Frank struggled to look up just as the scarlet lion shot past him, his pupils dilating when he saw what happened.

Damon, who thoroughly overwhelmed him and unleashed such a frightening technique at Godwin, was caught by the neck, his feet dangling and kicking in the air. It was such a plain counter, as if Godwin did not use an ounce of pure vigor.

"What the..." Frank was actually left murmuring out loud in disbelief.

"Watch closely now, brat," Godwin said calmly. "This is called the Lioncrusher-your grandfather taught me that, and it's used specifically to crush Lionhearts."

On the other hand, Damon's eyes were starting to roll up into their sockets even as he flailed around, his entire body feeling like it was being jolted persistently.

"I know what you're going to say." Godwin chuckled. "Why is it called the Lioncrusher, no?"

Damon gasped. "You wouldn't dare..."

Splat!

Suddenly, Damon's body bloated like a balloon before blowing up in a large puff of bloody mist. His blood splattered all over the ceiling, trickling down as if it was really raining.

"There. Crushed." Godwin smiled as he turned toward Frank.

"What... No way..."

Disbelief showed all over Frank's face.

Damon was of peak Ascendant rank, which made him one of the best martial artists in Draconia.

But he could well be an ant against Frank's father, pulverized in an instant even though he was still humiliating Frank a second ago.

The sheer difference in power left Frank dumbstruck, just as he directly witnessed the true strength of the Lord of the Southern Woods for the first time.

Even if both men were peak Ascendant rank, the difference was so vast that one could well be comparing a vigor wielder to an Ascendant rank.

It was not surprising now that Damon's intention was to bluff his way out by attempting to intimidate Godwin-and with his full power at that.

On the other hand, Godwin appeared to be taking in his son's shocked stare with glee, and he suddenly said, "My days are numbered, Frank." "What? Why?" Frank asked, once again shocked even as he struggled to turn to look at his father.

"Oh, that's none of your concern," Godwin replied, turning his back to him. "Just come home to see me once you're done cleaning up this mess. I have things to tell you... And you must come. Consider it your father's last wish."

Even Godwin's upright gait seemed to slump a little when he finished, and he slowly walked away, leaving Frank sitting limply on the floor.

Frank remained silent for a long while, when he suddenly felt a pang of aching in his heart.

He did not think that his father had this side to him.

Still, he whipped out an antidote and applied it over his skin, then took an Ichor Pill while sealing two of his meridians.

Once he was done tending to his injuries, he pushed himself to his feet despite the agony over his chest.

The elevators jingled as he limped towards it, and he headed upstairs.

Once he got out, he found Jet Turnbull and the Turnbull blackguards, standing off against several injured Lionheart bodyguards and Sif Lionheart herself.

The stairs were just behind her, covered in blood-she had clearly crawled up there.

Jet was in turn shielding a disfigured Vicky Turnbull behind him, and neither side was making a move.
