A boy sat at the side of the training grounds, deep inside himself with his thoughts. How could his father leave him? And why with a lie? Why couldn’t he tell the truth to his son, just for once? The thing he was sure about was that he wanted to see him. He would see his father. Today!

He re-zoned into the world with his new goal in mind and swiftly got to his feet, just as his Alpha and Eric were walking away. He close his eyes, feeling the breeze raking through his blonde hair, just like his fathers used to be. Maybe he was on the run; Or had done something wrong. What if he was already... dead. ‘NO, I mustn’t think like that,’ He thought, ‘Anyway, my mother would probably know.’ Pushing all those hideous thoughts from his mind, he ran like the wind, back to the front of the palace, past all the guards who were on the bridge of breaking, and finally through the portal to start the search for his father, and hopefully get back before the war had started.

The wind was much more outside the protected fox world. It rushed through the trees, rustling their branches like they were trying to scare away a beast, and pulling at his ragged clothes as if to rip them from his malnourished body. In the pack they had feast upon feast, but he hardly ever ate. He hated the dead bodies of animals all of the others guzzled. It was cruel, but how they survived, so he ate as little as possible. He had the food chain in mind, the weakest at the bottom, the strongest at the top, but he couldn’t help thinking that he would prefer to be at the bottom eating plants than eating raw bodies.

He looked around, devouring the land with his eyes. Where to look first, he did not know. His father wouldn’t be in the forest if he was running from the war, as that was where the foxes lived. He had to replace his way out of that maze of a forest, and where better to start then a river. Lucas made his way through the mass of trees into an opening where a river started flowing. He followed the river until it stopped, coming to a clearing. Coming out of the woods. There were two lone houses in front of the boy. He looked between the two, debating which he should ask about his father. Should he ask the evil one with no letter box, or the huge daunting mansion. He decided to ask the mansion’s owner, as who would want to go into a house with no letter box!? Lucas walked up to the door, about to knock, but the door opened instead. He listened into what was happening, unsure if he should enter. Finally, he pushed open the door, but it wasn’t the smartest thing to do. The boy walked in, everyone turning around. He stopped, his eyes only landing on one person.

“Father!” he whispered, whilst flinging himself at Nicolas with tears in his eyes. The hunter’s eyes were wide, shocked at this sudden arrival. He hugged his son back, a small smile forming on his face.

“Why did you run away? Why did you leave me? Mother’s heart broken. You’re her mate. You’re meant to love her. Don’t you?” Lucas started flinging all these questions at his long lost father, yet before he could answer, someone more unwelcome than Lucas interrupted.

“Can’t you, like, see I’m in the middle of something here. I mean, I reunited you with your mother. Isn’t that enough? You don’t need your father, Nicolas is a traitor! Stacy would never betray me!” she started, ending up screaming at the end. A piece of regret start eating at Meeka. Had she been too harsh on Lucas. She closed her and pushed the thought out of her head. She was the Alpha. She was meant to be harsh, and the rules of betrayal were straight forward. They were to be cast out of the pack, or even killed.

Before Lucas could reply, Isabella started a massacre of questions. “You’re Stacy’s son!? Well why don’t you tell her not to try to kill me again,” the brunette started, Lucas’s eyes going wide, just like his father’s were. “Whilst your at it, tell my father not to try to kill me again, as well. I guess I’m good at escaping death. And what the HELL Nicolas. You have a SON?!” After Isabella was finished she was panting, and Scarlett was at her side.

“Why don’t I answer all those questions for you,” Meeka replied with a smirk on her face. “You will die in the war, so Stacy won’t have to kill you. I will personally see to it that you are dead. Yes, he’s Stacy’s son, but is that a big surprise. He’s got to be someone’s son, and you won’t escape death another time. Nicolas can tell you about himself. About his betrayal.” The evil woman looked at Isabella, then to Scarlett with a frown. ” Aren’t you meant to be with your father?” she slowly asked. Scarlett gulped, looking down. “We have another betrayal, I see. I doubt Eric will be very pleased. He had high hopes for you, little vixen.” Meeka softly sighed, turning hard once again. “I guess you’ll have to die as well.”

A tear escaped Lizzie’s eye, Linda putting an arm around her.

“Why are we even in a war?” Tears were now streaming down Lizzie’s face. “The only thing all of this conflict will lead to is death.” Lizzie dryly chuckled. “I’m sure Thanatos wouldn’t be happy. We are his creations after all.” All eyes were on the girl with golden hair. There were many unasked question going round the room, but before anyone could react, Meeka took control.

“Good luck,” the she-devil whispered, making her way out of the house, dragging Lucas along with her. “You’ll need it.
