As the head of the Turnbull family, Glen could certainly see through the agenda of the elders and executives in his family.

Being businessmen through and through, they simply had no intention to go to war against the Lionhearts, if only to protect their precious money and estates. Even if war was inevitable, they would try to delay it as much as they could.

Unlike them, Glen had already come to understand that it was no more than a slow death, but those elders and executives were just that rotten.

They would rather die than lose their money, and such was the corrupt nature of businessmen.

"You can go," Glen said, waving Jet off. "I'll see to it myself."

Jet bowed and turned to leave, while Glen returned to his seat, taking a deep breath.

The Lionhearts had more than overreached, but his family was still a mess. All of them were just too busy prioritizing their wealth that they could not stop for a moment to stand united against the Lionhearts.

As a dynasty of business folks, the Turnbulls certainly had disposition and deserved their spot among the Four Families of Morhen.

However, the way they expanded their influence was different too, as they stationed branch family members across different states or abroad to develop on their own.

Even as they expanded further elsewhere, only the main family and their successors like Glen himself stayed in Morhen to inherit the family's seat of power in the capital.

As such, the Turnbulls' influence in Morhen was almost modest in contrast to the other three of the Four Families', even if they would still eclipse the rest.

That, however, was not the case if the branch families and the main rallied, uniting with determination to stand against the Lionhearts.

Even the Lionhearts with all their wealth and estate would be maimed, and it was a price they could not afford to pay-especially when they had to sustain a major organization like Volsung Sect.

With all the apprentices they were grooming, they had to spend astronomical figures on various natural wonders to maintain the system.

On top of that, they only kept that system going while they had good relations with the Turnbulls, a dynasty of specialists in trade and commerce.

But with Titus' conspiracy exposed and the Lionhearts' reputation tarnished, their finances were inevitably caught in a crisis.

It was a situation that even Simon Lionheart, the head of the Lionheart family, feared.

After Jet brought Frank back to Turnbull Estate without laying a finger on him, Glen was on hand to demand his release.

After that, Frank hurried to the Turnbulls' storehouse despite his injury, intent on concocting a medicinal paste.

He crushed an Ichor Pill, mixing it with copious amounts of herbs delivered from Loggins Apothecary and a drop of Kat Yego's blood.

He brewed the healing paste soon enough and limped to Vicky's room, carefully applying it to all her wounds.

He sighed a relief when it was done-Vicky's face would be as good as new in days.

With that, he finally spared some time to check his injuries.

Then, early the next morning, he went to Glen and handed over Vicky's voice recorder.

It was evidence enough, as Sif had been gloating in no uncertain terms about how she had framed Walter Turnbull.

Abel Loggins also issued a health declaration that Walter was affected by a nerve agent and was manipulated into molesting Denise Laine against his will.

The logic and evidence was impeccable, and even as Glen thanked Frank, he did not forget to curse Jet for his incompetence, along with the fools that were the other Turnbull elders and executives. Jet's face turned ashen even as he stood by and listened.

On the other hand, Frank could not care less, just as he had no intention to get involved with the internal strife of the Turnbull family.

All he wanted was for Walter to be brought back, unharmed.
