The Gamma’s Heart – Chapter 47

It’s been a little over a week now and despite her parents protests, Anna asked if she could stay with her brother. Not to move in but she simply just wanted to see her adorable little neice everyday.

School was out for a few days due to the heavy snow storm they had and both her and Clara couldn’t be happier about that.

Hearing a knock on the door Clara went to get up when Anna stopped her. “I’ll get it, you are feeding Bailey.”

Anna stood up from the couch and walked a little faster hearing another knock “hold your horses I’m coming” she shook her head and opened the door a second later. “yes?” the young man looked familiar but she couldn’t place him.

Richard stood there, he instantly forgot how to speak as he looked at Anna. “Umm is..” he cleared his throat “is my sister here?”

Anna’s eyebrows pinched together. She didn’t even know his name let alone his sister. She knew one thing about him though, he was delicious to look at.

He seen that she hadn’t caught on to the similarities between him and Clara, he chuckled lightly. “Clara, is Clara here?”

A small smile formed on her face “She’s in the living room feeding the baby.” Anna told him moving aside. “I knew she had more brothers but I haven’t met any of them.” she admitted.

Turning to her Richard flashed her a smile and held out his hand “I’m Richard” he told her.

As Anna placed her hand in his she gasped and pulled away. Those were sparks, she knew what that meant but he was so much older than she was.

Anna quickly walked into the living room and sat beside Clara.

“Your brother is here.” Clara looked up at her then over to the doorway and seen Richard. “Who sent you over here?” she questioned.

Richard looked at her nervously, it’s like she seen right through him. “Noah did!”

Clara growled “You can turn around and leave then. Anna and I don’t need a babysitter.” Anna was internally screaming for him to stay, but was extremely grateful that Clara had asked him to leave.

Richard looked between the two of them, his eyes lingered on Anna a little longer until he looked back at his sister, who was slightly glaring at him. “Can I speak to you? Alone?” I asked her.

Clara shook her head. “I already know what you’d like to talk about. And as overjoyed as I am on the matter, Richard, we don’t need you here tonight.”

Anna looked over at her and smiled, she mouthed a ‘thank you’ and Clara winked at her.

“I see, you got a girls night going on? Is Kelly, Mariah and Josie coming over too?” Richard huffed annoyed that his sister was sending him away.

Anna giggled lightly. “Sounds fun,” she mumbled, Clara nodded “I wasn’t thinking about calling them, but now I am.”

Richard went to turn away but stopped “can I come back tomorrow?” he asked.

“That isn’t up to me, Richard! But I’ll call you and let you know, now be gone peasant.” Richard glared at her as he backed out of the room.

Anna turned her body towards Clara once she heard the front door close. “How did you know?”

Clara placed Bailey on her shoulder and began patting her back, she then looked over at Anna and smiled. “He looks at you the same way Micah looks at Josie and Wyatt and Noah look at me.”

“I seen it durring the whole day of the pack merge. I think he’s being hesitant simply because of your age. Wyatt did the same thing, but I hated him for it…he knew for over a year and said nothing.” Clara said with a sigh.

Anna looked down at her hand, the one that touched his. “I wouldn’t have known had I not shook his hand.” she looked back up.

“He’s a good guy Anna. Jackson is the i***t, Richard is the sweetheart.” Anna sighed and slummped back, “I have to break up with Nate!”

Clara giggled “atleast you knew about the bond before you had s*x with someone. I however caught Wyatt’s wrath for that. God forbid if they see Quentin ever again.”

Anna laughed at her admition, she was only told the good things about the relationship between the trio not the ugly.

“I’m gonna go lay her down and grab my phone so we can call the girls here. A slumber party sounds like a good idea since the boys won’t be home till morning.” Clara told her standing up.

“They merged last week, we waited too long.” one man yelled as he stood up from his seat, his face red with anger.

Quentin rolled his eyes at him. “What do you want us to do then?” I questioned him.

“Attack them now.” Another called out, when I looked over I noticed it was the woman who wanted to wait till after her son’s birthday.

I g*****d and ran a hand down my face. The only reason I was getting help from my family and The Crystal Pack was due to blackmailing my cousin.

He was cheating on his mate, she knew about it but never knew who it was, but I did. Stupid Delta b***d, that side of the family was always cheating on their mates.

“Fine. Meet me at the borders of our pack at 10pm! I can show you where the least guarded is on theirs.” Quentin nodded, he’ll finally get his girl back.

“I’ll call my cousin so he can get his people ready too.” a sinister smile took over his face just thinking about all the things he wanted to do once he had Clara back in his arms.

Josie giggled as she texted Micah back, a blush on her cheeks as she re-read what he said.

“No sexting allowed!” Mariah said snatching her phone from her. As she looked at the messages Mariah cleared her throat. “Damn Josie, I thought you were the innocent one here.”

Kelly giggled at how red Josies face became. Anna walked in with snacks while Clara had drinks, real ones.

“Lets play truth or dare!” Josie said quickly as she took her phone back from Mariah.

“I can’t, I can tell when someone is lying. So that would be cheating on my part.” Clara said sitting down, she placed the baby monitor on the table and took a sip of her water while the others grabbed the shot glasses she brought in.

Mariah took her water bottle from her. If we’re drinking so are you.”

“I have a child upstairs, I can’t drink. Somebody has to make sure she don’t starve to death. ” Clara grimaced just thinking about it as she took her water back.

Mariah stood up and grabbed a glass then took the bottle back from Clara. “We need a bottle.” she told her as she ignored the glare she was giving her.

Mariah gave the glass over to Clara and placed the bottle down in the middle “Clara no powers, you aren’t allowed to get out of the game by diverting the bottle.”

“I can teleport I don’t have telekinesis, Mariah.” Mariah waved her off and spun the bottle, it landed on Anna who was on her phone not payimg attention.

“Truth or dare, little Evans!” Mariah asked.

Anna jumped and her face heated. “Uhh dare.” she wasn’t in the mood for questions. Mariah gave a cocky smile. “I dare you to show the person beside you who your texting.”

Anna looked next to her right seeing it was Josie and to her left was Kelly. She sighed and moved over to Josie and opened up her messages.

Josie skimmed through them “do I say it now or wait?” “Wait until we get to you.” Kelly offered, Mariah nodded liking that idea.

Mariah spun the bottle again and against her better judgment it landed on her. Damn it.

Kelly bounced a bit. “Truth or dare, Mariah?”

“Truth I guess..” she could tell the truth but she hated a dare. Kelly smiled “Are you sleeping with Keith?”

The drink Clara was drinking was spit out as she tried desperately not to choke on her own breath.

Josie patted her back trying to ease her coughing fit some as she snickered at the look Mariah had on her face.

“Uhh I…umm..what?” Mariah fumbled over her words. Kelly giggled lightly. “Are you, sleeping with my brother?”

Mariah’s face flushed and she looked away from Kelly. “No I’m not” Mariah said still avoiding eye contact, a slight wince next to her made her eyes drift to Clara.

“Why did you do that?” she asked rubbing her temples, gaining a new power sucks. And this one causes pain when a lie is told. She hopes as she gets older it becomes more of a slight sting rather than a drill going into her head.

“I didn’t do anything, I told her the truth.” Clara shook her head. “I told you couldn’t play this game.”

Mariah crossed her arms stubornly then looked at Kelly “I’m NOT sleeping with your brother.”

Kelly wasn’t even looking at Mariah, she knew she was, the fact that she knew she was physically hurt their friend is what was upsetting her.

“Your bleeding, Clara!” Josie whispered, wiping her nose with a napkin. “I’m okay, it happens sometimes. It’s this new power, it’s a mental one and it affects the brain, hence the nosebleed.” Clara smiled at her friends then glanced over at Mariah.

She stood up just as the baby began crying, Clara placed her hand on her shoulder and leaned down “little liar..” she said low enough for just her to hear.

“Something feels off tonight!” Anna said looking around the room. Everyone else in the room nodded in agreement, the air felt different and no one knew why.

Kelly spun the bottle again and it landed on Josie. Both Kelly and Mariah’s eyes lit up, “truth or dare Josie?”

Josie though for a moment “truth I guess.” she shrugged.

“What was in those messages Anna showed you?” Josie looked over at Anna, Anna looked at her and sighed with a nod.

“She was breaking up with her boyfriend.” Josie told them. “Damn girl!” Mariah told her.

“Why?” Kelly asked. “Because I found out who my mate was today.” Anna said shyly.

Josie nudged her shoulder. “Who is it cutie?”

Anna’s cheeks heated up “Richard!”

Suddenly the front door burst open and in ran Noah. “Where is she?”

The girls stood up “what’s wrong, Noah?” Josie asked cautiously.

“There’s rouges and hunters breaching our borders. Over 100 of them.” he said still looking around for his child and mate.

Kelly looked towards the stairs. “She went to get the baby.” she told him just as the back door was burst open, hitting the wall, the glass on the door broke from how hard it hit the wall.

Four matted wolves began walking onto the kitchen.
