The Hansen brothers' question left Larry frowning in doubt too, and he turned to Peter. "Are you sure he's Frank Lawrence, Helen Lane's husband?"

"Yes!"

Peter's eyes were glued to Frank as he sneered. "Don't worry, Mr. Jameson. I'd recognize him anywhere."

"You'd better, or you know what's going to happen." Larry chuckled coolly.

Peter flinched right then but quickly flashed a fawning smile. "What are you saying, Mr. Jameson? Why would I lie to you? I mean, I still owe you ninety million dollars! I'd never lie to you even if it means giving up Lanecorp as collateral, right?"

Frank could hear them despite being encircled-it seemed that Peter had betrayed him and Helen because of his debt to Larry.

"Scumbag..." He glowered.

It was as if Helen's family was less than human, and they were intent on squeezing her dry.

"Where's Helen?" Frank demanded, turning toward Larry when he saw that the goons were closing in.

"Oh, you're still worried about your wife? How loving!" Larry laughed sleazily. "Don't worry-she's safe, tied up to a bed in one of my suburban mansions. I'll show her some proper hospitality once I'm done with you. Still, I must say that she's so hot I almost can't bear to lay a finger on her! Tut, tut, I really wouldn't have a taste if not for her good brother."

While Frank scowled at the sixtyish man's despicable attitude, he was still relieved.

Then, he turned toward the Hansen brothers who were rubbing their palms as they strode up to him, saying quietly, "This might be pointless, but word of advice-run before I get started. Training isn't easy, and life is precious. But don't test me as you are now... that's the last piece of advice I'll give you."

His threat left the Hansen brothers pausing and trading glances before bursting out in laughter.

Vin stared down Frank even as he stood with his face inches away, smirking. "Hahaha... Are you daydreaming or something, kid? Did you think we wouldn't know if you can fight? You don't think we can't tell what level you are, do you? You're bluffing the wrong people!"

"Why don't we give you a chance instead?" Mos cracked his neck audibly. "Kowtow to us ten times each, and we will kill you painlessly. How about that?" "Nah." Frank sighed, shaking his head. "You can't read me because you're that inferior. If you were even a bit better, you'd know well not to mess with me." Holding up his index finger, he said quietly, "Last chance."

"You have some cheek, brat!" Vin punched out at Frank, seeing that he was still talking tough.

It was supposed to crush his arm, so that he would writhe in agony and beg for mercy, while Vin and Mos would at least look like they earned their paychecks. Otherwise, Larry would most definitely not be paying the twenty million he promised in full if they killed Frank so easily.
