, the man behind it all.
The city Alpha detached himself from Larissa, wiping his mouth that gleamed from spit. "I used to let Jeremy watch this, you know. I'm sure he used this knowledge well on your mate."
He was baiting me. Even to the end.
He knew nothing of me but he still kept at it.
A mad man who knows only pain and is willing to let anyone di e to get what he wants.
"Yes, I heard you two have the same taste for women... or should I say a woman." His smile was vile, everything about him was vile. "Did you taste him when you tasted her?"
I did not move, observing our area for any traps, but it seems he was rushed here at the last minute. Nothing but the silver door was placed to keep him safe. But silver didn't harm me anymore. I didn't care about the pain. I only wanted one thing: his death. "I taught Jeremy all that he knows. I'm sure he pleasured your mate beautifully." The Alpha licked his lips, eyes sharp and smiling as he took me in. "This farm girl isn't a virgin. She lost nothing. Don't worry. She gained everything because of me, I'm sure. Be careful with Konstantin, he likes the taste of your mate too... it's too bad I never got to taste her."
Everything in me said to attack, said to kill, said to torture and let it all end now, but his hand was tight around June's friend who whimpered, naked and violated. She has already suffered a lot, I cannot fail her now.
As if he knows what I'm thinking, what I'm planning, he grins wickedly once more. "If you're planning to use my daughter on me, know that I do not care. I have plenty of other children. Do what you want with her. She means nothing to me and I've already killed my own mate, so there's nothing you can use on me. Unlike you."
'Alpha,' I heard Jeremy whisper in my mind. 'Konstantin... we... Cora is no more. She's dead.
"This is your mate's best friend, right? You want to keep her alive? Her other friend Pete told me about dear Larissa and how she means a lot to June. Beautiful June." The man taunted, bright blue eyes shining with mirth as he dragged a shuddering Larissa off the couch, his hand on her neck, taking her to the balcony where she dangled off the edge. "Take one step closer and she pummels to her death and you fail your mate all over again."
'Change of plans. I growled to Jeremy. 'Get ready!
"I will give you the girl if you let me walk away from here." He negotiated, knowing he wouldn't ever win a fight with me. "You've already ruined all my hard work. You've already taken everything from me."
"Everything?" I managed to say through gritted teeth. This was everything to him? What of the people? He didn't even ask to save his people. Not his daughter or his sister. He only wants to save himself. "You think this is everything?"
Smart, calculating eyes looked me up and down before realization settled and he knew. "You're just a poor farm boy, aren't you? The nameless Alpha that has been ruining everything and causing us trouble was just some farm boy that is throwing a tantrum? How disappointing. You're no one special. I thought you were better. Not some one."
His disgust was palpable.
"I must have killed your family and destroyed your lands?" He laughed, mockingly, genuinely happy about this. "Is that all? Is that what this is all for? Some farm pack that we slaughtered? You're all scum. Sad little things. You should know this already. We've killed millions of you and I will gladly kill more."
'Jeremy?' I whispered, a blinding rage nearly consuming all of me.
'Ready.' My Beta spoke.
The city pack Alpha stood tall and proud, no longer afraid of me. "After I get rid of you, I'm going to take your mate and I'm going to fuck her on top of your dead body, do you hear me?"
'Now!' I commanded, shifting in midair as I leapt forward, running towards him.
The surprise and outrage in the Alpha's face was clear as day. Clearly, the real monster did not expect me to run at him with Larissa still dangling over the balcony, threatening to drop her this high up. He turned to the rest of his guards expectantly and several things happened simultaneously:
First, the warriors that surrounded me came running to his guards, ripping them to shreds and leaving them as mere pieces of flesh. It only took seconds.
Second, the city Alpha lets go of his hold on Larissa, dropping Larissa to her doom, but before he can do so, Konstantin falls from the balcony above, landing right next to him as Konstantin immediately grabs for Larissa before she can pummel to her death. Konstantin yanked her back, bringing her safely inside, wrapping her in whatever cover he found as she shook in his arms.
Lastly, Jeremy drops from above as well, carrying pieces of Cora as he shoves it down the Alpha's mouth.
"You sick fuck." Jeremy was shaking, his knees rattling as he blinked back tears. "You ruined us all."
The Alpha sputters out his daughter from his mouth, grabbing Jeremy by the neck and choking my Beta. "You've always been a disgrace. I should have carved you out of your mother when I had the chance."
I slam against the city pack Alpha, throwing us to the glass floor, skidding to the edge of the glass railing.
'Go! I've got him. Make sure June is okay! I shouted through the mind link, standing from my crouched position as I stared down at the Alpha that had already shifted.
He was a white wolf, similar to Jeremy's, but he was bigger, his body exuding the power and experience of a man who spent his entire life fighting as well. This wasn't just some rich man that let people fight for him. He was a Beta in his time and he protected his lands well. He smiled, teeth sharp and biting. He was confident.
For why should he fear a one?
The cruelty of his smile made me remember the wolves from the night I lost everything. He was there.
I know he was.
The glass floors we stood on were smudged with blood... of body parts that my men had ripped apart. They were gone now.
It was just us.
Alpha to Alpha.
My face, my muzzle was dripping with blood, of gore, of horrors. I have waited for this my whole life.
He attacks first. His body crashed against mine with a surprising force but I did not let this move me, standing tall as I aimed for his neck, his face. The meteor of my rage is evident to him and he soon gets to taste how much I have prepared myself for this moment. Locked in a battle of teeth and claws, it did not last long. He expected me to slow like he did, he expected me to take a second to breathe, to stop when he managed to take a bite of me... but nothing stops me.
No pain could be felt through this fury and hate.
He was getting cornered, his face contorted with agony and focus, putting all his strength and effort in keeping up with my blows.
The Alpha didn't understand that I was a monster too, a monster of his creation and I was fighting at the edge... the very edge of my sanity.
He is gathering himself, preparing for one final push against me. Desperate and out of breath, overwhelmed by the storm that came at him over and over and over.
My breathing was harsh, my face twisted as I let the last of my control go and I was on top of him, my paw pressing down on his neck as I shifted into my human form, holding him down while the wolf shuddered and shook, fighting against my hold.
I was bleeding too, my muscles tight with strain, but I have lived with being tired and hungry and weak, a near de a t h all my life, nothing was stopping me now.
Knowing he has lost, the man that caused all of us pain and suffering shifts into his human form as well.
"W-who are you?" He choked, breath caught in his throat.
"A boy you shouldn't have kept alive." It would have been too easy to kill him, too easy to squeeze the last of his life with my fingers, but he didn't deserve an easy death.
I forcefully turned his face to the ruins of his land, making him watch as everything he had worked for fell, building by building. We were high above the sky, a full view of this world. And I know this scars him. He didn't care about anyone else. He was right. He did not have any weaknesses... except the pack he took from his Alpha and worked hard to build.
So I force him to watch as everything crumbles and I hear him wailing, crying as it all fell, as it all burned to ashes.
I take my time, breaking every bone of his body. I took my time peeling his skin and tearing through his flesh all while he was still alive. I fed him his daughter. I dangled him over the balcony and right as he thinks it's over, I let him heal and start all over again. He won't die easily.
I won't let that happen.
I will bathe in his blood until he knows the pain he caused us.
Until he feels it.
