Cindy snapped with righteous indignation right then, "We did it to straighten out Frank! It's his fault for always strutting around us! He should take the loss since he likes to show off so much!"

"That's enough," Frank said quietly as he took his phone back from Helen, concerned that she would get a stroke. "Gina, I will ask you again-believe me and take the land, and you'll earn more than ten times what it cost you. If you don't do it now, you don't get to make a scene and demand I sell it back to you later."

Gina snapped hostilely right then, "What's that supposed to mean? Do I look like some fishwife to you?" "Exactly," Helen said, folding her arms before her chest as she was utterly disappointed in her own mother. Gina paused for a moment, clearly furious.

"Helen Lane!" she snarled, burning bridges right then. "You've really done it now... All I've ever done was for your sake, and I was so worried you'd choose a poor husband... but you never cared for your own mother at all, siding with Frank every time! I regret giving birth to you-if only I knew this would happen!"

However, Helen was just furious. "Both you and Cindy would be dead if not Frank, you hear me?! Those Talnamese would have killed you already! Frank is the one who's really helping the family, even going as far as to let you make easy money! Forget not accepting his kindness-you would spit in his face instead?! You certainly weren't so high-and-mighty when you were begging Frank to bail you out!"

"You brat! Did you just snap at me?! Hah! All daughters really are money wasted!" Gina retorted.

"That's enough!" Frank snapped just then, stopping the argument since this was not what he wanted.

Turning on his phone's voice recording function, he said calmly, "Gina, what I'm telling you is fact. That land's value will definitely skyrocket, and that's what Zamri's urban developers are saying."

"Hah! Zamri's urban developers?" Gina snorted, clearly not believing Frank. "Who do you think you are, making friends with them? And you'd just get some paid actor to con me if I ask for proof! I won't fall for it!"

Frank simply smiled. "I guess you're not going to believe me, Gina. But I will still ask one last time-do you want that plot of land?"

"Let me tell you this, Frank Lawrence," Gina growled right then. "My dear son Peter was the one who conned me into buying that land, and I would never have done it if not for him! You're the sucker for buying from me now, so don't think you can swindle me back. I'm Gina Zonda, and I'm much smarter than you are!"

"Exactly. Did you think there's someone more stupid than you in existence, Frank?" Cindy gloated as well.

Gina chuckled before continuing, "Now, listen closely, Frank. I don't want that chunk of dirt even if it kills me-no, not even if you forced it on me! And right now, I disown Helen. I won't ever ask either of you for anything from now on! You're both pigs, and you both deserve to be conned! Now, fuck off!"

And with that lengthy outburst, Gina hung up, while Frank was still holding up his phone.

"Pigs?" Frank laughed despite himself to think there was a mother in existence who would use that word on her own daughter and son-in-law!
